Forza Motorsport 5 |OT| Open wheel, tyre squeal, orange peel, dat next-gen feel

Thanks! I definitely agree. It would be awesome to have actual license plates, right know it's not good at all, since they are just stickers, and many cars cannot have them, since the license plate area is unpaintable.

My idea is this:

-Add as a body upgrade front and rear license plate options. (Along with bumpers, sideskirts, hoods...)
-Allow us to choose between 3 models for both front and rear. US Spec one (tall, narrow), Euro Spec (short, wide) and Australian Spec (short, wideness between US and Euro)
-Add two more zones in the livery editor, so it ends as follows: (front plate (if installed), front bumper, left side, hood and roof, right side, rear, rear plate (if installed), spoiler)

And everyone's happy. And if you think about it, it's not really a big work. Make 3 sizes, place them on every car (the same work needed to made for the Forza aero kits) and...pretty much that.

I hope someday we'll be able to see something like this!

(Also, the Top Gear Astra license plate is in my..."storefront", IDK how to call it)

That's a fine suggestion Jorge, hopefully somebody takes note, imo just looking at your photos should be enough to consider making them.

I'm sure T10 have a few triangles spare to model a plate.

Gonna grab the Vauxhall one.

I really hope they can. It's a nice customization touch, and not very tech/time demanding at all, considering the results. They don't even need to make templates (like Midnight Club LA did, with all 50 US states, for example), if they need that time for other things.

They need to model those 3 types of sizes, though, not only to make people able to make almost any plate in the world, but also, because some cars need them. Most american cars need a US Spec one, most european cars, have euro sized ones, and some like the Alfa Giulietta, need Australian sized plates, since the grill is in the middle, and a shorter euro plate is fitted in the side of the bumper (in real life, it would be a sightly shorter Australian one, but I don't think they're going to waste so much time looking at the size available for every car, and what kind of plates can fit)

Also, not only real plates could be added, but sponsor logos for racing cars, or maybe a racing number/racer name for cups and races. Oh, the possibilities!

And since we were talking about customization...well, there's a lot of things that would be great to see, of course. But there's something that bugs me since the beggining of the series.

Tire brands. I really miss them. Now at least we have whitewalls, which are amazing on vintage cars, but...I can't see a F1 car without "Pirelli P Zero" or a offroad car without "BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A", and of course, remember FM2 for example, where you were able to change the brand of your tires, but...you never got to see it.

I think this is related to licenses somehow, but it would be awesome to finally see them on the cars.

Man I spend more time in autovista and photomode than actually racing. These cars are pure art!

Yeah, I think it helps with the sense of speed on open wheel cars too where you can see the inside of the tyre, driving the E21 in cockpit view I can barely tell if the wheels are rotating or not like when I've locked up. With the Formula E the tread pattern helps no end.

Even some generic branding would be enough for me. Tyre side wall markings adds a lot of character to the car..

Has anyone actually ever played this game in multiplayer? The reason I ask is, I bought my Xbone 2 days ago. I bought forza and titanfall. My xbone is in my routers DMZ (so please don't tell me to forward my ports) and I have an open NAT. I can play titanfall fine with a 20ms ping. I can get all the drivatars and rivals constantly bombarding me while I play forza. However for 2 days off and on I cannot get into a single race lobby. Unable to join messages. This so frustrating. Worst of all I bought the game digital so I'm stuck with it.

Try going into your settings and enabling IPsec. I bought my system on day one and had never been able to get it to work (never bothered finding out a fix) until last week. Switched that one setting and it's all good now.

Checking in for today's races. We are just racing for fun and to mock Spades for getting "Time Exclusive" banned :)

Race time is 2:00pm EST. Who's in? I know there is a lot of new folks here. Feel free to jump in. Add me, GT: zorbs and let me know you want it. I'll send invites around 2:00. We will test out the new car pack and talk next league series.

Yeah I can't even make a private match. This is destroying my view of the xbone.

We've managed a whole tournament over the last two months so definitely working

We've had our hickups though.
sometimes being in any kind of party will mess up your ability to join a game, at that point i usually restart the whole console and try to join the lobby in question before getting into any kind of party.

Huge difference between a hiccup and no ability to play online ever.

Can anyone recommend some C class cars/tunes for an average to rubbish driver? I like using the CRX Mugen(?) because it handles like a champ but the acceleration/speed aren't that great. I've won a few online races with it but if I get bashed off (which happens frequently!) I can never catch up.

I'd have to have a proper look but there's a RWD setup for the '97 Civic I use often, the 1965 Mini seems to do well online in C class but I haven't taken mine out of D class.

Since I was on holidays, I wasn't able to share my take on some of the new cars until now :

I was a bit disappointed that they didn't model the stationary wheel caps of the Rolls. I wonder if it's a limit of the engine or if they just didn't bother.

Edit : Three more of the Mustang.

Alan from Team VVV shows FM5 on triple screens at GamesCom:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5rJ2uyglOM

Enjoy ;)

Im a projector guy so I would never do triple screen, but I want the option in there so I could adjust the FOV.

And he mentioned not having to deal with bikes in the video, as much as I hated them in PGR 4 I would love to have some bikes on the ring to make it even more realistic. Whenever someone records a lap on the ring you always see a few motorcycles.

Looks terrific but again like Forza 4 the slightly pitched down angle of the default camera really screws up the view under braking, especially when changing the fov. Nothing but a face full of asphalt.

I'm sure it's only done to increase the sense of speed but if you are going to fuck with something like that it has to be adjustable.

Or go back to F2 and F3's camera.

Wish they'd showcased FH2 like this.

When sat straight on to it you don't really notice any strange effects as they fall outside your line of sight. Triple screens are great for enhancing speed and gaining extra visibility around the car.

Read something on GTPlanet earlier, a rumour of FM going to 3 year cycles. Not that long ago I'm sure Dan said they were optimised and commited to delivering an FM every 2 years.

Could there be anything in the rumour?

that would be absolutely terrific for the game. with three years i think t10 could generate a load more content as well as really add new features (time of day!) with each new game. i really hope its true.

Trademark for "Forza Hub" was just approved by the US trademark office.

So, seems like the Halo Channel that was announced at Gamescom

"Entertainment services, namely, providing interactive, multiplayer game services for video games, namely, charting progress and accomplishments of users in a series of video games; providing information about video games; providing a web site featuring information in the field of video games; providing a web-based online portal in the field of video games."

Almost that time of year, had to recreate my best money maker........................not like I would actually get any credits in FM5.

Seriously fix this for the next game Turn 10!

So where are the good leagues/clubs hiding in this game?

I'm late to the party but I cannot seem to find many at all through Google.
