Can anyone to the strength (or lack thereof) of the Firehouse HQ roof? I've read and seen some issues with the roof flexing or something? How big of a deal is it?

Can't personally attest to how strong it is, but I saw this on reddit a couple of days ago...

Went to my local LEGO store and in 2 full boxes I found 0 shark guys and surprisingly 0 queens. The good thing about just looking for shark guys is it takes about 3-4 minutes to feel a whole box. The bad thing is it only takes about 3-4 minute to feel a whole box for other people. So far in 4 visits, 2 of them turned out 0 shark guys with 2 full boxes. I'm not too worried as I got 4 total right now, but I would like to get a few more since 2 of my current 4 will go to my kids.

Not clear on what is disappointing about the Ghostbuster HQ. Maybe it's just expectations are different among people. I still want it.

I'm not really getting the feeling its hugely disappointing to people, not on the level of say Hoth or ^grumblepeoplearewronggrumble^ Bat Cave. It's just a big investment which can turn people right off but also as a display piece its not as striking and as had been said, its a little boring. Now thats not really the fault of the designers or anything. It's a faithful model of the GB building so it is what it is. The dynamic stuff is all going on inside of the building which unfortunately for most people (including me) would not be seen very often if at all. It's iconic, but in the end its just an extremely normal looking building with a small ghostbusters sign on the front which does cause some hesitation in dropping $350 for it. If someone wasn't a ghostbusters fan could you actually recommend they buy it or would you recommend a couple modular sets for the same money?

I've had my own ongoing internal debates on this and i'm a ghostbusters fan. I dropped the cash for the Helicarrier no hesitation but thats because it looks fracking cool on display being unique and epic. I love my Haunted House and that was also a dollhouse type build but the big difference was Lego was able to make it the way they wanted and were able to make the outside of it look creepy and great along with the inside. I know i'm going to get it, thats not a question but its not going to be my favorite Lego model on display even though it will be one of the more expensive ones. So yea, I guess that is a little disappointing but its not really anyones fault. It is what it is and I don't think they could have done any better than they did.

Applied for a couple of corporate/business positions at Lego. One in the Czech Republic and the other Billund. Chances are slim, but hey - worth a shot!

Any time a position appears in slough or London I apply for it. I drive past their slough office quite often but these days they've moved most corporate positions to central London.

Good luck though - relocating to another country would be quite the adventure

Boring?

Only as boring as you make it. Also, how is it disappointing? It's a huge set with tons of usable parts for a reasonable price, tons of potential collectability and a completely unexpected but awesome license. The only issue is that the back looks silly and that the structure is wonky if you remove the roof.

Who is that yellow Ninja in the lower left corner?

Sorry, the UK store says it's available. If you add it to the cart, you just get the free nexo Knights sets. No mention of Mr freeze.

Skylor from Ninjago, two series ago.

Damn she looks amazing! I just checked and she's like 10 bucks on Ebay used :( are there other yellow Ninjas like that in the Ninjago line anywhere or is that the only one? I want one now!

On a sidenote: Can't decide between which set to build next for display Ewok Village or Airjitsu Temple

The set should still be around, I see the jungle Ninjago sets everywhere. But I got her off BaP some time ago. Not enough useful parts to get the entire set.

How does add all this random stuff to it outside make the set itself less boring? It's definitely a bland looking building with a whopping price tag. It's not hard to see why a lot of people aren't rushing to buy it.

BaP?

I just bought her off Ebay for like 10 bucks. I have no interest in the actual set either so i said screw it!

I've paid more for single figs in the past (looking at you pre-Ruffalo minifig Hulk polybag)

Just2good at EB reporting Mr Freeze polybag is the April giveaway, free with a $75 purchase.

Ohhh nice. I just don't have reliable transport and TRU isn't close to me so S@H is just easier for me to get the freebies.

I'm actually rethinking my March gameplan and this fits in with my plans. Since Bat Cave and GB HQ will be around for awhile i'm thinking of just getting caught up on sets I need to get and picking up a few of the new ones instead of getting one of the big ones. I know its not the usual game plan for double VIP but point wise it would come out the same. My order would look like

Avenjet
Scooby Lighthouse
Avengers Giant-M...I mean Airport Battle
Ninjago Jay Elemental Dragon
Nexo Jestro Evil Mobile
Batman Harley/Deadshot set
some more CMF 15

Could get Batcave in april with the free Mr. Freeze

Is $10 a reasonable asking price for the C-3PO promo figure? I was hoping to get one after seeing it, but I'm not sure if it can be found cheaper. (The $10 is with Amazon Prime, at least)

EDIT:
I bought it.

