I think him and his friends put themselves in a position were them being fired was unavoidable. Besides the racism, it is unprofessional and creepy to take pictures of other peoples kids without permission. Posting them on facebook is a breach of privacy.
Well, what should happen next? He lost his job, embarrassed himself on television, and will probably take the full brunt of the internet retribution machine for at least the immediate future. He's an asshole who deserves as much, but he still should eventually get the chance to move on with his life, right? I just hope he somehow emerges as a better person and doesn't double-down on his shitheadedness.
Diversity training, community service and public speaking are tools you can use to change the minds of someone, make an example of someone, and punish someone in a that is actually proactive. Finally public speaking can actually make a difference for others.
Tools that might have long term positive effects and which might be able to spread out. But people like their pitchforks.
