The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

I ended up just going for the ps4 version. It looks good enough for me and I'm doubtful I can run it at 60fps with ps4 level settings lol. Maybe I'll pick up the PC version down the line when I upgrade me PC. Game will probably be a lot cheaper by then

Yea after seeing how great the ps4 version is i could always get it again when i upgrade later. Cant wait for this!

Soo... downgrade confirmed?

Just regarding this. In no gameplay footage for a very long time have we seen Geralt with that hairstyle in the second shot, it has always been the one in the first shot. Only recently I think they have started showing footage/screens where Geralt has a different hairstyle, which even differs from the one in the second shot.

Also considering that NVIDIA took down those shots we shouldn't jump to conclusions here. The geometry in newer screenshots from indoor areas etc. looked quite a lot better than what is shown in the second shot. It is probably wise to hold of judgment until the same area has been seen in the final build.

People who post these kind of comparisons only want to spoil the fun most of the time.

(Thinking back at that horrible Uncharted 4 "comparison" almost half a year ago - lol)

You're right though, I'm someone who is never satisfied because I always want more and better and more and more. Things like there being no footprints in the sand and certain things destruct where others don't. But we're not technologically there yet.

Point being, I'll enjoy this game and love it to pieces because of he art style. Just like I still love the witcher 2, but when I'm finished I will absolutely want more. More!

there mas a mod for skyrim which added footprints. might be hope for a similar mod in W3.

Haha I need my footprints!

It shouldn't take mods to fix things that should be in the game. But for all I know there are footprints on the higher settings, just not in the PS4 version.

Ps4 or 970 for me? Just started pc gaming and although I love the higher frame rates and resolutions mortal kombat x left a bad taste in my mouth.

970 for certain if you PC game on your TV.

If you want to couch game and only have a Ps4 to do so, or if you think you will use Remote Play, Share Button, Trophies, etc more. Then the PS4 is a great option because the fidelity is fantastic (though not what you'll get with your 970).

Personally I bought the CE on PS4, but will be playing on SLI 970s I ordered specifically for this game. But I also have my PC hooked up to a 65" 4K Curved.

If I didn't have that setup I would've gone with PS4.

I have a PC that utterly destroys my PS4 in power.

I still prefer to play games on my PS4. For some people the choice actually is difficult. Not everything is about the graphics. I can earn trophies, party chat with friends, etc. while gaming on my PS4.

For some people the choice between the two can be a little difficult

I agree with this 100%. My PC is meant for other things, my PS4 is meant for gaming and that's where I'll be.

Have heard the input lag on those curved actually, any 4k TV's are pretty brutal.

Anyone know if there's still some destructible items in the game and do objects still have physics? I remember in the reveal trailer I think, Geralt used a spell and everything just went flying, it was great.

PS4 or 670? that's the question.
Im pretty sure the 670 is a lot stronger than the PS4, and CDPR is mainly a PC developer so it's a safe bet it'll be better optimized for the 670 but this is all speculation and it might be shit on every platform. It's hard to tell until we get more information and reviews come in next week.

What's this? PCGAF & PS4GAF in mutual admiration, foaming at the mouth over the prospect at playing this little beauty, regardless of platform? Well done CDPR - hope it sells by the bucket-load for you. PS4 version ahoy, for me btw

Looks great, I´ll definetly get this for PS4, there are only a couple things that I noticed, I don´t no if they are PS4 specific or also aplly to the PC version, but here it goes:

1. No blood splatter after hits or blood puddle after kill on the ground

2. Water effects/physics seem to be week or none existing

3. No foot prints in the sand

4. Shadow draw in is very noticable in some ocasions

Those are actually minor things, only thing that really bothers me are the missing blood splatters.

The blood splatters seem to be gone in general. But like swaying trees in GtAV, I am hoping this is a glitch, because previous media had blood splatters.

Would a PS 4 or a core i7 920@ stock, 750ti, 6gb ram run this better?

I'm no expert on this, but it seems you're not even meeting the Minimum requirements completely and if we can believe that the PS4 version runs on ~high @ 1080p, I think you would be better off going for the PS4 version.

His CPU is better than the PS4 CPU and his GPU has been proven to run games at equivlaent settings to PS4 ports.

Your advice isn't exactly sound.

Recommended and min requirements should not be read verbatim. His only problem may be RAM amount, but I do doubt that even that will be very problematic.

Alright, I was hoping someone with more knowledge on this would answer aswell!

I was actually confused why he couldn't even meet the minimum requirements eventhough a couple of his components were surpassing the PS4 and it was said that the PS4 would run around "high" Settings.

So I'll just assume, that minimum requirements are just there to play it safe.

Nobody knows.

Thanks for your impressions.

The witcher 2 sometimes didn't run that well, depending on settings and area, which is why I am apprehensive regarding the sequel...

On the other hand I am contemplating buying the PS 4 version (as it seems to look really nice on the console!) and to then later buy Witcher 3 on the PC during a mega-sale, once I have acquired a new rig.

Only thing reason I am still hesistating is my fear that I will miss mods in the console version (really liked the reduce-all-inventory-weight-to-0-mod for instance).

Well, leaving aside the minimum requirements and just concentrating on your CPU/GPU I think we can trust Dictator here and say that your PC should run the game just fine.

Also if you get it for PC you will have the optional mod support and the option to upgrade your PC later on so you can have an even better running/looking game. (The PS4 version will stay the same for obvious reasons)

970, of course.

And CDPR Are PC developers. This isn't going to be a Mortal Kombat X situation. In fact 99% of PC games aren't a mortalkombat X situaiton.

Awesome. Another giant, well crafted world for me to buy and not play properly as I don't get the spare time.

My birthday week in June is pretty much going to be me in the living room playing through my backlog.

It should run it similarly to a PS4. In the past the 750ti has actually outperformed a PS4 in a lot of games though.

My guess is 1080p/30 FPS PS4-like settings. So it's up to you.

The PC version will offer the following over the PS4 version for you:

- Graphical options, so YOU get to pick the compromises, not the developers.
- Modding in the future.
- It's cheaper.

The rest is up to your setup and your preferences.

Damn just watched the video, looks outstanding. I can't believe how good games are starting to look. And the gameplay looks very good. I'm excited

Gtx 750 ti will one day fall short of VRAM, and I suspect that will start to happen with games that are exclusives to this gen. PS4 at least is a "safe bet"

7970m is equivalent to a 660 or so, so it's veyr close to a PS4. Expect similar performance at similar graphics levels. You're on a lappy, what the panel resolution?
