I have enjoyed posting about horror games here for years, but I no longer wish to support the site and will be leaving for good. I'll probably get this within the first week. The demo was pretty great and the story seems more interesting than the first Outlast (which was pretty weak, imo). My only reservation is the whole separated from wife trope.

The again may have made that sentence more confusing, it's fixed now. The game releases in 2-3 days from today (April 25th), though I wouldn't be surprised if some people get the physical copy of Trinity early or the like on Monday.

I love the atmosphere and setting of the 1st one but the gameplay got old and repetitive after awhile. Hopefully, they're able to change it up and add new gameplay elements to this one.

One thing to mention about Outlast 2 compared to the first is the level design is completely different, with more a focus on bigger, open areas. Also as you're in a cult, there's now multiple stalkers and sometimes you've avoiding mobs and the sort. But pacing will make or break it, I do agree.

Thats good to hear. I hope the game doesn't fo what the first game did with having one guy chase for 60% of the game

i have found memories of streaming the first one and some friends coincidentally watching when i had put the controller down to go to the bathroom and my character was sitting there in front of a jail cell where a guy was loudly jerking himself off lol

Yeah. Even Alien Isolation gave you tools to defend yourself somewhat. I have yet to finish the first Outlast.

Resi 7 in VR has spoiled me, Don't think i can take scare horrors serious anymore on the TV. Being inside VR added a whole new level of immersion this game would be fantastic to play.

Outlast was my favourite PS Plus game, which compelled me to buy Whistleblower. Curious to see if the sequel will be as good.

I'm so happy for this release, I'm buying two copies of the retail version. Crazy, I know. But I absolutely love this series. I even once let my PS+ membership lapse just so I could literally purchase Outlast again, instead of owning it via PS+.

To me the demo was a bit too "linear", it kind of felt like I was on an amusement park ride or going through a halloween haunted house.

It gave me a much different vibe from the mental hospital of the first title. I found the
