Little oddities that build up certainly do discredit a leak. Of course they don't disprove it, because that's impossible without some sort of official statement. But the argument that "Don't use oddities and alleged mistakes as proof" is a poor one, because the alternative is just accepting the image as truth.

Oddities are completely subjective though. Most are just people in denial saying something doesn't "feel" right. They should be completely discounted.

I think the idea is the footage is from a capture device and someone took pictures of it with a shitty phone camera. However if I was a leaker, I would be getting video of that shit, which would immediately be a hundred times more convincing than a picture.

Presumably clones with slight modifications aren't equal in development time to building a completely new character, especially ones as similar as pit/dark pit where the changes in modelling could easily come down to a palette swap.

Oddities based on given information and history aren't subjective. It's accurate to say that things can change, and that the assumptions could be incorrect. However it's not accurate to say that the observation that a player character having a level much like a cpu is strange is "subjective." It's objectively strange. That isn't to say it's impossible. It is just strange, and could have been a mistake.

SmashBoards mods said it was real and then said it was fake and then said it was missing characters.
One of them also got banned from GAF because he called us all TooBigots and said we hated DKC because we didn't want K Rool playable.
I want to believe in it, but it seems too good to be true! Honestly, I'd be pretty upset if Wolf was cut; but if we got Ridley and Mewtwo in exchange, I'd be more than happy.

It was mentioned earlier, but if you look hard you will notice faint freckles, though they aren't as noticeable as the NES design. It's easier to see by messing with the contrast of the pic.

There was a rumor a very long time ago, right about when the original text based Duck Hunt Dog leak came out, that said that the Smashboards mods had created that leak as a test for future fake leaks. If future leaks copied that leak or things in it, it meant it was fake.
However that doesn't really make any sense and seemed to just be a conspiracy theory to try and disprove the original text leak (which honestly I didn't really believe either)

Playable Mother Brain would be about Bowser size, but would be much lighter because of how squishy she is. She would fight from inside a glass case on top of a mechanical platform using various projectiles, with the glass case taking visible damage as her % rises. When the glass is completely gone, she can transform into her monster form.

So on reddit, someone said the Polar Bear from Smash Run was a Pic of the Day that was pulled after a little bit and replaced with a picture of Bullet Bill.
Is that true? I didn't know that, I always assumed that picture was from a press kit or something.

The images aren't great quality, and I'm sure that there's enough stock images of furniture to easily make a low quality new room. I still believe this leak is fake, but it has a lot of work put into it; I'll give it that.

Well, not just that. Neo Zero kept telling us that he got sources from some people then when they posted their. When we started doubt the sources, he backtracked. I guess he just want to have legit leaks under his watch. Now he and moderators told everyone that it's real, then suddenly they said that it's fake. NOW they said that it's real but DLC list is fake.
They wouldn't disclose the rumors, and kept to themselves. I think that's smart move on Neo Zero's behalf because I'm tired of him making fool out of himself because I kept seeing people making fun of him. I felt bad for him but I'm not sure if I should but I did anyway.

There was a polar bear pic posted on the site one day that was unrelated to the actual pic of the day, which was a set of images for the Bullet Bill item. We don't know that the picture was "pulled," chances are whoever updates the website just goofed.
