The Witcher 2 - April High Quality New Screens, Boxart and Sex pic

If there's a PC game scratching my consolified brain telling me to get a gaming PC is this damn game, holy sheeeeeeeet, Bioware should be ashamed, not only on a technical level also in an art standpoint. (for example Bioware: you can make atractive women without modelling them after fake boobed porn stars)

Oh my fucking God. That 2nd picture just makes my heart cry as an avid RPG fan. It's a shame I don't have a good rig to play this on. WOW.

What's with the dialogue? Do people say "right on" in middle earth? Or how about "waiting for your fuck?" Those two just seem off to me. Game is beyond gorgeous otherwise.

Approximately $7-$10 million, maybe a little bit more with the delay.
Why the fuck does this game look so good when other games look ten times worse on three times the budget. Something somewhere is wrong.

I would consider double dipping on a physical version if it comes with a fold out map like the Elder Scrolls game. I would put it on my living room wall, I don't give a fuck. The digital version comes with a digital map but it's not as cool if it's printed out on a piece of paper.

You're probably joking, but just in case: check out the gameplay footage. it's that but in motion. Also, that's what 2011 games (can) look like.

And just in case $130 is too much the standard edition at retail has a world map.

I see an improper UV in the first pic! Game's graphics are now totally balls.

Wait, no one cares? I don't even care? How the fuck did I even see that.

...This is gonna be another day one purchase for me :(

No, but they would in Sapkowski's world.

Also see above.

Looks exceptional. I didn't like the first Witcher because it was a complete buggy mess when I tried to play it and I never bothered to get back in to it later but I want to try this one out.

Polish Development Company. Costs stay much better under control when you dont have designers, producers etc that feel they have to buy a new Porsche, ferrari etc every few years

I...didn't know you could use the PS3 controller >___>

So what do you do, just plug it in? I doubt they would put in a whole interface for the PS3 buttons...would they? o_O

Will use that then.

Look up the MotionInJoy drivers. Basically, it just makes your computer think your PS3 controller is a 360 controller. It won't replace the 360 button prompts in games, but it allows you to fully remap every button and it saved me $40 I would have had to spend on a 360 controller.

Hmmm...I really want to buy it through GOG so I'll probably just order that when it's on sale or something, I need that map. The collectors edition is insane but I dunno if I want to pay that much for a mold of Geralt's head. Maybe I could put my headphones on it or something.

Son.

THIS is the Collector's Edition.

$130 of my money is decidedly going here.

Already got mine pre-ordered, and I'll be pinning the map on to my wall while the game is installing. Can't wait!

Wow, that looks amazing. I seriously kind of want to hold off until I build my new PC before playing this, but that means waiting until the end of the year.

I assume he is using motioninjoy. I use it for playing games on emulators mostly, but I also played around with it in Fallout New Vegas. Just set motionjoy to emulate a 360 controller and it worked great in NV for me. If the Witcher 2 is designed for a 360 controller as well I imagine it would work just as well.

In a funny way, it reminds me at the attempts to stop DVD piracy abroad where the RIAA does not reign. Make the collector's editions and physical copies have so much shit and inventive stuff to them.

Pin? C'mon, man. Go down to Target, pay the $20 or so and get a frame for it. Video game maps often make good wall art.

Friends in a tavern will talk like friends in a tavern. When Geralt's chatting it up with royalty, he'll take a more reserved and sarcastic tone. It's really well written stuff.

It's funny how many east block / low-budget games can look so much better than top-budget titles. I think it's because most of the designers and developers actually care about their profession rather than the wallet - So they tend to make an effort.

I've been a PC gamer my whole life and I still have a hard time believing these are in game graphics. I really hope we don't get some controversy post release where we discover that these were simply bullshots. My other concern is the combat system, from what was shown it is nowhere close to Arkham Asylum in terms of polish and they only have about two weeks to go... Maybe they will release an enhanced edition after a while like they did with the first.

That's being more than a little unfair to other developers.

The main reason Witcher 2 looks as good as it does is because it's one team making one game for one (high-end) system.

It's refreshing, isn't it? It's a risk but it can be smart at the same time since they can make a profit on modest sales with a modest budget. They don't need to sell the game to everyone. It definitely helps there isn't a megapublisher with a death grip on their balls, CD-P can make whatever game they fucking want to make.

I agree, after seeing some gameplay footage (pre-beta build) im not sure about the combat system i hope it got improved, looked really clunky.

PC Screenshot thread is going to have a field day with the variety of scenery from this game. So beautiful.

A little over a month left until release!

lol that would be a bit too far for me to travel for a frame (UK here), but yeah, I'll probably end up getting one anyway. The map certainly looks worth it. I hope it's a decent size.

I haven't said wow from a game in a long time. Holy shit.

Preordered the Collector's Edition as soon as it was available. Will not regret it.

I was going to buy this at a later date cause brink comes out in may but after seeing those screenshots I had to preorder on steam right away.

Also LOL @ the dragon age 2 pics.

They have been using 360 pad in most of the live demos and such so it's working perfectly within the game's control scheme.

The release of this game is so unfortunately dated for me because all my GCSE shitstorm exams start then...
