Yeah... but like, not Bayonetta 2 either, and the first one was big outside of Nintendo circles, right? It almost seems like there's a ... conspiracy...
The GB crew have never really been big on nintendo in general, and Smash is a pretty unorthodox fighting game so it doesn't necessarily pick up on Jeff's fighting game radar. I'm sure Dan will make them play it more extensively.
To be fair though, if you asked me what's coming out this summer I'd only be able to say persona Q because I can't seem to remember anything else.

Have we seen any evidence of mesh changes with character alts this time around? Or is it all still just texture changes?... I feel like it's just texture changes, I remember Skyward Sword Link's texture looking really strange on the standard Smash model in one of the POTDs.
Side note, I love the colors of that NES-Link alt in Brawl

I'd be down for that. Also, a little disappointed about Ghirahim; he's probably never coming back, but we do need some more pure villains, and I can see him having a goofy, contorted fencing style of fighting.

They're not who I go to when I want to hear about nintendo. They don't dislike nintendo, but it's never at the forefront of their gaming tastes. Not really their fault.

Little Mac hoodie is the simple one. Wii Fit Trainer's male alt and Robin's female alt are pretty big changes, though? As are Villager's other-gendered alt costumes.
There's also stuff from past games like Pikachu's hats.

Zero suit alts from Fusion and Zero Mission ending have their own model (most visible in the boots/leg transition, which don't exist in the standard Zero Suit costume since it's a full bodysuit).
There's also Little Mac's coat alt, and obviously the gender swaps of Villager, Robin and Wii Fit Trainer, and the villager variations within their own gender.

OH yeah, nice! I don't think Samus's alt had a different mesh, just because they're both literally skin tight anyway... but yeah, the hoodie.
I guess they did things with hats last time too, huh? Pikachu and Jiggy have always had hat-related alts... I wish there were more substantial changes, but it's no biggie.
*EDIT* Wow, yeah, I forgot about lots of much bigger changes, practically entire different characters mapped onto the same character as alts (Male/Female Wii Fit and Robin being the prime examples), thanks for the reminder!
Ha, did you guys see that Sakurai has officially de-confirmed the leaks on our Real/Fake survey? Also, some user named EyeLoveGifs posted a sarcastic comment about how the Mario Gifs prove it true. Very clever, guys. /sarcasm

Oh yeah, I forgot all about the gender swap alts.
Lucina was almost an alt too, further indicating that the devs might be more open to alt costumes with significant changes.
Of course we also have the Mii's with all sorts of outfits. But in particular, it was mentioned that Mii Gunner's arm cannon could change with the outfit. They may all have something similar.
I couldn't really fault them for it. They just have different tastes/priorities than I do.

Like the rest of the UI, cursors can change during development. E3 was a long time ago.
It's not any sort of proof of anything. If we saw newer footage and it was still using that same cursor, though, then we'd have something.

Bolded for the refutation win. If nothing else, it "leans" forward a little when you select your character, but I think it's in a constant state of animation, so of course it would look different.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to be showing. That the icons are smaller in the leak? Not surprising, since there are more characters unlocked. That the hand is in a slightly different position? Also not surprising, since the hand has always moved: when you select something, it pokes forward.
The Wii U build has a yellow scrolling background besides every character portrait, and their icons are more wide.

Judging by the size of his sword, more likely an Ike clone if he's a clone of anyone, but I also know nothing about Shulk.

Bowser Jr fought in the clown car and had Koopalings alts (each character has 8 costumes according to the leak, so I guess there are no alt colors for Bowser Jr)
Duck Hunt let you control the dog, who attacked with the ducks in sort of a team fashion.
Shulk could change stances with his Monando, which forms changing things like speed and damage output.

We've been discussing the leak for the entire thread. It won't end unless Sakurai reveals something that conflicts it.
Ridley's Size, Fire Emblem Lewd Characters, To Clone or Not to Clone, etc.
