Kids play video games. They are not fully formed humans. 30-year-old kids sometimes. I don't see the appeal in using a microphone with toxic players in call of duty... or any other game, for that matter.
And people wonder why the lack of voice chat doesn't bother many of us. Yes I know muting is an option, but if all the decent players are muting games because of this crap then all you're left with is the shitheads.
They will mostly be kids. That doesn't excuse it but yeah, kids are shitty and the more anonymous it is - the shittier they can be.

In other news the sky is blue.
BLOPS3 is matchmaking multiplayer, right? If you don't want to put up with shit like this, then the optimal solution is pretty much to play on community servers with active moderation and enforced server rules. This completely transforms the social climate when you have people who behave because they want to maintain a respectable reputation and be allowed back in. It makes the social experience in these types of games so much more pleasant that I simply refuse to play these types of games if they don't support servers. That goes not just for sexism but any kind of obnoxious behavior.
Sad to hear. But I wouldn't say this is exclusive to women. People online just down right petty, being a female is just something the can use to attack. I've been online gaming for a long time and been attacked over just about anything.
And now the first thing I do is just mute everyone and only use party chat with friends.
As long the anonymity exists, this will always happen. Don't let this ruin you wifes enjoyment.
It's funny that you say that... for all the shit that people gave the XBL base during the 360 years, my time on Destiny on XB1 was fantastic. Everyone was super civil and friendly, and the few times I ran into a woman on the mic, nobody made a big deal of it (one even headed a raid party of mine; nobody batted an eye). Meanwhile, my roommate's experience on various PS4 games has been atrocious. Anecdotal, I know, but I'd wager that most of the intolerable mainstream population jumped ship and is on PSN now.Sounds like Sony really was able to convert that 360 COD fanbase.
There's nothing wrong with the sky being blue.In other news the sky is blue.
The first part of this has always been incorrect.
This is why Blizzard and Nintendo are taking the correct approach - just limit olnine communication. People are too irresponsible to be trusted with vocal anonymity online.
Um no, these don't sound like kids. Like 20-30 year old men.
Its possible a lot of the messages are kids though.
Its pretty much required for zombies. Unless you want to only make it to wave 5 or something.
To fix it all you need to do is put normal in quotation marks. The first part of this has always been incorrect.
It's also sad when you see some shit when you're looking through streams that say stuff like "flash at 1000 viewers"... Are people that desperate to get views?
how did they knew she was a girl? did she have a cam on or something?
Too bad they couldnt behave like normal people.
To all the guys out there that treat her just like you treat me. I thank you.
The sky is supposed to be blue though.
