You are the new NewGamePlus. So, so awesome.
I could crush with Blanka and Dhalsim back during Super Street Fighter II Turbo, though.

The only reason I was wondering was because I didn't know if you had thought about whether the idea of it had appealed to you or not.

Alright, I'm back, what I have I missed?

Well, the problem is, I can say "yeah, sure, I'd love it," but until I actually had said part and was able to take it for a test drive, there's absolutely no way I could know. If I had to make a guess however, do I think I'd enjoy sex more with the other set of equipment? Absolutely!

For now, all I know for sure is what I've got and my feelings concerning such things. It's like I'm playing Street Fighter IV and all I have unlocked are shitty characters like Blanka, Dhalsim, and Zhangief.
Hiiii! Welcome back, whhhaaaaa

Well, my parents were here this weekend. They wanted to start calling me a female name because they said my male one doesn't feel right anymore. They mostly forgot, it was like 50/50 with both the name and pronouns, but I don't particularly mind. I wasn't even correcting them. I don't know, feelings-wise has been more of the same. I'm not sure if I'm going to have much to share week-to-week until I really stop presenting as a guy.

That's awesome about your parents, you're starting early with them, they'll get it in no time. My mom calls my sister like 5 different names before she gets the right one sometimes yet manages to call me correctly every time. :p

Oh yeah? What's the typical time between starting hormones and starting to present?
I know it's different for everyone! I just wanna know everyone else's and/or yours.

Well, after I found out that you had done all of that stuff, I instantly fell in nerd love with you. You already got a +1000 video game street cred from that. In fact, we may have to rewrite the entire formula because you skewed the curve!

I'm not sure when I will, but sometime after my beard stops being so apparent. I don't think I can make it work till then.

The exact same thing happened with my ex-partner's parents (I call them my Irish parents for future reference). They wanted to change how they referred to me as soon as I told them, but then they were really random with the pronouns. Irish Dad still uses he and him quite often.

3 months for me. NewGamePlus is right though - it really depends on when you can get rid of the beard shadow if you care at all about wanting other people to see you as a girl.

Indeed, I've had two sessions thus far. I have another one scheduled pretty soon, and the hair is starting to noticeably disappear.

On a completely unrelated note does anyone know what the time is for the fastest speed run of Braid on the 360? I almost just reclaimed it on the PS3 and I'd like to know how terribly far off I am from actually being on top.

So I got my birth certificate today :) It's a bit of a gripe seeing 'Male' shown right below my new name.

Spent the day changing with various places, still so many more to go, but it's nice. :) The young-ish girl at the bank said I looked fantastic and she would have had no idea.

Just got back from therapy. Many things were discussed relating to my future endeavors. Too noodled up in the head to go into details at the moment. Though I will say it's nothing bad but... Well, lets just say I may not be transitioning anytime soon.

So, haircuts. I should be getting one in a week or two. I'll finally be going from crappy, long, ugly teenage boy hair to something hopefully more feminine and just presentable really.

Problem: I still don't know what style I want. I know I want it to be a short (by female standards) haircut, with bangs. But that's not too specific.

Out of the hairstyles I've searched for over the months, I've liked these the best:
http://www.hairfinder.com/haircollections7/coiff3.jpg
http://www.hairfinder.com/haircollections6/cam1a.jpg
http://www.hairfinder.com/haircollections6/jls1.jpg
http://www.haircutshairstyles.com/pictures/modhairstyles_layeredbob60s.jpg

If you have any recommendations, hopefully those kinda show what I'm looking for. Extra details that would help with any recommendations: My hair is kinda straight when short, wavy when medium, curly-ish when long. I have a straightener though. Very dark brown, usually looks black unless under a light. My face is heart shaped.

Also, another problem/question I keep asking myself is how will these look on me. Will they actually look feminine or is what I want too short and I'll just end up looking like a little boy? :/

First girl haircut! Woot!

It all depends on the shape of your face. The best thing you can do is go is to a *proper* salon (expensive) and ask their stylist to do something that will feminize your face. They are (or should be) highly aware of how to compliment different face shapes. Just be upfront that you're transgender and that you want to start presenting yourself as a woman soon or they wont get that you really do want to look like a girl. Also let them know you want to grow it longer so they don't go crazy with geometric layers etc.

Yeah I'm going to the salon. The one my mom uses. Also the one that the mayor's wife and daughter use so it must be pretty good! :lol

Being upfront about being trans isn't something I'd want to do. It's not that I want to keep it a secret from everyone forever, but I'd like to get to know the stylist first. Around here (I live in Texas) there are a lot of very unaccepting people and the person doing my hair could very likely be one. I'm also gonna be presenting as a guy for about another 2 years, so I think that a cut that makes me look feminine would be best.

I am definitely going to have to say that I want my haircut feminine though. No way getting around that unless I want my hair some other way that I don't want.

If it's going to be 2 years away then totally, don't tell anyone yet.

But OMG you poor chicken I don't think I would have survived 2 years from the time I decided to transition to actually doing it. Why so long?

Back from my interview. It was grueling. 45 minutes with 3 people, I am so utterly convinced that there is nothing coming as a result of this.

I kept making them laugh, and I don't think you're supposed to do that in an interview. For example, they asked what my biggest mistake EVER was. Well, they didn't specify career, so I told them I erased my parents' business database when I was 5. They all laughed.

