Which 'moments' have to be recaptured in the FF VII remake?

That scene where Barret embraces Marlene and nuzzles his face into hers, to which she responds by saying something like "Stop it daddy, your whiskers are hurting my face."

That's got to be in there.

Also this...

Is "everything" an answer?

Because "everything".

I just hope they don't mess things up by making them "shorter" by way of making them more interactive in the modern gaming sense.

Have to have this. This is the moment you realize that Sephiroth is on a whole other stratosphere compared to Cloud.

I just started playing the game again today, I'm looking forward to protecting Aeris from the Turks in the church at the start. I bet the church will look beautiful.

Also the slap fight on the giant cannon will be epic.

I could do without the weird minigames. Fort Condor, snowboarding, even the bike scene. If they have those things I hope they are polished quite a bit, because I never really enjoyed playing them.

The intensity of Diamond Weapon emerging from the sea and reigning chaos on Midgar
If done right could very well be one of the most dramatic scenes in modern gaming

- Nanaki discovers the truth
-Rocket launch
- Gold Saucer prison
-Temple of the ancients bosses

Gameplay moments:

Everyone else has excellent choices too. This thread.....I'm dying.

E: @Zukuu- lol yep, note to self, get Big Guard before going to the Temple. That Demon Wall, and the Red Dragon for that matter were both Assholes.

Man this really drives home how many great moments ff7 had.

Also they need to re-create the fear I had as a kid with the underwater sections with emerald weapon. I think that is where my fear of deep bodies of water came from

I think the Submarine, Dolphin and Fort Condor are the minigames that they need to heavily redo. Those weren't very enjoyable. Junon's parade is on a similar level, but much more charming in a trashy way. They can keep that. :D

Fort Condor was tower defense, it just needed to be more difficult. I hope they build on it to be honest.

I agree with the "everything" comment.

I truely hope they dont take modern design approaches to this game of "everything has to last only 3 seconds before we are on to the next things". I loved how FF7 took its time, had slow paced moments to give the story some breathing time. Basically its the exact opposite of FF13 in every conceivable way. Please dont lose that.

That motherfucker. Without a walkthrough it took me a WEEK to beat him.

I still remember when I finally did it: That day I arrived at school and it turned out that the first class was cancelled. So I walked back home with a friend and we played FF 7 where I left off. I wanted to show him that POS and how unfair he is, but I magically manged to beat him. Problem now was, that it was time to go to school again, but I couldn't find a save spot! While he left, I was searching for a save spot in panic, clicking away all the dialogue as fast as I could (while trying to read most of it). After I finally found one I saved and hurried to school, arriving way too late, of course.

Fun memory.

Thinking about it, FF 7 invented the Tower Defense genre, didn't it?
I always just let the guys reach the top, went out and beat them with my party. Way easier and faster.

I don't want to lose a thing, honestly.

But I'll be genuinely upset if I don't see

-Intro and bombing mission #1
-Bombing mission #2
-Cloud falling into the Church, meeting Aeris in the Church and taking her home
-Sneaking into/busting out of Shinra
-Nibelheim & Nibelheim reactor
-Gold Saucer stuff
-You-know-what at Forgotten City
-Battle at Junon
-The endgame return to Midgar
-Exactly the same boss/ending

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
They need to give Zack the justice he deserves, and if they're going to keep Aerith alive, then they need to add some good powerful scenes when the party discovers Gast's recordings of Aerith and her mom.

How about when the crew is locked in the Shinra tower, and when they make their escape they see the walls slathered in blood?? That's gonna be a sweet scene on PS4, almost horror movie-ish.

It is horror movie-ish when you realize

The "Sephiroth" that just killed the Shinra President is an alien eldtritch abomination that has taken the form of Sephiroth.

Depending on whether the game is fully open world or not (I doubt it. Would prefer a World Map so that more dedication could be taken to the actual areas), but it would be cool if instead of stopping at the end of the highway and going down the cable, instead you actually drove completely off the highway and landed in a full open world of green. Would be quite the shock.
