I never mentioned anything about it here, but I've been scared shitless of a test regarding a tumor within my inner ear (Acoustic neuroma) and whether it's malignant or not. Thank God it's not, but I still have to have the tumor surgically removed. I had been experiencing loss of sound, ringing in that ear and extreme Vertigo as of late, so I knew something was up.

I'm scheduled for surgery on Wednesday. I could have opted to wait it out or undergone Gamma Knife radiosurgery instead, but these Vertigo spells have been awful to the point where my work and social life have been impacted greatly. Hopefully this cures that shit cause it's annoying as fuck.

Also wish I had some good advice to give FM, but I never figured it out either. Similar shit happened except with my ma, multiple times, and I had to come to terms there wasn't really a thing I could do that wouldn't make it worse or have no effect.

Lmao, I think the Steelers probably caused the tumor.

The 49ers tanking the rest of the season and missing out on the playoffs would go a long way towards curing it though :D

And I didn't mean to sound so morbid. The tumor is Benign, and it's not in an overly complicated place, so the procedure isn't anything out of the ordinary. Obviously surgery of any type is serious, but barring any out of the ordinary complications, the surgery and recovery should be pretty straight forward. The only possible complication they mentioned was partial facial paralysis, but it's unlikely considering I wasn't experiencing anything like that heading into the surgery.

I'm going to whether the storm and wait closer to launch to cancel/keep my preorders. But then again, since I'm scalping everything anyways, I'll likely just keep them. Worst case scenario, I take the units back to the store and get my money back if there's no money to be made.

Damn, one of my friends wanted me to come up there to visit and go to the fair...and this is EXACTLY why I don't trust state fair rides. This shit is literally what I explained to him as the reason. 1. Rides are old as shit and aren't safe for shit. 2. Not backed by a billion dollar corporation so the ride operators give absolutely no fuck because they get paid shit. 3. It's the south.

the rides are old and jerky but it's not unsafe.

fairs are the shit if you are a kid or have kids. i haven't been interested in going to one since i went to college.

It's not quite as cool as it sounds :(

Gamma Knife radiosurgery is a type of radiation therapy used to treat tumors and other abnormalities in the brain.

In Gamma Knife radiosurgery, specialized equipment focuses close to 200 tiny beams of radiation on a tumor or other target. Although each beam has very little effect on the brain tissue it passes through, a strong dose of radiation is delivered to the site where all the beams meet.

The precision of Gamma Knife radiosurgery results in minimal damage to healthy tissues surrounding the target. In some cases, Gamma Knife radiosurgery may have a lower risk of side effects compared with other types of radiation therapy. Also, Gamma Knife radiosurgery is often a safer option than is traditional brain surgery.
