Is this new character artwork? I don't recall seeing these before.

In before we get someone posting about how the game is "ruined" without the dual screens.

Can't wait to replay through again, even sans puzzles.

How exactly is this going to work? Like a choose your own adventure?

e: Site's back up, I see now. I feel like the actual puzzles added a lot of tension to the game.

Whatever happened to the iOS version of 999 that was supposed to launch Q4 2013? Did it get cancelled in favor of this? I hear great things about the games, and I have VLR thanks to PS+, but I wanted to play 999 (no DS).

The story just went way over the top in the end. Not a fan of these Japanese stories which drift too much into science fiction at some point.

Thinking about playing this to refresh my memory beforing diving into VLR. Hopefully good sales of this port encourage production of a third game in the series.

Yeah, I don't really give a shit about that at this point. Been waiting on this to get to VLR and I'm not buying a DS/3DS/etc for one game.

Isn't this what Japan got too? The game minus the puzzles which basically leaves just the story?

I guess there isn't an android version? I probably wouldn't touch it because it doesn't have the puzzles. But I'd buy to support Aksys in their effort to bring more VNs.

So hyped! Just bought Banshees Last Cry a while ago and loving it. Will be in for this day one, even though I have the DS version. Keep em coming.

You shouldn't avoid it for the lack of puzzles. Those weren't even that noteworthy.

Yeah, I'm in that boat. I love VNs, BLC was awesome and even though I completed 999 on DS, I'll give this a try. I didn't particularly like the puzzles in 999 so I won't mind the pure novel format.

Plus, anything to send sugnals that there's a market for the genre, on all platforms.

Edit: not to bitch, but Aksys, couldn't you have chosen another date? It releases 1 day apart from SMT iOS, right in the middle of a very busy month. I have an intuition the audiences for this, SMT, Dark Souls 2 and FFX/X-2 intersect quite a bit.

Will it really make sense to buy this version? I imagine the puzzles were at least somewhat important in the original game?

I have 999 for DS (to play on my 3dsxl). However I haven't started it and my video game playing time is limited due to work and stuff. Does 999 on iOS save significantly more time and do I miss anything story related? I can live without the puzzles, really just want the story so I can play the sequel.

Play the DS version of 999 over this one. It is a much better experience.

An awesome opportunity for those with a Vita and iOS device at hand to get the backstory about the Zero Escape saga. Will buy this to show support for a Zero Escape 3.

I just bought the DS version damn it. Would have preferred to play on iOS :<

DS version is superior. Stick with it. It will make sense after you finish the game.

Plus the DS version has puzzles. This one does not. It's all story.
