If we're going to speculate about fluff: I would assume that scum will be the various killers, infact, I'm sure Sorian said as much in the recruitment thread.

Why would we assume this though, not all of the prosecutors are straight up evil.

I said if we assume.

I'm not going to make any bold speculations about the overall setup until after we see some flips.

The only things I am somewhat confident about are the things I've brought up in my prior speculation posts.

Between the avatar, the intentional typo, and the use of the word "hell" I think you may actually be scum that is deliberately fucking with town. Knowing that nobody will take an early post like this seriously.

I know he said he wouldn't be around too much but I'm still waiting for something of an answer to this post.

Since I did say something about spoilers before and as to not give anyone an advantage by just remembering my past posts. Here is the post from the recruitment thread:

**Disclaimer**

I don't think I've posted this in this thread and it's just something I've said here and there. My game does have Phoenix Wright spoilers. I won't be talking about any exact case details but the bad people in my game are villians from the series and knowing that someone is a villain is usually a spoiler in it's own right, just something to keep in mind.

Something I haven't said is that the timeline of my flavor is going to make no sense so might as well accept that now. If it was more convenient for a character to be dead then they are dead for my purposes, if it was more convenient for them to be alive then they are alive for my purposes. I built a game first and then came up with flavor that allowed it all to make sense so I took some liberties.

:p

If we assume this is going to be Defense vs Prosecution, De Killer doesn't really serve as scum.

I think it's far more likely that the killers from cases are the scum than prosecutors
I'm not sure if that means shelly would be scum or neutral if he existed though. Sure he was a killer, but he's also this sort of mercenary character that never really faces justice.

Ah. With this, I have a better idea of who scum might be.

And I think we may have a Doppleganger or some copycat type role.

This is true. We can't simply say Defense vs Prosecutor because not all of the Prosecutors were "scum". I'd say people like, Matt Engarde or Shelly De Killer would be scum. Franziska isn't evil and neither is Edgeworth which leads me to believe that one or two of them could be neutral.

Most prosecutors in the series are good guys interested in finding the truth. I would generally assume them to be town.

It's not that it is, but I don't understand why you would start a day off immediately voting for people lol. Wait a bit for things to settle, for people to arrive, and then use as much as you have to try and get something going.

I suppose, but as Crimson said, votes are good for discussion and don't mean death so early. Also I still wondered why it was specifically Zubz you questioned when there were at least 2 other votes based on nothing/bullshit.

Oh right, isn't this game only supposed to go up to Apollo Justice though?
That's correct, Sorian specifically said no Blackquill for instance because of it going up to AJ

In this game Town needs to eliminate neutrals to win. So don't think of neutral as "not good or evil," think of neutral as "evil but with its own agenda." The Mafia is a team of baddies working together to kill Town, any neutrals are individuals (or possibly small teams, eg a tanner family) with agendas that aren't in line with the Mafia but also not in line with Town.

Barring silly shenanigans (eg "When all Mafia are eliminated you win and leave the game" neutrals), expect neutral characters to be morally evil, since Town wants to kill them. de Killer would make total sense as a neutral: he has his own agenda (eg a list of targets to assassinate), but doesn't give a damn about the Mafia's goals (kill every Townie).

Oh whoops.

Q. Has a neutral-scum mason pair ever been done?

I agree with this sentiment. Neutral should not be spared by town, I think. In most cases. There are rare exceptions, for example if it is clear that they have better reason to support town over scum and we can verify their impact.

I think it heavily depends on the Neutral, his power and his win condition. If he is very close to his win condition and will soon leave the game on his own for example, we could just let him win instead of wasting a lynch on them. The annoying thing of lynching neutrals is that it will give us 0 information to help with scum hunting that day, since scum will probably be just as willingly to lynch them as us. But this will really be a discussion we can only have when we have some concrete information about a neutral to talk about.

Hey Xam, maybe you can give some thoughts on the game that you're actually supposed to be playing in. I'm against lynching you based on past behaviour, but if you don't contribute anything useful today, I'll happily switch my vote back to you.

If you need some prompts, here's a few people I wouldn't mind hearing thoughts on, although I realise that it being day 1, there's not really too much to go on yet:
1) Starsketch
2) TheWorthyEdge
3) QuantumBro
The plane had wifi, actually.

On StarSketch:
Probably just a Townie mistake. If she was scum, she probably wouldn't have stumbled as she did if scum was backing her up. Not an entirely a clean bill of help, but something to mull over.

On TWE:
I don't really have any thoughts on him right now. He hasn't done that much to me.

On QB:
All sorts of alarm bells here. I can see that being a #scumgambit or even a Tanner ploy.

Bonus Round: StanleyPalmtree

I assumed there was no Tanner, since Town (and presumably Mafia as well) needs to kill all neutrals. Seems like a Tanner would be guaranteed to win, no? Unless they've got a limited time to die or something.

In regular mafia, tanner would be an incredibly easy role to win as. It's really not hard to get town to lynch you if you try. Probably why it rarely comes up as a role, and why I'm not expecting one in this game.

I'm beginning to suspect your pro neutral stance might have something to do with self-interest. There are a few other things that I've read from your posts that might be nothing.

Please give some opinions on GAFfer's gaffes so far this game.

Any particular reason for that vote, CornBurrito?

I don't have too much to look into, but I'd like to know if there's any reason Crimson's still voting for me. I know that it was initially to put "pressure" on me because it was cast before I posted, but I've checked in since then. If the goal was to get me to post, then it's already been met.

Plus, again, those votes were cast pretty early on; Crimson even stated he wanted to put pressure on Xam 9 minutes into the game before switching to me.

Read over the thread, don't really see much in terms of scum reads or anything. Nice to see we have a confirmed town. Seems we need a day one lynch.

Vote: StanleyPalmtree

Just added up the numbers for the date and chose the person in that spot.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here we go again.

You put up that vote with out any reasoning at all. Of course I'm concerned. Random votes generally don't make any sense to me.