It is missing 2 of the Big Tires. 2 Big Tires and 2 of the exclusive tires are there. Filled out the form online. Expect to see them in a few weeks.

Yeah this is my own fault for not opening it soon after I bought it. It was an online return, and the box was beat to heck.

The seals were loose, but didn't look like they had been removed.

I gotta think that this was somehow a factory issue, no way someone wouldn't take all the tires and minifigures if they bothered two take two in the first place.

Just weird after so many sets with no issues, having issues with missing pieces with two sets in a row.

Hey... Thinking about your tumbler. Do you have the rims that go with the tires? I would hate for you to get the tires only to realize the rims were not there or they had to be ordered as well separately from the tires.

I think it's ok but he'll be in future SW sets with the red arm. Maybe with different leg or torso prints but he's been a very common figure and I don't think that will stop as long as he's in the movies. But for collector value, it's the first TFA version so it's not a bad purchase.

** almost certainly wrong information below **

People are saying that the current Toys R Us Buy-1-Get-1 40% off on Star Wars toys works on Star Wars LEGO too, even though the flier says action figure & roleplay stuff. I have not personal verified, but if you stop into a TRU try it and see.

Could be bogus.

Lots of March sets are showing up at TRU right now. I'm gonna hunt for some tomorrow.

Behind Silver Centurion, that 3PO probably has the best printing I have seen. Totally worth it.

So I got Morro Dragon for about 45% off, but I'm still not convinced. The price per part still isn't awesome and there's lots of really strange parts. I might return it, but it would be a bit of a hassle.

Is it really all that?

With recent news, I went back and looked over my old Robot Wars submission on LEGO Ideas from a couple of years ago. It managed to get 21 votes in two years. Seems like now would be a good time to reupload it, but I think it could do with a rework: Should it just be the House Robots? or should it be competitors, or a mix?

As an aside, I also managed to find some of my old attempts at making robots from a couple of years ago. Putting them side by side with more recent attempts at the same robots, they're not in the same league, so if I ever need something to make me feel better as a builder, I can just look at the comparisons.

All depends on preference. If you aren't sold on the look from photos, then you probably will be disappointed. I enjoyed the brick-built head. The rest of the build has some nice techniques, but overall it isn't an exciting build. It just is really nice to look at. :) I really like the overall look and color scheme. Dark blue parts will be useful, but the faux-glow-in-the-dark greenish yellow bricks may not be.

Sensei Wu's Dragon has a lot more reusable parts and is cheaper.

Yep, bought mine because of looks, after seeing it in a Target Ninjago display for such a long time.

What's the most posable dragon available at the moment?

Glad that got sorted out. Posters on EB were losing their minds because someone started a rumor that it was a Toy Fair exclusive, and I was hoping it wasn't going to spread here, as I had no better information other than "no, that's stupid".

First review I have seen for the Captain America Airport Battle:

http://youtu.be/ZyMnN-QaB9I

I get they felt they had to throw something in their to play with vehicle wise and with the unique Giant-Man build it wasn't going to be a bigger build. Having had two very recent Quinjet sets though you would think they could come up with something else to put in the set. Still gotta get this set though.

He didn't say... But using the Winter Soldier promo as my reasoning... I'd say it's a flat $75 purchase. Just a guess.

Brick show reviewed Bat Cave.

Yea, I gotta get it now, no doubt. I was actually just thinking how disappointing the Avengers Airport Battle is when you think about it. Disappointing, over done Quinjet. No new figs except Sharon, the only real draw is the Giant-Man build. I'm leaning back to Bat Cave for double VIP. I love how it looks all together and I think it has room for improvements like building out the whole middle section and putting in a plate for more floor space to bring those little pieces out. The figs look so good and Joker's alt face is so good for that character and shows the designers were familiar with the show.

I ventured down the rabbit holes of both Bricklink and Bricks and Pieces last week. By the end of next week I should have my orders.

Bricks and Pieces is fun and it's a rush when you find a cool part in stock (see Sabine Wren helmet). Does anyone know if the March 1 sets show up there at a certain time? I've heard that stuff goes fast.

My next project is to complete a Maersk Line 10155 that I picked up on eBay for $60. It's missing about 15 pieces. I have most except for the Maersk blue tiles, a white technic ball, and a surprisingly expensive white on white lever (I could steal it from UN Headquarters).

I did register my own Bricklink store to. I named it "Heads Will Roll". I don't have any inventory up yet.
