1 week to go...
So hyped.
edit: this is a really stupid question, but HFR isn't separate from 3D in theaters, right? It's either regular 2D or HFR 3D.
Oh okay, thanks. There is HFR 3D and regular 3D.
Got my ticket to Smaug's Desolation for next Friday. That 2h30m run time seems a bit excessive though.
I know, I know. It's the shortest one of the series yet :lol.
Do we know whether we'll see Stephen Fry in the Desolation of Smaug?
I know, I know.
It's just that by the end scene of the first Hobbit movie, they were exactly halfway through the novel. Spreading the remaining book contents over two 2h+ movies feels ill fated. Either the second movie is full of padding and filler or both the second and third movies are.

Could it be a reversal of LotR? Where the first one is the worst and the second one is actually the best?
Looks like becoming chubby again did the trick for peter Jackson. Also I am quite curious where in the book they will end as there will be very few material left after smaug
As someone who really liked AUJ and who's been really hyped for Desolation already, I'm now in overdrive.
So if I already loved the first Hobbit... how much will I like this one?
Is there a website with the HFR 3D theaters listed?
Thank god it's being shown in 24fps 2D here! They're gonna have the movie simultaniously showing in four rooms, three of them being HFR in 3D. I managed to get tickets for that one room without any of the gimmick crap !
I complained for the first movie and I'll do it here: I really wish they did a HFR 2D version. Can't see 3D but I'd love to see how the HFR stuff is.

Mm-hmm.Gimmick? lol
AUJ in HFR 3D was a fucking revelation. Every film should be in that standard.
Buttery smooth and the clarity was insane.

Mm-hmm.
This movie could have a sub-zero RT score and I would still watch it just for dat HFR.
Seriously, I mean does anyone believe we are ever getting another blockbuster movie outside of the hobbit trilogy in HFR. I'm honestly viewing this as a once in a lifetime experience.

There's Avatar 2, coming in 2050, directed by James Cameron Jr.
Avatar 2?
Avatar sequels, most likely
!At the moment it looks as if DOS will end with Smaug flying towards Laketown, which leaves that whole debacle for the third film. Then there's the whole political arc outside Erebor involving the men and elves, the Battle of Five Armies, and the return journey back to The Shire. On top of this, there's the entire resolution of the Dol Guldur arc, including the razing of the fortress and banishing of Sauron.
It's incredible during wide, location shots. It makes CG elements look much more believable and part of the real world. But it doesn't work as well for normal scenes with characters moving around a set, it can feel like the footage is being played back too quickly and brings out too much detail in sets so that they lose some of that cinematic blur that we are used to.
I've heard that that HFR helps some people who had problems with traditional 3D. It did make the 3D look crystal clear to me, even during fast paced scenes where it usually becomes a bit of a fuzzy mess for me in 24fps.
Gonna see it in 48fps, but the cinema here only shows it with a break. C'mon it's not that long, I went to see the first one there without a break. They only do this to sell candy and popcorn...
The soundtrack is fucking godlike. GODLIKE.
