People are being pretty quick to judge the supers while completely ignoring the part where you can only do them from rage, which you can control (ala Tekken 6) unlike Ultras in SF4.

If anything, that makes them even more of a pain in the rear. Supers will be thrown out all the time as a last-ditch effort, freezing gameplay for 4-5 seconds only to whiff or be blocked, making that effort pointless except as a waste of time. Sure there will be effective uses that don't screw up the flow, but I don't think that it'll be a very even split.

Potential movement nerfs are scary. To me, movement is the most appealing part of Tekken.

On the other hand, a lot of changes I were hoping for are in T7. Short combos and no bound = praise the lord.

Maybe they can add a spark filter in the game since there seems to be diverging opinions on whether people want them the way they are right now.

That is super tricky. I cant answer for sure. I tired to do them but couldn't, but the thing is that I don't know if they were removed or is just that because of the framerate that I couldnt.

The majority of the combos I saw where the the same as in Revolution, NOT TT2.

Okay, so framerate is really not making this clear. I just need T6 level of combos with bounds. I did not enjoy the limited-ness with combos in Tekken Revolution.....so I'm really hoping they add that in.

Thanks again for those impressions. Much appreciated.

They've kept a lot of changes from TRevo, and in that game throw breaks worked the same but the throw break window was way bigger. Wouldn't surprise me if they kept that or put the break window somewhere between TTT2 and TRevo.

I'm curious to see if they kept the backwalk animations from TRevo as well, as it helped low level play (and also make low level movement look way less jank) while not really affecting experienced players.

That's not the change I wanted. Wanted throw startup animations to be universal, or more false throw startups to take out reactionary players.

Can anyone confirm that each day of the location test an additional character will be added to the roster?

Maybe, there are two additional ? at the character selection screen.

This is as much as hyperbole as people saying combos take 10-15 seconds.

Exactly. This isn't SF4 where blocked Ultras still have ridiculously long animations that you have to wait through before you can punish them. This is single hit stuff that you can punish right away after blocking. You gotta love how people are quick to insert their own silly narrative and jump to off base conclusions without even playing the game or paying attention to what the shown footage even really means.

Most people seem content with Tekken's terrible throw system, so don't ever hope for that change.

OK, I was a bit worried about this game before but hot damn this looks sick as hell. The lighting looks great, animations look great as always in Tekken, hits have MAJOR impact with those insane sparks.

The Rage Art thing made me nervous at first but the footage makes it clear that they're cool-looking and nowhere near as long and annoying as in SF4 (I love SF4 but getting stuck in a long-ass Ultra just makes me incredibly salty).

And on top of that, we're back to T5:DR combos?? Sign me up.

It's great too see this badass coat for Kazuya from TTT opening.

Makes me wonder if we will see some of the older, classic looks for other characters.
Would be a nice addition, especially since it's Tekken's 20th anniversary.

Did Lars always cover so much ground that quickly his past few appearances? I used him a bit in T6 and Tag2, but he seems like his steps and moves really throw him forward now.

He always covered and absurd amount of ground. It's one of the many things that he's always done well.

Finally. Glad I'm not the only one seeing it.
Someone a few pages back said they look exactly like 6/TTT2 lol

The graphics definitely look a lot more improved. It's not just the sparks/lighting. Character modeling is improved and the stage backgrounds look really good. Especially from this video.

It looks like the Brazil stage from TTT2 on steroids.

So much going on and great diversity in environments.

I would say from the impressions here that mostly everyone is amazed by the graphics. Only a few seem to have a contradictory opinion.

Plus, this is blurry camera footage. I need to see this through in-game 1080p HD resolution.

Game is looking good. Shame I won't be able to get into it. I'll be watching though :)

Never say never. Or uh... "won't". Except when you have to. Um...

Still, it does seem like they're doing a lot to make it more entertaining for the spectators.

From Casual eyes.

Lily looks like her move recovery has decreased.

Her dress animates amazingly

She is still a bitch.

Lars looks less like he is going all over the place. Never liked the look of his moves.

Kazuya looks like a boss, defo gonna try him out.

Heiachi looks worth a try again too.

Not enough steve footage.

Not sure about bryan.

Everyone hits harder. Not a good thing to me.

The hitsparks are fine, you eyes will filter them out over time.

That slowdown at the end of the match however is shite. Its passable in Xrd, but here it looks worse.

The supers at this moment dont look all that viable. Just a way to slow down the pace of the match more than anything.

Katrina or whatever her name is looks awful. Awful artstyle, awful animations and not useful against anyone who knows what they are doing. Dont think she is going to be good choice for beginners at all. Better off being lily and button bash.

I will say never because to get into Tekken is an endeavor I want no part in. Let this wonderful experiment keep going as it is.

Those explosion effects sure look purdy. Any impressions on movement? Did they simplify it at all?Interesting to see that backrolls can't be juggled...
Not liking the news about supers but I'll keep an open mind until I see more footage of them.

Ugh. The biggest hope I had gameplaywise was that throw breaking would be harder, not easier.

The coolest thing about Tekken over the years has been all the awesome throws, and top players are too good with throw breaks. I want to see more throws in high-level play, not less.

I really wanted throws to land as often as they did in VF. VF has some neat throws as well, but Tekken throws are more fun with all the powerbombs and suplexes.

These new animations make the game look worse and better at the same time.

They haven't nailed the character faces at all and the destructible environments look lazy.

will see how finished this game truly is at this state. I mean, nowadays this could be 99% the final product like many console "betas" we get :D OR if they are really being honest and its now 50% complete and will have major things redone before arcade release, some of this stuff can be fixed.

However i dont think environments are high up on anyones lists. You should start accepting them as they are here :D
