WW1 or 2 would be incred. Either way this needs to happen this year as I've finally got bored of BF4 and after playing the Doom beta, doesn't look like I have a replacement for it yet.

If they increase the destruction my dreams will come true.

I really hope this is true. I'd love to go back to that era at this point. Too many damn futuristic shooters lately. I've been more of a CoD guy but BF could win me over with this if it's done well.

Wish they went back to WWII much more diverse in gameplay. WWI was mostly in Trenches.

Have it set in WWII again with new frostbite engine bring back Naval battles with Destroyers, Battleships, Aircraft Careers. And Land stuff too.

I want a 64 man Battle of Midway with new frostbite engine.

Ugh this again... towards the end it wasnt in trenches anymore.

And again according to some here, it isnt strict WW1. Its Alternate History WW1. So they can do way more stuff and the game could be set in 1925 or whatever instead of factual right time period 1914-1918

God i hope they unleash a teaser trailer soon. Its about damn time.

Indeed. And its still was a world war. The trench fight was more in europe.

While I mostly would love a BF2142 sequel, a Alternate History WW1 with weird technology would be kinda cool if they went a little crazy with it. A pure WW1 MP Shooter I don't have much faith in.

I'll believe it when I hear it myself. DICE has been off-roading quite far now since making poorly thought out DLC with game modes that didn't retroactively apply to earlier maps, poorly made maps that was so bad that a remake of a old BF2 map turned out to be the best BF4 map, a commander mode designed for tablets that worked awful and was just boring but at the same time pretty essential if you wanted those air strikes or overpowered gunships.

I found that map pretty mediocre and not fun to play :/

BF4 in general wasnt that fun to me. Sure i loved playing it for a fair amount of time. But overall i enjoyed Hardline way more.

Prepare to be disappointed. Don't worry though, you'll have Titanfall and COD Outer Space.

Interesting and ambitious if really World War 1 but can't see it happening. Or they would completely ignore the western front, which would mean that it's a Great War game without the stuff that is essential to the Great War.

I think DICE should leave the Great War to other types of developers and make a WW2 game (with Vietnam expansion!).

A WWI Battlefield would be totally rad. Just imagining 'Verdun' (the game) with extra development ressources and product values and perhaps even a good and hilarious Bad Company stye- campaign (if it is an alternative version of WWI) would be pretty much a dream come true.

The gruesome fighting in the Alps between Italy and Austria-Hungary alone would make for very interesting maps and gameplay.

Alternate history could mean jet packs and wall running. Here's hoping...

i'd love to think they'd go all out on physics with a western front game. deformable landscapes with artillery shells sending half a hillside of earth to rain down on you.

not a chance with the CPUs on consoles though.

Like, you get a cut scene in which Joseph Joffre is pleading with Sir John French on the honor of England to make a stand with the French 5th Army Core and there's your player character in the background with a multicolored mohawk.

I'm fucking serious this would be amazing.

If it is Alternate history WWI then It's going be steam-punk I bet. Player customization options include top hats, twirly mustaches, and over 30 different shades of Brown for your uniforms.