Ok... I kind of smiled at that. Because you were FIVE and that IS kind of funny in retrospect. But if it was responses like that and the questions were like that, then I undersatnd why they laughed! You're a funny gal! I doubt they were laughing AT you in the way you think.

It sounds like the interview went REALLY well. A lot of the interview process is just showing you have a personality and making the interviewer like you. Answers like that show you would be fun to work with.

Last job I got they asked how my co-workers at my old job would describe me and I blurted out "unintentionally funny" and they LOVED it.

Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the responses to my last post. ^_^ I would have replied sooner, but I have been doing a lot of thinking lately.

Have you only started thinking about this since this thread started? If you're in a vulnerable place in life at the moment it's easy to be susceptible to suggestion - I'm just a bit worried you might be announcing things about yourself that you'll realize in a few weeks aren't really right. I could be wrong - this could have been on your mind for years?
Before I saw this thread, I never really thought about the possibility of becoming a woman, though I had misconceptions and didn't know much about transsexualism. At the same time, I never really saw my self as much of a man either. I've known for a while that I have a feminine side.
Jamie xxoo said:
The key factor in whether you should transition or not should be whether or not you can *function* without doing it. If you can - don't put yourself through it. It's harder than you can imagine, even in best case scenarios. You can manage gender dysphoria, if it's not too extreme, without transitioning fully. You can get facial hair permanently removed, express your feminine side more through what you wear, how you act, how you talk, the activities you take part in, letting people know you identify with women and don't want to be included in "manly" things, part-time cross-dressing if that works for you - there are SO many options before you get to the point where you start taking hormones and get operations and change your entire life, test every relationship, go through unbelievable humiliation, and spend all your money on transition.
I know I'm definitely not functioning properly now, though I can't really see in the long term if I could function properly as a male. If I do go through with transitioning, I would want to go the whole nine yards if possible. I realize that there are other options besides transitioning, but I don't really see them working.
Jamie xxoo said:
Transition only solves a few problems and creates a LOT of them. Those problems you're solving need to be HUGE ones to justify it. Transition is a bit like chemotherapy - it can save you from a fatal condition but it nearly kills you in the process. (Disclaimer: Being trans is not like having cancer, they're different things. It was just a metaphor.)

Definitely talk to your therapist about this, maybe get referred to a gender therapist (a specialist in this area.) Big hugs for being brave enough to talk about this openly though, and if this *is* you - being trans - then I'm really happy this thread has helped you start addressing it.
I realize that transitioning is not an easy process and will most likely cause me a great deal of grief along the way. Ever since I was younger I've felt that there was something "wrong" with me, perhaps this could be it. I don't know if my university has a gender therapist, though they probably don't. I live in Texas. >_> I haven't spoken to my psychiatrist yet, though.

That was a really wonderful response Jamie and definitely the kind of response I needed to see. Thanks. :D

At the most I am indeed a transsexual, and at the least I've fallen even further into madness. :lol Thinking about becoming a woman makes me so happy for some reason. My mind has been consumed by transsexualism lately. @_@ I have a Chrome window open with tabs, so many tabs.

One of them is http://www.youtube.com/winterwinwin - she transitioned in her teens, in Texas (not sure what city she is in). If you send her a message through her YouTube page she'll probably be able to give you some resources.

Nope. :D

First P3 playthrough attempt: Started when it came out. Regular P3. PS2 memory card. Got to the September full moon I think (the one annoying one with the wheel of fortune or something) 73h in. Bought a 60GB PS3 a few months later. (and couldn't use my save file)

Second P3 playthrough attempt: Started in Feb '08. Regular P3. 60GB PS3 virtual card. Got 26h in. P3 Fes announced for the US a week or so after I start this.

Third P3 playthrough attempt: Started in Apr '10. P3 Fes edition. 60GB PS3 virtual card. Currently 42h in and at July or August iirc. Haven't played it in a week or so. I'm determined to finish this one finally.

I also have an unplayed Nocturne & P4 sitting on my shelf. :lol

She's also pretty funny too. The april fool's one in particular. And when she uses her husband to "model".

Edit: after watching her videos on FFS, I think I understand what you were saying in previous posts about looking in the mirror and seeing things you didn't like. I didn't really get it before. When I look at your face, I look it as a whole, and see a woman. But when you look at it, you see a pronounced brow line or square chin (I don't know if it's these specifically, just examples). Is this what you mean?

Ooh, interesting. Thanks for the link. It would seem she is based out of the Dallas area, which is quite far away from me. I think I'm going to try and visit my university's LGBT resource center later today.

I had a similar experience with Persona 3. I first got P3 back in '07 after it came out and put about twenty hours into it and then didn't touch it for a while. When P3:FES was announced, I decided I would wait for that. I didn't end up getting it until that Christmas, after I had already bought and beat (thank goodness) Persona 4. I started up P3:FES last summer and then didn't finish it up until this past January. You really need to finish it. :( You've only seen the tip of the iceberg in regards to the plot, let alone Aigis. I didn't care much for Aigis at first, but after the last few months she quickly became my favorite Persona character.

I'm neurotic about cleaning. I do it everyday, and even worse on Fridays before I go out. I clean everything spotless,
then take a shower in the dark for some reason I can't explain,
leave incense burning and the radio on quiet so I always have a clean/fresh/welcoming environment for any potential "guests". Though usually I bail quietly from wherever I'm at to go home, smoke, and play games.
