Batman: Arkham Knight (PC/PS4/XB1, 2014) - TRAILER - Driveable Batmobile

Incredible trailer. So hyped right now.

Think it also hints at just how fluid it will be to enter/exit batmobile for combat/traversal.

the only thing that would get me excited with whats shown so far is freeflow combat into vehicle while keeping combo, or somehow use batmobile in combos.

You know what would validate this trailer?

Have Bruce Wayne die at the end, truly end the Arkham series once and for all. That will and testament would gain even more meaning if Batman bites the dust doing what he loved, buying expensive gaudy armor and driving in his super car. Of course there will be other Batman games, but Bruce dying would be a satisfying conclusion.

Judging from how these games take inspiration from the Nolan movies, you might just get your wish. (See: Batmobile rising from underneath lake = underwater platforms in the batcave in TDKR).

.... Have to whine again about how tired I am of this game's UE3 style..... >.>

Batman must end so that the Justice League may rise, This is the way of things.

Glad WB and DC arent forcing anyone to make movie based games, and instead having movie costumes as an option, not the focus.....they are comic games first and foremost

Looks like batman with a fast car. For some reason I wish a game had an original villain or something, something to shake things up more than just "batmobile".

I mean, I'm sure it will be quality. It just looks like the batman game anyone could have predicted. Of course, maybe I'm dwelling too much on an initial trailer with no gameplay.

Pffft, you don't like the Arkham Origins style of looks-like-Nolan-but-isn't-Nolan?

The art looks dry and pretty uninspired. Obviously work went in, but it's just the typical Batman schlock. I'd like to see more inspiration from the comics and less from Nolan's work. Hell I'd rather have them snag some ideas from the Burton films, at least those had interesting environments.

I'm sure it'll be a great game, but it sure looks bland.

I've got a bad feeling about this.

Yes it's next gen but I know already what Batmobile means: titanium roadblocks everywhere so you can't just constantly run over goons with your car and must go hand to hand combat. Just like in Halo and so many other games, where there suddenely the only way to progress is going through a narrow tight spot, no car can't fit through.

I hope the game let's us go into buildings more instead of using the aforementioned technique.

Wish there was a gameplay trailer, but this isn't all that surprising. Can't wait to see nextgen Batman in action.

Has Messi posted yet? Dude's probably hyped over playable Harley lol

Agreed. I think they're going to provide some decent reasoning behind the fallout of Joker's death in this game and what the hell is going on. Plus, if they kill off Bruce in this game, it opens up the universe to Dick Grayson (my personal favorite DC character) or Terry McGinnis as Batman.

I'd imagine it's way too "early" for Terry McGinnis if he ever shows up in any medium outside of comics again (they had to be sneaky as frig to finally get his story fully told in animated form).

Batman [check]
On PS4 [check]
Rocksteady developed [check]

Despite some of the negativity I'll be picking this up day one. Batman has always been my favorite and I loved AA and AC. AO sucked but I have that as well. This game will be a must for me :)

Not sure if they are going to top the earlier arkham games for me as they already had all my favorite villains represented
Scarecrow- Pumped he is the main villain in this one
Clayface and Mad Hatter

Batman games fits really well the Winter time of the year so playing a game like that during that time will be great in my opinion.

One thing I hope with better effects and better particles implemented (we can only hope) is better/bigger weather conditions like heavy rain or snow. Not only it can look good but to me, they add to the the immersion and there's nothing better than playing a game like that when it's cold outside with some warm coffee/tea on the side. :)

Fantastic trailer... wonder how they'll manage to squeeze the joker into this one? You just know they will. And I'm totally cool with that. Cannot freaking wait for this on my PS4

I was on board with this trailer until the line "Do not be frivolous with this wealth, please do not waste it all on fast cars and outrageous clothes" as they were showing the Batmobile/Batsuit. That was corny as fuck.

Awesome. All hype for a new Batman game hinged entirely on whether or not Rocksteady was the dev. Rocksteady + next gen exclusive? I'm there.

Oh shit I didn't expect it to come this year. That means it's likely a Oct/Nov release, and perhaps a HD collection of the old games on August, I may go back and play Arkham Origins, I haven't actually played the PC versions of Asylum and Origins, but since then I got a new gaming PC, Origins should be a good leap for me in comparison to PS3 version of City.

Still using CG trailers eh? Meh.

This will be a fun rental perhaps but this series has worn out its welcome with me. Unless they completely revamp the combat.

Bring out the "No Fun Allowed" sign, but if this game's big new thing is the ability to drive a car, I just don't see the excitement being justified.

Sure, Rocksteady's bound to add fun gadgets to the car, but honestly, the thought of another commuting open-world sim is abhorrent to me, particularly when the grapple-glide was such an innovative and genuinely enjoyable way to move around.

With Joker
dead
he's already dead inside... may as well finish the job!

The Arkham games have always been about chaos and insanity, the only way Bruce will feel at peace is by death. Bruce ends up sacrificing himself to save all of Gotham, all the villains get locked up again. Bruce recorded a testament for Robin that he needs to carry the torch to keep the the ray of hope lit for Gotham.

Dick Grayson becomes the new Batman, and a new Batman videogame series is created.

I thought the trailer was pretty corny. I enjoyed the other Rocksteady Batman titles. I'm hoping this one brings a bit more to the table, though.

I'm probably in the minority here, but the trailer didn't really blow me away. I didn't get the "ohhhh shiiiit" feeling at all. The only thing that got me hyped was the apparent return of
Scarecrow, and the fact they're going for Azrael's prophecy
as the main setting. For the rest kinda underwhelming if you ask me, this doesn't look at all like the Bruce from AA and AC, looks much more like AO.

Also, and I'm probably going to get crucified by saying this lol, I'm not so sure if I'd like the Batmobile. Not sure how it would work, but in Rocksteady we trust. Time will tell.

Edit: corny title, too, if you ask me. Arkham Legacy would sound much better for a conclusion to the Rocksteady trilogy.

The Batmobile is front and center in the trailer. Wonder to what extent it will feature in the game. If it can be summoned at any point, it would drastically change map/level design compared to the previous games.

Driving dat Batmobile. YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!

I like the design. It's sort of hybrid between Nolan's tumbler and the more iconic sleek sport car look.

I want to see a gameplay trailer though. CG trailers for video games are so stupid.

If we see Hush, and if we see Red Hood, I could see that happening.

Especially after Arkham City in the Harley's Revenge DLC Bruce seemed death-bound. I think it's Dick's time to own the cowl.

Not sure which movies you've been watching, but the art style in these games is far closer to TAS and Burton than Nolan.
