As "I Could if I Wanted To" played, all I could think was, "Man, this style of song doesn't fit Santino very well. He could do a lot better."
And then the line about, "This song sucks. I could make it better if I wanted to." came up. And it went to brilliance. He intentionally undersold the song.

While "Feeling Kinda Naughty" is my favorite funny song, "You Stupid Bitch" might be the best of the season for just how harsh and real it is. That song and the episode was just beating you and Rebecca down so hard, and it was wonderful because of the entire build up to it. You knew it was coming, and it didn't make the impact of it any easier.

Second. Sexy Getting Ready Song went viral a fair bit at the premiere.

But never underestimate the plight of women with large breasts. I showed the video for Heavy Boobs to some coworkers and it was enough to convince them to give the show a try. They were laughing at how true it all was.

Well, it was women coworkers I showed the video to, not men. But the plight of putting up with heavy boobs was enough to hook them. And heavy boobs almost swayed my wife to finally watch the series with me. She has only caught an episode here or there or hears me talk about it, but the heavy boobs song resonated with her.

I just think Heavy Boobs and Sexy Getting Ready Song just happen to be more standalone. Like the kind of thing you might see in an Amy Schumer sketch or something. Pretty much all the other songs are tied really close to character or story to really divorce it from the show to take off.

Which is a shame in some ways cause it makes the show harder to recommend on them alone, but I think it makes those songs more powerful overall.

I am curious why like the Sisterhood song never took off though, that felt like it was good enough to standalone. Same with the one-night stand one as well. Settle For Me is like right on that edge too.

I mean I think Dreamghosts is an amazing song but if you don't have the context of the show it may be a little hard to hook someone.

That's still waaaay more than any other video from the show in such a short amount of time. It sucks that the page that uploaded it without permission is getting all that attention. I guess, at least they didn't trim off the ad at the end for the show. But still it's bullshit how Facebook is absolute garbage at handling this stuff.

Recently started watching this shit and caught up.

Show is absolutely fantastic, a real diamond in the rough. Rachel Bloom absolutely exudes personality and charm. It's impossible not to like her.

This show was better than expected in all regards, I pretty much have this thread to thank for giving me favorable opinions on it when making the decision to watch the first episode, just finished last weeks a few minutes ago and I can't wait for the next one.
