I enjoyed the premiere, although it's definitely going to be a bit different to get used to them not being in prison again, a la Season 2.

They just have no chemistry with each other. Also is it just me or has something about the actress who plays Sara changed? She just looks different. Would have been much smarter just to leave her dead. That would have made Michael finally taking down the company much much sweet and the payoff better when he does take them down. Seems really stupid that he had to actually think about getting help to take down the company or do 15 years in prison also. Let's see get revenge for everything they have put you through or spend 15 years in prison with the company most likely trying to kill you every day you are in there? hmm tough decision

It felt so rushed, they tried to cram so much shit into the season premiere. They completely glossed over some things, like Linc fucking up with the fake head "oops, sry" and then they just move on and never address that again, the acting was weak in some spots, Gretchen was acting totally out of character...

Still, I would have liked to see it in the show, but hell, they had to pack Michael and Linc being arrested, Gretchen and Whistler being captured/killed, Mahone's family being killed, Bellick and Sucre meeting up with Michael and Sara coming back, so they were pushed for time.
But anyway, I'll probably watch it.

Where has Paul T Scheuring gone! He was what made this show so great! Season 1 and 2 were so brilliant because everything was planned ahead. This show was great BECAUSE of it. Shows like Lost are great DESPITE it.
He didn't write the Season 3 finale and didn't write the season premiere this year. What the hell!
My theory is that he was forced to kill Sara and maybe just didn't know how to write the show after that and didn't want to bother. Or he was forced to kill Sara and dealt with that, but when he found out she was coming back, he said F that in the righteous A.
All I know is that I hope this is the last season so that this incredible show can go out with some dignity.

Anyway, I was hoping the show wouldn't get so silly with the fake technology. 24 is BEYOND ridiculous in this aspect. The magical device that can read anything off of anything, whether it's wireless or not (@_@) makes me want to barf.
I still say that this premier was a direct result of the writer's strike. 90% of the stuff that was glossed over was probably going to be fully explored in the last half of the 3rd season.
Now it was all mentioned in passing in the first 30 minutes so they could move on with the 4th season.
In their minds it was probably either finish off season three and stretch the show out to 5 seasons or Dues ex Machina season 3 away and finish the show this season.

Actually, season 2 wasn't planned ahead. In fact, they were in a mad scramble to finish up the last half of the season because their 'winter break' was cut back by 3 months. So they were hurrying to get the season done.Phatcorns said:

He just doesn't fit in the role they gave him. We go from Mahone being awesome as FBI to Rappaport...He just doesn't seem like he really wants to take down the company. Maybe if they flesh out his backstory some more. Tell why he wants to take them down so badly..

Does anyone remember if this is supposed to do the last season or are they doing one more. I seem to remember reading something last year that it was renewed for 2 more seasons, but wasn't sure...
The first hour kind of sucked, but probably because it was a two-parter, so they need a longer time to set stuff up. The second hour rocked, except for the ending. 
Still, what happened to Mahone? He was Scofield-levels of genious in season 2, then he got addicted to drugs in season 3 and did almost nothing, now his wife and son are dead and he's running after Bellick?
But goddamint, I can't get over the fact that the awesome black hitman is

I like how they deliberately have no intro anymore, and just the title in between scenes. It feels like it's the 'final' act in the story.
Do anyone of you feel this show would have been more awesome in the '90s? Cuz it feels like one. Back when The X-Files were around, there were all these other shows with the whole government conspiracy shit going around like Strange Luck also on FOX, Nowhere Man on UPN, Prison Break just reeks of the same 'bullshit' shows back then.
I love it for what it is though, really.

The last season was so unbelievably shit that they didn't even have to try with Season 4, it was always going to be an improvement.
Anyway, it's looking alright so far. A lot of bullshit acting (Mahone losing wife and kid, no reaction; Michael and Sara hardly showing any connection etc.), and as people have already mentioned, it's total bollocks that they'd get people like Sucre and Bellick to take down one of the world's most dangerous organisations. But despite all of that, the prospect of Mission Impossible style infiltrations and espionage scenarios sure could be entertaining. Here's hoping.

I thought it was a great contrast to S1 and S2: Michael was now forced to think on his feet, because months and months of careful planning went to shit and he had little to no time to make up his plan as he went along.
Sure, there were some really stupid stuff, like relying on the SUN to escape, which was even a joke in a later episode, but I thought the season as a whole was great.

Yeah I liked S3 as well, but S4 is looking to be horrible.
Half ass Mission Impossible with half of team being useless (Belick wtf). Why not bring in the kid & Lincoln's girlfriend into the mission as well.
