I raid on WoW. I know about spending time. The difference is when you get guaranteed loot, someone in your party WILL get better gear. Which will help you the next week. I'd rather have that and not get loot, rather than a chance of getting loot and it being something I might not need.

Yet your friends may get those upgrades even if you personally get items that you don't need anymore again. They may have just got upgrades and you got mats for upgrading gear further.

It doesn't take anywhere near 4 hours your second time through. Took us 1 hour and 11 minutes (I looked) to do it our second time.

Pre-made group can clear it sick fast, yes, but there is a lot of us who has to PUG it. That shit can and will take hours upon hours with large chance it never gets completed 100%. I already shiver when I think that I need look up PUG for VoG soon :D

I appreciate your perspective here, thank you for taking the time. It's pretty interesting to see all the different perspectives approaching this game and trying to get the most out of it. Nearly every single point you have raised here reads to me like a point in favor of Destiny-style raiding over WoW-style for my personal preferences.
I agree, everyone has their personal preferences. As I said for me they are too stressful and grueling, WoW has a lot more ways and options to reduce the stress or relieve it in comparison. Personally I wouldn't want to go on a multi game grind in crucible or rumble either, that's just not fun for me and at most I can only handle one or two matches at a time.

Anyone bought Crucible gear yet? Is there a cap on the amount of marks I can have? Because suddenly my glimmer got capped.

Also as a Hunter, does anyone focus on a single stat or do you mix it up? Im not sure what I like better, my main focus is pvp.

200 marks is the cap.

I've bought three pieces already off of New Monarchy. The cap on marks is 200

200 marks in the bank at any one time.

If you earn more than that your weekly 100 ticks down but you lose the marks. So it's best to spend them.

Okay, squid. You win.

That's how I've always understood what raiding is. I've never really had the opportunity before because I'm a) not really hardcore, probably wouldn't get a "slot" with a raiding guild and b) the emphasis on memorization over skill in traditional MMO raiding is very off-putting to me.

My mistake, I apologize. How many?

As of now, you can have anywhere between 10 and 25 and the raid will scale accordingly :)

Does an exotic chest have more light than a helm?

do they both break down to the same mats?

Thinking about what I am going to buy from Xur this weekend.

It's good to largely focus on two things and have maybe a bit of the third. Depending on how often you use grenades you might not want discipline. Warlocks for example, especially sunbros, definitely want discipline and intelligence for grenade spam.

I also think that is not a fair statement. There is plenty of skill and decision making involved in WoW raiding, it just does not heavily depend on reflexes like FPS.

I haven't been getting enough sleep because of this game, and now I feel like I'm on the verge of getting sick. (It's raining here today too, which doesn't help.)

I'm tempted to go home and just sleep right after work, but... then I'd miss out on the daily bounties.

Any good ones?

Yeah but you can have both =p
I think your perspective is totally valid. I appreciate your thoughts on the aspects of the system that have failed you- especially in light of the of the quote above (your approach is like "keep the good reward methods that exist, plus add more/other/better chances"). I don't agree but it is certainly a mere matter of preference. From my perspective, the implementation of your changes would mean that I was done with the game right now, or at least very close, even though you're currently farther along than I am. I would have, and this is not any exaggeration, somewhere on the order of 3 times as much legendary/exotic gear, and more than enough light to be at 29, with far more of the "ideal slot" pieces filled than I have currently. Having gotten there substantially sooner than I will under the current system would not improve the game for me, while it would have for you. That's a fundamental difference and there's nothing wrong with either perspective.

Mhm, like you mention in the latter, my plans for Destiny raid are pugging it. There's no reason for a guild to do it together (Other than the achievement..but I don't really care about those). In WoW, doing it together with a group is well...you set a raiding schedule(Sometimes it can be like, Tuesday-Thursday, Friday-Sunday), you show up on those days, you work together to get materials for food and potions, flasks, you work out on strategies...it's a bonding experience. You work together on distributing the loot. That's something that missing in Destiny. Sure, you can do it with the same group of friends, for alot of people(I'm sure), raiding weekly isn't going to be a priority. So Pugging becomes the most effective way,and my thought process is 'Why am I going to pug this for a chance of loot?'.

It's the same for pugging in WoW-You do it for two reasons. One, for a chance of loot. Or two, to actually get the achievement for the raid which will give you leverage in joining a raiding guild and raiding weekly for guaranteed loot and meeting new people.

I feel if Bungie fleshes out the clan stuff, maybe adds erm, mounts(Ships and Sparrows) to achievements/accomplishments...it'd come along way for people to start organizing for it.

There are no exotic bounty requirements that I would hesitate to accomplish in exchange for that weapon

I would dismantle all my legendaries, my beloved Pocket Infinity, Gjallarhorn, and Thunderlord. I would reset my Ranks to zero and have to earn them back from -200 each. I would score 500 arc damage shots to the back of a Dreg's knee. I would allow myself to lose 300 crucible matches in a row.

RNGesus you know i have not asked you for much. this is my only request. Xur cannot aid me because he's forbidden to touch the materials in the "PS Exclusive" crate. The Cryptarch desires only my pain and my tears. You are my only hope.

i must have it.

Restoration. lol

I'm a level 21 and lucked into Restoration last night--got to the dark zone and got steamrolled by a few Shanks with fire shields. All I had to fight it was a fire-laced sniper rifle...I couldn't even start to kill them and went to orbit feeling like a huge loser.

Wish there was some sort of way to bridge the gap between the queen missions and level 20. At this point they're just as impossible to me as the raids. is my best option to just keep grinding for high light gear? Sucks.

god dammit

What if he offers Fate of All Fools this week? Or MIDA? I only have 17! How do I get six more?!

If you've exhausted all the set rewards, Cave Farm will very likely net you 6 in time if you put a few hours in...

If you can bring yourself to do it.

Can't do Nightfall I'm only level 24 :(

Can you do the heroic strike more than once and get the coins?

You're rewarded for each tier.
