edit: scratch that, don't worry
Maybe, but that's not what they told people. Everything pointed to this being full access to a shared library of games.1 hour of unabridged gameplay which is saved is better than a restricted demo.
This makes me want the Bone even less.
Aside from the lols why did they end up canning this? This is actually a pretty smart way of selling games to people.
This is amazing. Major Nelson went out of his way to pimp this as one of the huge benefits of the 24 hour DRM. Now it turns out it was a one hour demo program. lmao
Microsoft exceeded expectations... in this being something with little to no value whatsoever. I at least thought it would be the ability to lend your library to one other person, who could play a different game from you concurrently. There are some people who think Microsoft should just give out shit for free. Why people are disappointed about this is beyond me.
So was this actually confirmed or just speculation? I imagine it was probably the case but we will never fully know right now it is canned? There are other parties saying it was the full game right?
Perhaps it was 60 minutes but then changed to full game during the bad press of DRM and E3 and then fully scrapped when minds weren't changed further from that. Probably not being MS (and they didn't mention it) but either way it's gone now sooo

This glorified demo/marketing scheme... I don't even.
I'm just laughing my ass off at people who thought they'd be able to split the cost of games between 10 people and all play different games simultaneously. People who talked about it being the #gamechanger that made all of the DRM and no real lending, unrestricted resale or gifting. The "this is the future" "get with the times" "this is worth it" people.
Just lol.
And the kicker is that even without all the DRM and restrictions they could still implement this scheme.

Does that mean the free game they are giving away is yours to keep as long as youh have gold?
We were toying around with a limit on the number of times members could access the shared game (as to discourage gamers from simply beating the game by doing multiple playthroughs).
Not really. I have PS+ and I never use that feature because I don't want to download a whole game to play for one hour.
It with the ps4 it'll all change if they can get it to workNot really. I have PS+ and I don't use that feature because I don't want to download a whole game to play for one hour.
It would fly in the face of everything they've been saying.
"over-delivering on value"
If they would have announced this they would have been the laughing stock of the industry, they already are to an extent but to give up consumer rights for a 60 minute demo? GTFO MS.

would you use the feature if you could stream it via Gaikai or only must download around 20% of the game to start it?
Haha, I was thinking about this too. Dean really has to do a book on this.Xbox Deboned: The Real Story behind Microsoft's Next-Generation Trainwreck by Dean Takahashi
Dude... you wouldn't!
You actually downloaded a car?
a little bit.
It's amazing that just now people are realizing that everything coming from Microsoft PR is complete and other bullshit. This is after a generation of:
"The Xbox 360 is all about choice." (your only choice is overpriced HDs and wi-fi adapters)
"We have special technology in our hard drives, that's why they have a premium price." (GTFO)
"Just because HD DVD lost, doesn't mean Blu-Ray won." (my favorite)
"Things break." (Get fucked)

I totally pictured the Jack Nicholson "yes, yes" nodding gif as I read this.Yes, yes, defend it!

Guess leaving out the detail 'for one hour' wasn't considered that important.

Xbox One by Dummies.
Wait, he also says this:
So it looks like after 60 minutes (max) was up, you could just 're-borrow' the game to keep playing, as long as they didn't have any limits on the number of times the game could be 'borrowed'.
That's the thing. I was one of those thinking it was the good version, because frankly, it was made to sound that way.
Ragging on people who were simply accepting what they were hearing isn't fair (not saying you were).
I'll still miss discless gaming though. That was my number one feature I was looking forward to.

i don't get it? you can still download the game and that is discless gaming right? unless you are talking of buying a disk and then installing it just so you can get rid of disc which I would say is probably still going to happen but might be optional. we shall see.
