Sony announces $299 PS4 + Uncharted Collection Black Friday bundle

I know it is - I just don´t think that´s the right bundle for Black Friday.

It´s a game that big chunks of your target audience have played already.

If you want to bring people over a remaster is a bad idea IMO.

As far as I´m concerned the PS4 can only play Destiny ;)

By big chunk, you mean 20%, yes?

some of you act as if sony would be sad that some customers chose the BF bundle over that one.

They want to sell both.

Yup. I noticed that. It being this price over the whole weekend it should do very well.

At the end of the day. You'd still be buying a PS4.
Actually:
The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 Bundle, which will be available at $299.99 USD (MSRP) in the U.S. for Black Friday weekend only, starting Thursday and extending through Cyber Monday. The bundle will also be available for $369.99 CAD (MSRP) in Canada Friday through Monday. Check your local retailers for full detail
So it last to Cyber Monday.

low entry price, get people introduced or warmed up for uncharted 4 and not lose profit by including a first party digital code. this is a win for sony in every way and for customer looking to get in at a lower price and if applicable play a highly rated series from last gen for the first time. i get the feeling you are not a big fan of the series

Normally it's $349 for this bundle right? I can get it cheaper with my holiday discount a week later (25% off any transaction).

Exactly. OF COURSE it would be nice if Sony dropped the price of the COD and BF bundles to $299. But that's not going to happen. Those bundles sell on their name. They are premium bundles. They will sell regardless.

The UCC bundle for $299 is strictly a value bundle. They know people will buy it at that price alone regardless of the games included.

how low will retailer goes. i'm sure there's going to be some unofficial bundles during this. with some added games in the mix or something!

According to Patcher, console holder pays a bit over $40 for new multiplatform games that are bundled with the console. So choosing Uncharted Remasters over Battlefront is a no-brainer for them [that game costs them nothing].

There are multiple advantages.
It's their game and they're not paying an other company for the bundled copies, it's just the cost of the disc (excluding of course the potential loss for a full priced sale but that's an other issue).
It's actually three games instead of one.
They are basically doing a ''hands on'' marketing campaign for Uncharted 4 coming next Spring.

It's really a no brainer situation.
For consumers it's all about PS4 and the 299$ price tag, the bundled games are just a plus.
If you want Star Wars there's the 349$ bundle or better ust buy the Uncharted bundle and Star Wars (you could even resell Uncharted if you're not interested and save more).

Microsoft is doing the same, bundle with Gears at 299$, the 399$ bundles with Fallout, Tomb Raider and other big third party games go to 349$ which is the same price of the Star Wars bundle.

Not a bad bundle for anyone, you get a PS4 for $300.00 with a bonus UC Collection, probably the best remaster out there and some of the highest rated games last gen. The remaster is currently priced at $60.00, so you're basically getting the PS4 for $240, who complains about stuff like that?

That may be true, but would you agree that compared to last year's "Value bundle" which was the same $50 price drop w/GTA V packed in, this one is pretty weak.

I said weak bundle because there is another option (SW bundle) that would sell a lot better.

Is the same for Xbox One, selling Gears bundle for $299 instead of Tomb raider for example.

It costs Sony and MS nothing to include Uncharted/Gears in those bundles.

The fact that I won't be able to resell it for $60 to actually make my PS4 cost $240 is why I complain about it. No interest, I'd even take an indie bundle over it at the same price.

Digital versions of the UC Collection are probably going to go for $20 soon

Wasn't that a $399 bundle with GTA V?

This is $299 with a collection of remasters. $100 price point difference. Not sure how that's weak relatively as a "value" bundle.

UC, $60??...Maybe if you only shopped at Gamestop. Hell, I think it was $32 last week.

UC is 60 dollars in much of the same way that AC: Unity was 60 dollars last year. All you had to do was look a little and you'd find it for under 30 dollars mere weeks after release. Being bundled means it's going to be sub-20 dollars real soon.

How is $299 with a game (3 games technically) not a sweet spot?
People like to complain. If the price doesn't move the needle then I doubt they were interested in getting a ps4 for anything less than 250.

I would probably jump on $299 Bloodborne bundle, especially if it came with the DLC.
Well they probably won't be a bloodborne bundle at that price, so you can wait till next November.

I think I got the better bargain with PS4 Uncharted with Final Fantasy X-O and Assassins Syndicate for 349.99. The bundle prices this year are oretty weak compared to years past.

The bundle is selling for $299. That's what people are buying it for. They just happen to get 3 Uncharted games with it. It'll sell amazing.

and the Battlefront Bundle costs $350. If someone wants that they can get it as well. It's not breaking the bank for them to spend an extra 50 bucks.

The battlefront bundle will likely sell like ass that weekend.

It's a $30, first party published title that released 8 months ago. Hoping for the DLC is too much, I suppose but I wouldn't think it was is that outlandish for a base game bundle.

Yes. But the GTA V bundle was dropped from $449, plus you got TLOU, and even a $50 gift card from the likes of Walmart.

That's not the same at all imo. Personally I can't call any bundle weak when it's offered for $299. Because consumers aren't even looking at the game at that point. They are looking at the price. And at that price point people will pick it up in droves.

Sony doing this for UCC doesn't cost them any money. But if they did this for COD and Battlefront they'd probably have to pay those publishers the difference.

I ended up garbing a replacement PS4 from target's 10% off electronics/entertainment sale yesterday. Picked up the Vader PS4 for $60 with the sale + 5% Red card.

Compared to a $299 bundle? Sure. But again. Disney is about to ramp up the marketing for Star Wars. I think the $350 bundle will do very very well. I'm sure they bundles have been selling great this month regardless and it'll see increased sales on Black Friday just because.
