UK December 2013:
Consoles and software totalled £605.5 million, excludes digital and accessories.
Software was £245.4.
Hardware units 1.25 million.

PS4 hardware in full year 2013 greater than total Xbox 360 hardware in full year, by a couple of thousand units. Perhaps that's threadworthy?

3DS hardware still greater than PS4, however, so PS4 not top-selling system -- 3DS was top.
Fuuuuuuuuuck me. That's really impressive.

What was the gap like between 3DS and PS4?

So...

2013

3DS > 530,000
PS4 - 530,000
360 - 528,000

PS4 - 280,000
Xbox One - 194,000
Total next gen - 474,000

Total December 2013 hardware not next-gen (3DS, PS3, 360, Wii, Wii U, Vita, DS, PS2, PSP) - 776,000.

Given how 360 sold for the whole year, I suppose 3DS should have a good share of those 776,000.

The game doesn't appear to have been made to be a franchise anyway.
If you look at the story more closely, it's left so much in story hooks for possible continuation (the whole Orcs problem, internal affairs and even relics part only finished in one certain occasion) - so it's a given that story itself was planned to allow vast expansion in the future.

Dat PS3 top 5. Dat FIFA 14 PS4. Dat...Mario Kart 7 in top 10 ( O_O )

3DS seems to have started the year pretty well in Germany, especially seeing how, overall, places didn't change that much compared to Week 52 (Zelda even rose).

...And maybe Wii U is doing a little better? Wii Party U being that high is suspicious, since these charts don't count bundles.

Many next-gen titles rising.

If the top game for the week only sold 20k, doesnt that put the bottom of the chart in the low hundreds?

Not at all. Going lower, places become much more near in numbers. I mean, a game at 40th could have sold just 300-500 units lower than, I don't know, the 37th.

That's crazy impressive

Isn't the X1 bundled with Fifa 14 as well?

Right now there's the normal Xbox One + FIFA 14 bundle, usually a little higher priced than the light Xbox One (£429.99). However, now on Amazon.co.uk prices of both SKUs are basically the same (FIFA 14 bundle now at £430.97).

And yes, bundle sales are counted in UK charts.

FIFA 14 is the UK No.1 for the 7th time

EA’s FIFA 14 has claimed its fourth successive No.1 and its seventh overall in this week’s UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

There are big weekly sales drops for nearly all games in the Top Ten with the exception of Sony’s PS4 shooter Killzone: Shadow Fall, which climbs 13 places to eighth following a 63 per cent climb in sales.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is this week’s No.2 (-41%), Battlefield 4 finishes in third (-48%), Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in fourth (-52%) and Grand Theft Auto V at No.5.

A new average sales price of below £5 helps Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines jump five places to 10th, too.

A number of other price promotions help a handful of older titles re-enter the listings, too, including Dead Island: Riptide (16th, +76%), Grid 2 (29th, +72%) and Gears of War: Judgement (30th, +310%).

First news about this week

Week 2, 2014

FIFA 14
Call of Duty: Ghosts (-41%) - 31,232
Battlefield 4 (48%)
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (-52%) - 23,581
Grand Theft Auto 5

I completed Killzone: Shadow Fall yesterday... I wouldn't recommend it. Still, it climbing so many places back up to eighth is a good healthy sign for the new gen.

More complete PR from GFK

EA remain at No1 with a 7th week for ‘FIFA 14’ (-32%) - the last 4 weeks consecutively. Activision Blizzard remain at No2 with ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ (-41%) and 4 consecutive weeks behind ‘FIFA 14’. EA’s ‘Battlefield 4’ is No3 (-48%), swapping places with Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ at No4 (-52%). Sony’s PS4 ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall’ climbs 13 places back into the Top 10 at No8 (+63%) as PS4 hardware stock hits retail, whilst Sega’s ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ (-14%) climbs 5 places to No10 as the average price on all versions drops below £5. Deep Silver/Koch’s ‘Dead Island: Riptide’ re-enters at No16 (+76%) due to strong price promotion and Rockstar/Take 2’s ‘Max Payne 3’ climbs 12 places to No21 (-7%) for the same reasons.
Also feeling the benefits of keen pricing and re-entering the Top 40 are the following 3 titles: Codemasters' ‘GRID 2’ (+72%) at No29, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 ‘Gears of War: Judgement’ (+310%) at No30 and Bethesda’s ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Legendary’ (-1%) at No38.

Week 2, 2014

FIFA 14 (-32%) - 42,309
Call of Duty: Ghosts (-41%) - 31,232
Battlefield 4 (48%)
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (-52%) - 23,581
Grand Theft Auto 5

Hopefully, Metro will give us (partial) FIFA splits again, this week.

Really sad to barely see 3D world in any chart. Really depressing stuff considering it's one of the best games of 2013, if not the best...

So many deals...and Aliens being that high is a crime :lol

3DS has four titles in the All Formats Top 40, and eight titles in the Full Price All Formats Top 40, with Layton games strangely re-entering (probably, there were some bundle deals of sorts again).

PS4 is surely reasoning great with UK: many PS4 SKUs of games are not only higher (if not much higher) than One's, but they're also higher than PS3 versions. And some of them are even higher than 360 SKUs as well (major case in point: FIFA).

Knack rises a further 10 places, cementing its absolute dominance over M3D World.

Dominance in sales. And the reason are obvious.
I have a PS4, but please don't ever mention 3D World and Knack in the same sentence again. It’s insulting.

Indeed. Meteoric sales-star Knack don't need to be associated with no 'soon for the bargain bin' flop platformer.
