Well, I did call this one out for being fake when the first images appeared. It looked too rough around the edges and the screen didn't look right at all. But when the second wave of images popped up, I started questioning my own judgement to the point where I thought it was real.

Well, I did call this one out for being fake when the first images appeared. It looked too rough around the edges and the screen didn't look right at all. But when the second wave of images popped up, I started questioning my own judgement to the point where I thought it was real.

That's where I was, honestly. I had found some issues with artifact around the controller in the first images, and these artifacts weren't present around anything else in the shot. I also noticed his post history, which was bare. This led me to believe it was fake, then these new shots popped up.

I was convinced at first, but as i was digging through dev kit images and info, I started not to believe it again. It's just really fun speculating how something like this could work.

That thread was a roller coaster, and I loved every second of it. NintendoGAF is best GAF.

I´m calling you out: This IS the real NX controller/handheld, and you got cold feet after detectiveGAF went too deep. To cover your buttocks, you created a 3D-Render and made this video saying "haha, got you guys!".
Your only intention here is to do damage control, because you´re afraid of having broken Nintendo´s NDA. Oh, and you´re probably the same person as that recent AMA-guy, who made some bs comment about "8GB DDR5, no, not GDDR5", then excusing himself by being just the "art guy". Yes, you are the art guy, hence being capable of creating this 3D render.

Same comment as in the other thread. If he didn't pass the model to someone else, how is the back of the black controller similar with his model, as you can't see that in the white controller picture?

Possibly that like the Wii Remote and GamePad, there was an earlier version of the NX controller that had no buttons. I gotta track down that interview about the original Wii controller being JUST the remote and nothing else.

Regardless of who passed what to whom, it's all simple geometric shapes and really easy to replicate. I could knock out a decent looking fake in Solidworks if I wanted.

We've got more than one loose end, actually, now that seems to be in contradiction. Destructoid believed this so someone had "vetted" it originally, then who ever Shocking heard from also vetted it even if he was skeptical on it, and GI heard of rumblings of buttonless controller.

Someone is slipping bullshit into the wild on purpose.
