24 hour jobs and then painfully starting them again next day.

What puzzles me is how an update like that can get released at all never mind take so long to fix afterwards. It's not like it's one of those hard to spot bugs that slip through. It's out there and in your face the second you start trying to do anything.

I doubt it's hard to spot, it's just with all the extra stuff they added for easter... i bet it's a pain in the ass to figure out what's causing the trouble. (to take the side of the coders)

Somewhere I read that it's affecting all EA mobile games, not sure how true that is but if so, what a mess!

Fire your server team right now.

I was reoganizing Krustyland and my game crashed. Now I can't get back in. I can go to Springfield, I can go to Friend's Krustyland, but not my own. Tried restarting my phone, but no luck.

Kind of annoying because I have a lot of characters tied up their at the moment.

Still working good for me on my town but turns to shit when I visit friends, had it crash three or four times whilst doing my rounds. I just set my characters on 24 hour jobs anyway (unless they have a mission). Takes too bloody long to log in more than once or twice a day.

Love your avatar |M|O|O|N| :)

Any of you guys have ever purchased a golden scratch? Does it worth it? Better spend on bigger amounts of doughnuts?

I'm tempted to spend money on this because of all the hours I've spended on this game. I think they deserve something from me :p

Don't bother with golden scratchers. It has the same odds as the regular scratchers, and how often do you get lucky with those?

My advice is to wait for a donut sale (+25% extra donuts). There was a sale last year at the end of May, so hopefully history repeats itself this year :)

Level 41 is live now. Dr. Hibbert's brother in law is a premium character and his wife is the freebie.

meh. Would still rather have a donut sale or yard sale or a character that was, you know, actually in the tv show.

So despite being a diehard Simpsons junkie, I'm about to dive into the realm of Tapped Out for the first time. So, before I do, I want to ensure I've got my head screwed on straight on a few things.

First off, Promotional Quests and Events are clearly not in play 'cause I missed them. You snooze, you lose and all that. Understood. There are YouTube vids for those.

Premium Quests are 60 donuts or more a piece. Except for Squeaky Voiced Teen's quest (which is 30 and can also be unlocked via Mystery Box or Buddha). I got that. Donuts are a precious commodity and I should never waste them (i.e. I'll ignore the tutorial prompts to spend them and get the 10 donut Easter Egg bounty from Homer's MyPad). Got that.

Now the only way to earn donuts apart from paying EA money (boo!) is to either unlock them in level ups, get them from debris cleanup or wait for EA to give them to me. Or get someone to hack my game? Am I right there or are people just giving these things away through some donut black market enterprise?

All of the other quests are unlocked as I build levels. Squidport becomes a factor at Level 15. Krustyland at Level 20. In order to do that quickly, I need to adhere to prescribed quest guidelines and fill my Springfield with all of the cheap cash/XP building items that krae_man suggested in this post... namely brown houses, blue houses and white houses. Brown houses are the bread and butter of active grinding. Blue and purple houses can supplant them when I'm less engaged and only popping in once or twice a day. And possibly white houses when I'm looking to farm without taking up much space.

Current level cap is 41.

And when not questing, I need to send my Springfield citizens on quests... quick ones generate the most "over time" if I'm aimlessly tapping away but if I'm checking out for a day I should send them on a lengthier task that will generate more when I start playing again. (Obviously, lengthier tasks will be the norm once my city is flooded with people.)

Lastly, I need to earn Friend Points to unlock more stuff and I do that by adding folks on the GAF Origin name list so I can visit their Springfields and they can visit mine.

Have I got all that straight? Anything else I need to know? I suppose there's that donut spend confirm flag wrinkle that EA always conveniently deactivates whenever they release a new update. Those greedy bastards.

Is the Conform-o-meter important? I mean, I'll be rolling in Indolence from my house farm and Socialism due to Friend activity. And I figure the rest will just come naturally when I unlock quest buildings (while ignoring all of the frivolous stuff that's just there to look pretty).

You can also get donuts when you visit friends after you have maxed out your FP!
And yes there is a way to hack for donuts. freedonuts on reddit is a popular place..

Yes, but I still standby saying it looks ugly as hell :)

It gives a money/xp boost the higher it is, so no reason not to try and keep it high as possible!

Yikes, 800k for the newest building. I'm still in the middle of trying to finish buying all the land so I can actually do some planning rather than just throwing buildings everywhere, so I guess I'll try to finish that.

I just sent them a request form. I'm going to be so happy if they respond since I have never had over 150 donuts and someone on my account spent 40 of them on the useless Tire Fire.

Who in the hell is Chester Dupree, and why should I pay 150 donuts for him?
He's Dr. Hibbert's slacker brother-in-law.
He was referenced in a throwaway line of dialogue in Season 24's Gone Abie Gone and, presto, he now exists in virtual gaming form with his own quest line.
Because who doesn't want to waste their precious donuts on an original Tapped Out character creation?

Gotta save some major-ish side characters for larger events I suppose.

Well, I guess this is the wave of the future for Tapped Out. Simpsons fanfic for years to come.
After the show ends they'll launch a Simpsons Tapped Out future hub where we'll be able to build a futuristic Springfield complete with older versions of all the characters and guest stars from Futurama.

My Origin ID, btw, is gaTrebU.
I did a trial run of the game using BlueStacks (in my pre-tablet owning days) under my standard UberTag name but I spent some donuts unintentionally and don't plan on going back to that one as of right now.

I have about 173 donuts now after that gift, but it's so hard to decide whether to use them on something or save for one of the yet more expensive things like Barney. Adding up the donut cost of the premium stuff I see on some of my friends really makes me wonder how many have hacked, as I just don't see that many people spending $100+ on a mindless tapping and collecting game.

Anybody having problems on android with the last update? The girlfriend seems to be having issues that the game won't start as there "is not enough space" even though she has freed up over a gig in data.

On my iPad, I need at least 1.2 GB or something free to get past that error.

LOL the Bernece questline has one free donut in it.

Don't spend it all in one place.

Ooh don't poo-poo a donut, Lisa. A donut will buy you a steak and kidney pie, a cup of coffee, a slice of cheesecake and a newsreel. With enough change left over to ride the trolley from Battery Park to the polo grounds.

I like this "game" somewhat, but i hate the fact that a lot of interesting stuff is behind a paywall (as in "spend donuts"). Fuck that, I don't want to give EA any more of my money (I think I've only bought one of the cheaper donut-packages in the game), especially not an amount equivalent to full-flegded games in other platforms.

Oh well. Welcome to microtransactions.

As for the rest, I think I'm doing fine. I kinda lose a lot of time when tapping so many characters and buildings to get the money and XP, but considering it's just a couple of instances per day, it's not THAT much.

EDIT: If anyone wants to add me, my Origin tag is Altazor_88

I'm amazed it took this long for people to realize your friends get friend points regardless of what you tap now. People were still going graffiti first till a couple days ago.

FYI you just have to tap the buildings and characters once. You don't have to collect all the money and XP that comes out of them. Also, when you visit friends, just tap three buildings and move on to the next one. You don't have to wait for the money and XP to collect itself.

I wish someone would have told me about it a LONG time ago :p

Anyway...hoping for an update soon. Feeling quite tapped out...I hope there's another yard sale like this time last year, or at least another donut sale soon. C'mon, Gil!

may I ask what's your tag so I can add you?

I feel the same way. Almost ready to call it quits... Almost...

Same. Run out of things to add and everything. Just going through the motions now. Need a big new update.

Incidentally, the official Facebook is teasing a Stonecutters update.
