They should really release it 4-8 weeks before AK, so people have time to play both games and then have a handful of weeks to get hyped for that game. Maybe include additional unlockable content as well to reward those that buy both. But that's presumably not what's happening, as isn't AK only about three months away?

I'm... I'm happy about this. Only played parts of Asylum.

On the remastered debate... I'm perfectly happy with remasters as long as it's not taking too much time away from the main dev team. If it's handed off to someone else and done well I don't see a problem as I get to play great games I may have missed out on with the settings cranked up.

When pipeline for current gen games will be better. So, next year?
Right now they don't have enough games for new consoles, so making remasters is fast and cheap substitution.

And well, Origins isn't by Rocksteady so I can kinda understand that.
And it was inferior to AA and AC.

You are correct but it still feels like that are WAY less original games are getting developed this gen due to higher development costs and the focus on AAA games.

Wish I could buy this BEFORE Arkham Knight. Do we know when? Cause I don't see a need to relive these games after I play AK

EDIT: Also, I never played Origins so I wish that was in the collection.

I don't know if I buy this. If anything it should have came out last year to aid the delay. I don't see why you would release this package this close to the launch of ARKHAM KNIGHT or anywhere after.

Unless AK has a considerable delay ahead of it(6-9 months) I don't think this is true. We should wait for an official word on this. Sounds suspect.

Last gen was the lomgest gen ever. How many people do they think skipped these games?

A compilation release featuring earlier titles in the Batman: Arkham series is coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this year, VideoGamer.com understands.

The information was provided by a trusted industry source prior to IGN Italy's report this morning, which also claims that Arkham Asylum and Arkham City will both release on current-gen consoles this Christmas.

VideoGamer.com also understands that the collection will release at the end of the year, after this June's release of Batman: Arkham Knight, with the games set to run in 1080p.

I'm such a sucker for this stuff, lol. I'm a bit burned out on City, but it's been a while since I played Asylum, and I remember liking it way more. I'll bite if it's cheap.

This was actually a remaster I've been hoping for since the beginning of the gen so I'm fine with this. Mass Effect Trilogy too and then it's enough.

I didn't get that on last gen and would buy a 'remastered' version on next gen.

EDIT EDIT: I'm a moron and can't read Italian either. Article says Christmas, according to Google translate. Knight's release date is 02-Jun-2015. So after Knight, if this article is factual.

I can understand remaster of the game from PS1 era. From DC era. Even from PS2 era. But games from 5,6,7 years ago!? What's next? Assassin's Creed 1-3 remaster? Modern Warfare 1-3? Mass Effect 1-3?
Uncharted 1-3 and Gears of War 1-3 is the only matter of time. Hilarious.

The Batman games were already sold hella cheap on pretty much every platform. That would've been the last series that needed remasters I thought...

So far, this generation is definitely the generation of remasters.

Worthwhile releases in March: Cities: Skylines, Bloodborne, Codename Steam, Pillars of Eternity, Ori and the Blind Forest, new episodes of RE Revelations 2, Life is Strange and Dreamfall Chapters. It seems like there's plenty of new content coming out.

Unfortunately your opinion sucks because these games don't suddenly become less desirable simply because they're old, now. I played both games already but I'm not upset that they're coming out. And who's going to use the argument now that new games aren't being made because of remasters, seeing as Arkham Knight is nearing final stages? Those of you crying over remasters sound selfish because if it isn't something you're interested in, then it isn't something worth having at all. Think about others for once.

Wow they really are pumping out remasters like crazy. With Arkham Knights coming up I really don't see the point in this. It's quite easy to get fatigued with these games, barely made it through Origins myself.

Gut reaction: Incoming Arkham Knight delay.

It might, to be fair, just be to give everyone a chance to get set up with the storyline up to AK... but my gut says it's a stopgap.

no Origins? i skipped it because of genre fatigue and have been waiting for a PS+ freebie or a trilogy bundle for the PS4.

Might have to skip this, don't see enough reason to play them again with slighty uprezzed textures and that PC exclusive physics cape.

I also don't like games being lost to older hardware, but I doubt this is the reason companies constantly re-release them at full price.

origins missing aside, this remaster makes no damn sense.

arkham knight is coming out in 3 months and they want to release this "duology" this christmas. wth? they should have released it LAST christmas, after they announced the delay of arkham knight. by the time this comes out, knight will be available for cheap everywhere.

edit: someone above mentioned a possible delay for arkham knight. this is the only way this remaster would make sense.
