Were people really not expecting a $40 price tag?
Indie games aren't real games so they aren't worth more than 20
Were people really not expecting a $40 price tag?
Presently, no, but given the amount of digital titles that have gotten physical releases a little bit later, I imagine Blow has been talking to people.
Holy shit!!!
Last gen, XBLA/PSN games were normally $10 or $15. This gen, they went up to $15 or $20 and now $40??? Are you fucking kidding me???
No thanks.
The only comparable game is Talos Principle, another expansive indie first-person puzzler, priced at $40
Why were people expecting this to be any different?
Nope no thanks. Little too steep and not really my kind of game to begin with.
That's a lot for a bunch of line puzzles
Holy shit!!!

Umh, dunno if my memory is bad again, but wasn't this suppose to launch for free on Plus?
I don't get the need for pre-ordering digital games (moreover without any goodies). It's not like the game could be sold-out.

I was expecting $30, similar to The Talos Principle.
Are you fucking kidding? The Witness looks like a high quality title that's been in production for a long time now. Wait for reviewed if you have to but this kind of thinking is very stupid.
He has been and says a physical release is likely, though it won't be for awhile.
No, was never a plus game
~100, going from recent previews.

Care to actually back this up with facts?Talos had a much bigger budget and more people working on it.
Plus is another thing that is devaluing games in the mind of gamers.
It's a great service, but it's double edge sword.
That's what I expected, not a bad price.
Eh? The guy spend all of the millions he made from Braid into developing this game for this long. This game was never gonna be just 20$.that's way more than I'd expected. Twice more actually.
What does that matter? The talos Principle was shit compared to a similar game like Portal.Talos had a much bigger budget and more people working on it.
