Pete looks ridiculous. I can't tell if that horrendous hairstyle is intentional or if it's the actor's own misfortune.

It's 100% intentional. Vincent Kartheiser gets his hairline shaved back each season.

Intentional form of method acting, he shaves his hair on purpose to fit the role.

EDIT: beaten like a casual mad men viewer critiquing something they don't understand

I've always loved Kartheiser for doing that. Fits with the character I think. Pete Campbell ain't gonna surrender his hair that easily.

Does anyone else think there's something peculiar about this picture?

I know Weiner enjoys misleading viewers, and I know pictures like these are usually just stylized promos–but, I can't help but wonder why Don, Betty, Megan, and Sally would be in the same picture. Where's Henry Francis? What type of event would bring all these people in the same setting? Is it a wedding? All the pictures are unusual and the setting makes them even weirder.

Lol it's just for the show, they gave him a receding hairline for some reason.

Why on earth would they make his hairline that bad? That's hilarious.

I remember the jokes about his hairline in the Season 5 premiere during Don's surprise birthday party. I always thought it was Weiner poking fun at the actor's receding hairline.

It's Don and the only women left in his life/that he still cares about.

It's just promo stuff I assume, would be strange as an actual situation in the show. Unless like you said it's some sort of big gathering like a wedding.

First half of season 7 promo was everyone getting on a plane.

These promo shots are meaningless. I mean, some characters got on a plane at some point in the season. I am sure at some point some characters will attend a party.

Could be they all attend the funeral for Burt.

Nope, it's intentional.

I simply cannot wait for this to be back, the wait managed to feel even longer than it actually was to me.

I thought I read somewhere that there won't be a jump in time between part 1 and part 2.

I think it will end in the 60's

They only use songs from the correct year though. Maybe each episode is going to be a year apart which would get us to 76 for the finale.

There's a scene in Season 1 that always stuck with me. It was basically Don telling Pete his future - which is the most amazing foreshadowing ever.

Don offers Pete some man-to-man advice about how his playboy escapades - despite the fact that his wedding is this Sunday - will make it hard to climb the ladder. "You'll die in that corner office, a midlevel exec with a little bit of hair who women go home with out of pity." Pete's coy smile quickly faded as they walked into the boardroom.

Nobody looks 6 years older, especially Sally.

Sally would be a working woman by 1976, not dressing like a kid.

And the fashions look plenty 1970-71 to me.

Yeah, I definitely think this will be in the 70's, at least by the end, but they don't look too much older in that trailer.

That trailer is seriously great, though. Watched like four times already :lol Weiner has great taste in music.

I know the outfit Megan is wearing is ridiculous but damn she looks so fine. She would have me Harry Craning for sure.

I have a dilemma.

I ship to boot camp four episodes into the final season. Should I even watch those four?

I've been waiting forever for this show to have a finale, yet I have to wait even longer
what do

nothing worse than having to stop in the middle of a season

I hope it pays off for them.

I don't think it will, it worked for Breaking Bad but Mad Men hasn't enjoyed the "netflix bump" that Breaking Bad got. Also they're two very different shows in terms of dramaturgy and the split season works better in a show like Breaking Bad than Mad Men imo.

Eh, I doubt there are any real spoilers here. Isn't Weiner always determined to not put anything of substance in promo/preview material?

Do u guys think we'll see GLEN in this final season? What could he possibly be getting into now? He's come such a long way since he was Betty's best friend.
