man why is this thread not a spoiler. I wanted to know this information by watching the actual event! So many people worked so hard to set it all up and now Gaf just ruined the event.

It's a 1-2 hours event. There's no way that two 30 second clips and the release date announcement is going to take up that much time.
Well, Ben Moore from Easy Allies said he has a source for a FFVIIr appearance, but I wouldn't count on it.

Maybe they're real people that realize their fans comprise of some of the most deluded cynics in the gaming industry and they're trying to actually have fun. Weird concept.
Tonight's remaining announcement is that it's now being released exclusively for PS4K.
And renamed Final Fantasy XVK.
Seems like just having a GAF tab open would work better than begrudgingly watching a game event, but to each their own.
It might be a bit much to expect them to prepare something new to show with just a few hours' notice, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
This is a goddamn video game discussion board. The whole point of GAF is that it's breaking news like this. I don't even wanna know how someone can get so sensitive to spoilers that a marketing event is "ruined" for you.
I can spare a whole two minutes watching a press event before I go back to doing what I was doing. It's not really a big deal in terms of time efficiency.

Yes. The first full on gameplay reveal for SFV was scheduled for Capcom Cup the following week. however, since the announcement trailer leaked, they brought the gameplay trailer originally intended to be released at Capcom Cup 1 week early to PSX. At Capcom Cup, they played the first live match of SFV.

I would disagree with the leaked information being a spoiler. If anything, I'd say it's a spoiler for tonight's event, not the game. Also, GameSpot is really to blame for the leak, but I'm happy they did so that we could be informed of the release date early.

The reason I asked to begin with is because you said you were spared having to watch through the whole thing.
Anyway, glad you got to see the release date hassle free. September 30 will be here in no time.

This is information about a release date, a demo reveal and that the newest final fantasy has carbuncle and combat in it.
If any of these things are genuinely spoilers for you I'm sorry.
But if you were further spoiled by reading the thread contents or watching the videos it's your own fault.
The only way to have a completely pure experience is to go on a social media blackout, getting noisy about spoilers of a public announcement is not going to be productive.
Well who cares, i wasn't gonna watch the event anyway, it's gonna be late night here in Italy, at least now i already know the main news, and if there is really something more then i'll find out tomorrow morning.
Can't wait to play the demo, i hadn't the opportunity to try the first one so it'll be my first time with this awesome game, thankfully there will be plenty of games to play waiting for September 30th, starting from Quantum Break next week

I have a ticket to the event, the only reason I'm not going is because of the 2.5 hours of traffic from where I live to LA.
I am more hyped seeing additional footage. Release date has been leaked for a week now. Knowing about a demo doesn't ruin anything for me. I'm really looking forward to watching the event.

had the 4k version always the highest level of detail (the LOW lod is the thing i hate the most about FFXV), i'd welcome such version :3

In my honest opinion, the demo sneak peak wasn't much so I'm all good on still watching. The release date was likely September 30th as Gematsu is a trusted source. No idea why people are causing a fire over this.
