Taking a break from Bravely Second, thought I'd fiddle with some of the other 3DS games in my collection and ended up with Ironfall Invasion. A good looking ugly game. Kinda like The Conduit did way back on the Wii, it feels like it pushes the tech too far for the art style.

I think the game looks great, apart from some aliasing and cheap-looking animations. Your screenshots aren't representative because they're blown up. Why not take them at the 3DS' 400 x 240 resolution?

The blowing pics up (x4 with nearest neighbor so no filtering added) is just to make them easier to see. No malice intended or trying to misrepresent the device or games. I love the 3DS. I do agree that the game looks good, great at times, but I also think the games art style is a little too generic and ugly to really make the tech behind it shine as well as it should.

I have tried Dark Souls. It runs OKish at 640x360 with 90p DoF resolution. Many areas of the game run at ~25fps, some at 30+ fps, and a few at 15fps. Playable, for the most part.
The GPD people have been taking suggestions and releasing their designs for a WIN successor, so it's likely. Just a matter of when (probably well into 2018 at the earliest I would guess), and if it will have different internals from the first WIN.

As Slick Butter already said the Win 2 is already in the works and we'll have to wait at least the 2018, the problem is that there seem to be only 2 choices for the hardware, one solution would be similar price but also similar power, the other would be a great upgrade but also a very expensive price(intel core m3 that alone costs 281 bucks instead of the actual atom z8750 that costs just 37 bucks), maybe the GPD will find a third way...

Dark Souls runs like absolute shit on my i5 Surface Pro 4, even when using DSfix to reduce the graphical settings below the default.

Well... It has a much better processor and way more RAM among other things so it's not surprising.

Looks encouraging for the most part. I'd love to see the hardware get a big upgrade for a successor, and hopefully a release on major retailers. I think going for a larger size(switch/wiigamepad) would be very good for thermals, and battery life.

A lot better, gflops-wise the GPD Win 1 is comparable to undocked switch, the Win 2 would be comparable to docked Switch but without a weaker undocked mode limiting the games.

It's hard to do estimates just by numbers but i would say that if you don't exaggerate with resolution(no more than 1080p, better if 720p) and details you should be able to play ps360 games and probably some newer games without problems, but performance depends on each single game, not on the hardware like gaf likes to think, so some games would run better while other worse.

Wow thanks I didn't even think of trying to look up other devices with the same CPU lmao (for some reason that sounds sarcastic when I read it back but I'm being serious). I did try to find videos of the exact same tablet but didn't get much. Anyway thanks. I know I can get a significantly better laptop for the price but I'm not in the market for a laptop I want something I can use as a tablet.

More Oozi: the Earth Adventure on the GPD Win, i know that probably no one had an Amiga here, but if you had an Amiga and loved Superfrog you must buy this game, it's like the sequel it deserved but it never got(the aberration of Superfrog HD doesn't count)
