I've been working on a quality character, but now that I've finished Dragon Shrine, it's kind of boring. All of the halberds have the same moveset, and none of the broadswords feel that exciting either. What do?

Well, damn. The
Iron Keep
is about the only place I have left to do besides FREE FALLIN' and it's kicking my ass. I can't even get summoned there to see my path ahead.

Try different weapons some of the boss ones like the drake wing ultra greatsword have special R2 attacks. And it scales B for dex for some reason whilst being D for strength. Or try the Gyrm axe it's great axe move set whilst being an axe..

After the Pursuer/First boss
bunch of enemies and no light at the end of the tunnel in sight.

I actually meant to say NG, without the +.

My point was that after over 90 hours I still haven't beaten the game :p

I feel like you suck. Ate a crystal soul spear recently?

But in all seriousness, I still feel like I felt since weeks: the game clearly wasn't built to be played entirely without ambient lighting.

dayam dude lol

After crushing the skulls of a dozen wizards with that big meaty club, its hard to have any respsect =p

I do think it can be a bit severe, and the ENB does offer the choice of adjusting it. I plan to play with it another time an try to find a nice middle ground where the torch will be helpful, but not necessarily feel like you can't see anything at all without it.

To adjust the flame glow and character halo glow without wrecking the rest of the lighting (it seems to be all tied in to the bloom, DoF glimmer, and the HDR adaption, which you've already noticed) you adjust the pointlightingcurveday/night a decimal point or two lower.

Or you can do what I do and just use the in-game brightness slider and knock it up one or two notches :)

Also, I've played up to Iron Keep with the mod on. I imagine the rest of the game is beatable too. Considering the amount of ambient light in the vanilla version, it's surprising how many sconces are near tunnels and dark alleyways. Everywhere that the game goes pitch black with the mod, there's a nearby sconce to help you.

I basically absorbed everything I can do in this game so far. Now I just want to know what the fuck is going on with the lore. Like how
King Vendrick is human but also 8 feet tall. And how the Giants of DaS2 look nothing like the Giants from DaS1. Or why the Chosen Undead's kooky adventure in Lordran doesn't even get a footnote in the history books.

On the one hand that makes sense and is cool but on the other would make it too hard for me. I like Durante's GeDoSaTo included post processing thing that darkens things slightly but not too much as to make you need a torch all the time.

Would be interesting doing a playthrough like that though.

Yeah, I feel that it's pretty much perfect actually. You get just the right amount of dark blacks, especially if you tweak in-game brightness just a little.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up! That'll be a lot easier than tweaking every single settings to try and see what they all do.

Before the influx of new players I updated the dual wielding table I did for the tips page in the other thread. Would you kindly edit in the newest version to the tips page?

Ah, I looked in the other Wiki and didn't bother to check that one, sorry for that.

The Bonfire next to the
Rat King
applies, in case anyone is wondering.

Yeah to be clear, you do have to be in true NG+ for the Dingy set. Which sucks hosewater because I always wore that top with my Black Leather Pants on my mage character in DS because it looks like a badass poncho. :(

Hey guys, I wanted to throw up a little comparison of WickFutts ENB with the ambient light removed, next to the vanilla game, and get your thoughts on it.

Man, I really want texture override while using ENB. I love the effects ENB has so when high res packs start coming out, I don't think I'll be able to go back to Sweetfx.

Shrine of Amana is still some annoying shit on my second playthrough.

I'm getting really tired of those psychic mages with tracking soul arrows and ridiculous aggro ranges!

Atleast I should know better than to accidentally fall into the deep water and die instantly this time. :p

As a small send off to the PC thread, we should admire something only the PC can do.

Shrime of Amana will forever be my hate love place of DS2. I love its art design but I absolutely despise those mages with their bullshit homing soul arrows.

Last page before this gets fused with the other OT in the desolate desert that it is the community sub-forum. Bye Guys :(

All good things must come to an end.

never left the stone age
You only took off 10% of the skeleton lords lifebar with 2 people?

Damn man, get gud already.

I went into the Skelly Lair without knowing what I was getting myself into. Turns out Drangleic Sword+1 was just what the doctor ordered. 4/5 hits per skelly lord, they were all dead before the final skeleton enemies had spawned. Used 1 Estus.

I'd rather a sequel best archery ever next to monster hunter.

imagine using mouse aiming with the bow and arrows

Imagine being able to fire rope arrows that trip up or pull down bigger enemies

Imagine chasing a giant flying beast bounty on horse back in multiplayer where one person steers and the other fires a rope arrow into the beast, then climbs up the rope while goblin mobs try knock them out the sky

yeah fuck this place. I'm there in NG now and they start attacking before I can even see them. And I'm basically using ranged because fuck this.
