The core of Rhythm Heaven has never been about score attack, so having online leaderboards for the small selection of rhythm games that are for setting high scores probably isn't worth the infrastructure if there isn't a console-wide leaderboard system.
Pay for challenge guards, train challenge attempts, and items at the shop. This new ranking system is gonna make me quite anal... but otherwise, fantastic. I'm sure this has been asked but what do I do with all the coins I'm getting?
I told myself I'd hold out for a local release, but after watching the remixes I'm convinced. This will be the first game I import from Japan.
Challenge mode adds so much to the game.
The songs on fast forward are pretty great.
The story and characterizations they added to the game are substantial and it is pretty cute and funny, but then again, you can argue as to whether this was even necessary to begin with and all of the dialogue does slow the game progression quite a bit. I think a lot of the enjoyment factor is in the dialogue -- the story, the chats in the cafe, and some rhythm games like the alien encounter one, and you miss quite a bit if you don't understand it.
It wasn't too horrible, but it is kind of tedious when I just want to progress from one game to the next. It kind of detracts from the simplicity and clarity of purpose the previous games had.
Did anyone else tear up to one of the new rhythm games with the bears?
The build up to 58 seconds was just too much to me, in the end I had tears streaming down my face when playing it. But I hope I'm not the only one!
Yeah, the kaiju ones are intense. I beat one just by a hair. The Perfect Monster challenge (where the TV keeps shrinking) is so intense. I can breathe after the song stops.
Any tips for medaling Ninja? It is the only one I have not done.

The names in Japanese are:
Morimori remix
Hachihachi remix
Machine remix
Orange remix
Donut remix
Latest (haircut) remix
Bird remix
Left remix
Right remix
Final remix
Oh, that's good to know, thanks! Though I'm going to forever call the doughnut one Krispy Kremix lol. Nice to see that there are ten remixes total.
By the way, I've been looking at videos of the game and was wondering, does anyone know what the menu options are after you beat a train challenge?

And the whole game is higher-resolution!I'm visiting SanFran and had a chance to finally try out the Rhythm Tengoku arcade machine.
I guess the tempo up idea originated here. Doing the first set in tempo up was pretty insane! It was especially cool because the sprites are also different in this mode.
some single button games, like rhythm pluck and interpreter, allow you to use both the A button and the d-pad for input. it's extremely difficult to complete some of the tempo-up perfect challenges using just a single button for input, so be sure to make use of this!
Yes.Waaait a second. Was it possible to use both A and the D-Pad for Rhythm Pluck in the original Rhythm Tengoku?
