I dunno.. COD can move consoles at this point. If you create a product that can generate hype and appeal enough, people will be willing to make the jump.

Can != will. For ATVI to leave potentially six figures' worth of potential sales on the table on a calculated risk that last-gen players will finally eat the cost of a $400 box to play this game is a bit scary for the bottom line.

There are still plenty of 360/PS3 owners out there and it's not a bad financial move to continue to placate that group for at least one more holiday season while monitoring Gen8 adoption rates and seeing how the transition continues.

Something CoD-- whether it's BlOps3 or something else, or whether it's developed by Treyarch or some other team, probably happens this year, I think.

To be fair, that's probably XB1 footage, and AW was farmed out to another dev for last gen development, so Sledgehammer were only making the current gen version anyway.

I think that's the best we can expect for 1080p 60fps for COD, its a lot better than sub HD, with barely 60fps like last gen

"To be fair"

lol come the fuck on now. that is obviously just an extremely poor quality screencap.

That really doesn't benefit Activision at this point, only Sony and MS. Advanced Warfare sold the most on Xbox 360 at launch, so, as of now, Activision gains nothing by going current gen only.

So uhh was this a typo or is it legit confirmed? I just hope ATVI has finally opted out of the bullshit timed exclusive DLC marketing this time around.

If the reviews are positive I might check this out on PC. Ideally there will be a Wii U port with Wiimote controls because I'd pick it up if so.

ughhhhh:

I'm not even sure I like the Destiny bit as well. So it's titanfall x destiny.

Yeeeaaaaah...

I want to trust in Treyarch, but this sounds terrible. Sounds like potentially the first CoD in years I'll be skipping, AW's exo stuff left such a bad taste in my mouth.

Guess we'll see.

Haha people think next gen only matters. Its COD its using the same damn engine. Its going to be turd, the last true COD was 4.

And as always don't buy it on PC its going to be turd
- No Server browser
- No rent-able servers
- No private Servers
- Artificial Latency(40-50 extra latency for no reason)
- No mods
- No no fov slider
- 90 FPS cap.

GG

Also Xbox will still have the Marketing as will the CoD Champs

Oh and it looks terrible.
Thanks for stopping by.

Wat? Advanced Warfare already wasn't on Wii U.
Yeah but that was a new studio. And Treyarch has always made de Wii and Wii U version

We got BO1 and B02, would love to get 3

I just really wish I can play cod on my console of choice, a man can dream. I still play B02 on wii u to this day

No it did not. It is PR-talk, but they use the same old engine with the same old flaws. Damn their marketing is really good, because I read that crap everywhere.

Yea, people get caught up in their wording and the screenshots and believe their shit about a "built from ground up" engine. lol

Why are people so concerned with who gets a marketing deal? What difference does it make to you?

Based on AC Unity, MS marketing deal seems to mean 90% of development efforts go into that version and PS4 version comes out running shitty frame rates.

They're still using the old Quake engine?!?!? Fucking hell that is beyond ancient at this point. You'd figure all the money they are making would be enough to fund development of a new engine for crying out loud.
Yep! They just tack on new graphics tech but as you can see in the screenshots its not doing much these days.

black ops 2 had a 90 fov slider, and a 200fps cap on pc.

Then every game after didn't

I thought this had been known since they said AW would be the last COD for PS3 and 360. This isn't exactly news.

Just to reiterate:

Eh. When your emphasis is on framerate above everything else, I don't blame them for keeping that core. New engines are always built on top of old cores.

edit: Christ, Windows is still built upon DOS.

It's not the "old quake engine" it's absolutely silly and incorrect when people say that. Having some legacy code does not mean it's the same engine.

Advanced Warfare on PS360 was not the same engine as current gen versions and it was in no way being held back by technology...as evident by the fact that it was using advanced rendering features.

That's a bullshit excuse. You can build an engine from the ground up to support 60fps (like Idtech5) and better support current rendering/shading techniques with less overhead. The Quake engine was made in 1996 when 256mb of ram and 800mhz processor was top of the line. The shit is OLD.

WHAT?!?!? I didn't know there was anyone actually claiming CoD was "technically advanced" with a straight face. That's funny.

I'm sure the Wii U version of Blops 2 hell maybe even Ghost would have sold more if they bothered to release them on the Eshop.

Its the same engine. They just stub on new graphics technology.

It's not the "same engine". Jesus.
It's like saying Far cry 1 and Ryse run the same engine as they are both iterations of the same engine with one having new graphics tech stubbed upon...see how silly that sounds?

Game engines dont work like that, the notion of naming an engine is purely arbitrary and is used only for licecing purpose. Just because they didn't name it different does not mean it's the same engine.

Yeah, but the new Cry engine looks much better than the old one, where IW engine looks like butt.

I'm sorry but that's just bullocks. Advanced Warfare looks might fine, it uses almost every modern renderi g techniqie seen in games these days. And if you think it looks similar to last gen COD then you are factually wrong. The simple fact that it uses physically based rendering is enough to make it a legit current gen engine.

just a lot of prebaked lighting in single Player does not make the COD a very advanced technical show piece. The multiplayer ( that is what I mostly talk about) looks nowhere near good and has the same flaws every other CoD had.

Edit: I saw your stealth edit ;).... Comparing AW to other games indicates that it is not a good current gen example of good graphics. Please watch the new BO III Trailer and then reconsider your statement

That's a great decision. Don't limit the scope of your game with old gen consoles shortcomings.

Screens look good, looks like AW but I didn't like the designs of the exo suits, so this already looks better.
