Rashid Confirmed for Street Fighter V

I'm still waiting for a bit of a redesigned UI. Not that the one we have now is bad, but it needs a little more style. I'm mostly talking about the health bards, since I think they look kind of bland.

Capcom can still change Rainbow Mika's command for her Critical Art if there's enough outcry. Hell, they opened up the option of Vega being changed back into a charge character if we want him to.

I never could stand charge characters. I'm happy with all of the changes so far.

I love KOF's mechanics, but I think Street Fighter should have its own distinct style. As much as I think 3rd Strike is easily the best in the series, and will remain that way even after 5's release, I hate that it introduced the Japanese fashion industry inspired designs that permeate KOF so much. It works for KOF in a cheesy stylized kind of way, but I always saw Street Fighter as well....about fighting on streets. Characters like Guile, Cody, Ryu, Sagat, Hugo, Zangief, Sakura, Chun Li, Cammy, and Charlie epitomize what I see as the "Street Fighter" style: street level bad asses who couldn't give less than a shit about "who" they're wearing, just who's ass they're about to kick and how. But then again I have immense disdain for anything considered "stylish," so perhaps I should take into account that a lot of people are quite interested in fashionable things. With that being said, if you're into trendy and stylish stuff, then I can see the appeal of Viper.....though it pains me to admit that.

SF always should be about crazy ethnic stereotypes or just stereotypes in general. That 80's cheese sauce poured all over their characters makes this old wrestling fan tear up a bit.

You know what could be interesting ? Cosmetic "theme packs" that make the life bars and such look whichever style you want. On the PC version of SF4 there are mods that make it look like capcom vs SNK that are pretty slick looking. What if Capcom just released a few flavors for people to use ? It can't be that hard to leave in a hook to replace an overall theme like that , I think most people would even be willing to spend a couple bucks. It could work just like costume packs, it only affects YOUR personal screen , hell it could even include a different announcer style too. Have a SF alpha 3 theme where the announcer spouts all the nonsense from that game like "face it straight" or "gopher bloke".

He looks really cool. Maybe I'll buy the new SF. There's just the whole thing about I won't have much people to play with and I wouldn't be able to compete online because I don't want to spend all my days getting good at a fighting game.

Man...everyone in this game looks so wack...it's gotta be the play dough art style. Like Rashid could be cool but he looks so dumb & his super looks so stupid. Vega is one of my long standing SF mains & he looks so ass I'm not even interested in playing him.

SFV is easily #1 on the wack graphics tier. 3D Street Fighter games are just ugly. If TxSF comes out we'll finally get to see the SF cast done justice in 3D.

SF4 was ugly. SFV looks awesome apart from the shit background characters. I like the direction they're going in and I wouldn't want the game to try to look like Tekken.

The game looks great in person. And its improved so much since its initial reveal and will look better by the time it comes out.

After playing many hours of the beta, I think the game looks great. The one blemish the graphics have is the dithered shadows. Hopefully that's something that gets fixed by release or a problem the PC version won't have.

You guys are crazy, the art style of SFV is the main reason I'm considering buying the game. My roommate plays Mortal Kombat X all the time. Talk about uninspired.

If you want them to look more ass, sure. Tekken is easily #1 whack-tier graphics for me with it's plastic graphics and it's got Lucky Chloe lmao. I guess I dislike plastic a lil more than clay.

Yeah, this bothered me a bit. Hopefully it's not a problem in the final version.

Sf5 looks fantastic otherwise.

Yeah, this game is beautiful. The animation and rendering style work well with each other. No other FG looks like it.

Taunt is at 1:29.

Looks like Rashid is about to drop some BARS on us.

I'm loving his personality. He just seems like a nice, fun loving guy.

Yeah, his personality really shines in these animations. That looked dope.

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
i wasn't a fan of SFIV's graphics but SFV is already much better. the improved poly count on models, improved animations and overall art style difference make for a huge improvement. i can't even watch SF IV play anymore, i'm so tired of the graphics.

also, being able to finally realize the "paint splatter" effect has done wonders, as EX moves look the best they ever have.

My boy said Rashid plays like El Fuerte and he's a grappler. I don't know what kind of shit he's on because he 's not a grappler and looks nothing like El Fuerte other than he has a wall jump.

Oh man, I'd buy the hell out of a CvS2 announcer pack for SFV if Capcom let me.

Agreed. Necalli on the other hand looks too small by comparison, and perhaps even a bit dull moves-wise?

SFV looks killer but it has some big gaps here and there. The fucking background textures are atrocious. In the hot ryu topic I was thinking, "God, please don't give this waterfall stage any attention"

The textures on the left seriously look like the jungle stage from sf4.

capcom likes to cram stages with as much superfluous crap as possible instead of actually making them look beautiful. they're the absolute worst at stage design these days and it's pretty sad

Charge characters are the most natural to me, and all of my mains in SF are usually charge characters. I'm not a fan of the command changes for Nash, Birdie and Vega. I'm hoping that they include classic EX versions of them with their old moveset for people like me. Like in KOF, or even in SF Alpha 2 Gold which included classic SFII CE versions of some characters. That way they can keep everyone happy.
Keep half circles for special grabs, 360s for supers. Alex was like this.

Or have every move have two inputs; half circles or 360s, and two half circles or 720s.

That makes more sense. Forgot that they did that already with Alex.

Yeah, I would much rather see just...generic yet beautiful environments. Open plains, a mountain plateau, a beachside, etc. That open, fresh feel is what I want.

Though sheep hype is amazing.

They'd benefit a great deal from less detailed texture work in their "natural" environments, because what they have now is ugly as shit. So either get better artists or go more abstract with the background detail.
