I wonder if they would reveal that console for emerging markets they are working on in a Nintendo Direct broadcast, or if that is more appropriate for a financial briefing. Even though that console is intended for emerging markets, I'm interested in purchasing it. Perhaps it'll work similar to iQue Player.
I'm pretty sure that the PRIMARY feature of this thing would be strongly enforced region lock. Like, with mobile phone built-in or something.

I wonder if the emerging market console will be available in Brazil, now that they are pulling the Wii U from that market

Iwata said repeatedly that they would discuss those plans in the respective country, meaning Nintendo's China division would handle this, not NCL or even one of our subsidiaries in NA and EU.

Did you get your Rosalina in.

Also holy shit why a mod hasn't fixed Januari is beyond me.

My guess is that either:

The comedy value of a thread about a purely hypothetical Nintendo Direct getting this huge is amplified even further by the typo.

or:

They're too busy shaking their heads in shame because we lost our shit at a discussion of a hypothetical Direct.

Unless I know for sure that the direct shows new SMT x FE stuff.
I'll sit at mildly interested.

Real hype nintendo hype will never begin unless we start getting Snake in Smash teases.

"Getting on" these hype trains has always been a foreign concept to me because I'm always on the hype train. I guess it's hard to get on a hype train when you never got off.

Alright, so either iQue or Nintendo (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. then. Hmm... well, I guess there will be some kind of heads up prior the announcement anyway.

I guess people are being fickle about other countries' names for January. Januari is January in Dutch, Malay, Swedish, etc; so give it a rest please.

I'm going to provide a link to people who assumed that Januari is being mistaken. Educate yourself with other countries' names for months before you are going to assume that it's misspelling.

Don't forget that NeoGAF isn't a forum for English only. :) It's more of International forum for people to get together to discuss so their English isn't perfect.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use NeoGAF to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law. Sexual, racial, or ethnic slurs will not be tolerated in any form and are bannable on the first offense. It is recommended that profanity be held to a minimum in order to keep the level of discourse high, and profanity should not be used when addressing others. Though NeoGAF is an international forum, discussion is to be held in English unless otherwise designated.

I'm not sure why you're getting so worked up over this. You can't really fault people for making assumptions, even though the OP is from Belgium.

I didn't mean it in any sort of negative way.
I seriously did not know at all that was a spelling for it. I'm sorry.
I mean Y and I are pretty close on the keyboard and it's not like typos in this way haven't been done before by accident.

If everyone on GAF, or any forum for that matter, typed in their native tongue, everyone would be talking over eachother making it impossible for discourse. Unless it was a polylinguist forum

I would say that last year had few directs due to Iwata's health

Oh yeah, I managed to forget about this. Last year did feel a little empty direct wise. (I haven't actually counted, so I could just be feeling this and it not actually be true)

Except the rest of the title is in english, so why would January not need to be spelled in English, like the rest of the title?

Nobody is trying to be offensive or attack any languages here, but January is misspelled in the context in which it is presented, plain and simple. Not a big deal, really, but you don't need to attack other people's educations over something that makes total sense.

Well we're nearly at

Just to follow-up: He was asked twice about it in investor Q&As and the answer always made a point of it being very much about the language barrier since they don't want any mistranslations of their plans for China out there, thus they would be making those announcements in the respective territory.

Yes, and that's exactly what I mean. That broke any pattern they had previously established. They went big on game-specific Directs last year meaning anything is up for grabs right now until we get a new pattern (or maybe the old pattern since Iwata is back on the throne).

Sorry, my message wasn't meant to be directly to you. It's just for everyone who kept pointing it out.

Either I made a mistake in my statement or you just completely misunderstood my statement so I'm not sure which one tho.

I'm referring "English only" as people who used English as primary. I'm definitely not working up over this since I'm trying to make a point to the audience that people actually forget that there are other people in different countries that are trying to learn how to speak fluent English. Of course, there are some mistakes that could slipped through which is understandable.

Seriously. When are people going to figure out this is an 国際的なフォーラム?
Fucking racistas.

To be fair, that's pretty much what happens anyway.

Should we still be looking forward to this alleged Media Event on the 14th, or is that also debunked?

What do you mean "also debunked"? Nothing has been debunked yet.

All we know is that we are getting launch info this week for the 3DS and, most likely, Majora's Mask. It could be in a Direct or from the media event.

Like I said in other post. Sometime people just slipped with names. That's common mistakes with knowledge of two languages or more. I understand why people just made the assumptions.

I don't simply see how I attacked other people's educations. I'm only encouraging people to educate themselves with other countries' names for months so people wouldn't feel bad about their mistakes.

Speak of misspellings, I have been noticing that people would make mocks of other people's mistakes lately. For example, the guy who just had a woman cheated on him, and people were obsessed with his errors because he left D out in the title.
