All I ask for is for some more glorious Kaneko designs.
This may definitely be a system seller for me.
The Archangels seriously need to be redesigned.

Maniac difficulty level that randomly spans Matadors on you every three hours of gameplay as soon as you can win against him.
Again?
I don't see why anyone would bother with a Vita a this point. I'm not a fanboy of any system, but it's pretty clear to me that the 3ds is where the games are going to be.
As for Eternal Punishment, I am not expecting it. However, Atlus USA does seem to be a little bit behind since they haven't even announced EO4 yet, and that is most certianly due.
After Raidou 2, I wouldn't put it past Atlus to do something like that.
Are you referring to the Four? When were they redesigned?
They look one way in SMT2, another in 3. Gabriel's male in 2, female in 3.
If by that you mean "they're in 2D in SMT2 and 3D in SMT3" then yes. Otherwise, Uriel, Michael and Raphael all look exactly the same in both games, to the point that they even use the same poses. Gabriel in SMT3 uses the design from if... and like the other three is in the exact same pose.
Never played a main line SMT title before. Played Personas 3 and 4, though.
I will give this one a shot.
I meant from 1 to 2, I think.
SMT1
SMT2 and beyond:
Time travel? That last scene seemed to show the main character (?) standing on a street corner but it was shifting time periods.
I guess the argument over whether the scenes are celshaded CG or hand drawn anime doesn't even matter since the scenes don't even look particular animated at all. Lol.
Interesting settings though. There are a bunch of different background designs in the trailer, and the realtime scene at the end shows 5 different areas. Looks pretty SMT, but also rather... early? The game might not be out before mid-2013 at this rate.
No it's just shifting through different background environments. It's just video editing.
I love speculating though. My imagination is running wild trying to decipher the images.
You have any thoughts on what we may be seeing?
I dunno. I think I'll wait for a formal unveil honestly. There isn't much in the trailer other than "this is SMT4". Everything they're showing is just teases which have no real context. The themes seem to be the usual SMT themes of demons and humans co-existing, destroying/remaking the world, law and chaos, etc. Not much to pick up. I like the desert setting with the giant stone head on it though. I wonder if this is a post SMT3 setting...
Wonder what's going on at :42, at first I figured it was more concept art but there are a lot of practical details, maybe some kind of world map?

The shift between a clean/green landscape inhabited by people in blue and white robes and a ruined Earth makes me wonder if maybe they are going back to a direct continuation from SMT2, and this is the EDEN ship returning to Earth after some time.

Well, having COMPs definitely implies they're going back to the SMT1-2 sort of setting, rather than a conceptual one like SMT3. But I wonder if they plan on tying in elements from all the previous SMT games... including SJ.
