GameFreak cited problems with allowing people to trade. They didn't want to do it if they weren't able to get that working.
A little silly, but I can kinda see where they are coming from.

Or we could've left that slot open for Lapras, had a good Pokemon to cover our rock weakness, a water type move to take on Pokemon Tower, and a painless Surf Pokemon to continue progress.
The simplest strategy had been ruled out when Eevee took the slot, and moreso when it was evolved into Flareon.
The truth will come out at Pokemon Tower
First we deposited Pidgeot and stepped away. We somehow came back, withdrew Pidgeot and then released Jay Leno first, then Abby...

I wouldn't mind replaying the remake, but that is on the GBA. With the Gen II remake on DS at least more possible, but are like $40 used at Gamestop.. I'd love nothing more than to play Gen 1 agian. (along side playing the current gen of course)
It also learns ice beam naturally, which is an amazing move for the elite four. But the chat will probably skip over it.

Lapras will be revealed to be the true carry? We're doing Silph first and need a surf Pokemon. Lapras is really the only reliable water Pokemon we have access too.
The problem is less with Eevee itself, and more that it derailed the entire plan and forced many risky moves that backfired. If there was a second free slot at the time, Eevee would've been welcome.

Simpler sure, but we're still running into the real problem. No one can level with Pidgeot hogging all the exp, and Pidgeot can't carry the team forever. Whether Lapras, Drowzee or an eeveelution, we need someone, anyone, other than Pidgeot. If we didn't get Eevee and just got Lapras, fine. If we left Pidgeot in the PC and grinded the others, fine. But there is one pokemon who is not irreplaceable going forward and that pokemon is Pidgeot.
I hear that brother.
It's as if these heretics believe that eeveelution is actually a thing.

It's a damn shame. There must be a way to fix this issue. But yeah, I can understand why they don't want to release a compromised version of their game. Trading has always been a major component of the Pokemon franchise (the greatest one, in fact).
Because Nintendo.
Also, this. They need to wake up and go all out if they want to succeed or at least regain an honourable place in the video game industry, sales-wise.
Here I was, hoping that Nintendo would hear about this stream and that something good would come out of it. Oh well, maybe someday.

Oddish will become a good asset eventually, but for now... useless.

Drowzee should get levels in Pokemon tower since it hits for SE and can't get hit back. I hope Rattata doesn't get any burn, Raticate is just...awful.
Hitmonlee is great to have if they ever even get back there.
Optimal team right now is: Pidgeot, Hypno, Flareon, Hitmonlee, Lapras, Omastar.
When I say optimal I mean in your dreams.

You act like those are guarantees and not completely unlikely events. =)
Lapras will have time to level up at Pokemon Tower with little risk. Also, we have infinite grinding time, its just a matter of steering us towards a patch of safe grass. And Surf is very powerful and impossible to overwrite.
Vaporean would have been the best outcome, but there was a lot of risk involved and as such it backfired tremendously. Now we still need to free a slot for a surfer and lost our potentially powerful Abby.
Hitmonlee is great, but also fills a slot and can't touch ghosts either (or surf, iirc).
Nintendo doesn't like money.
I bet if they caught wind of this stream they'd demand it be taken down.

Man reading that google doc to catch up... Helix Fossil is in the PC? I'm glad our true God is safe... but how will we win any gym matches without being able to consult him? These could be dark days ahead.
