I got mine in the mail today. The case didn't have any cracks, only a few scuff marks. The watch itself looks fine except for the fact that the "mirrored" display overlay fell off and is in 5 pieces...so close.

How's this for imagery?

For anybody questioning if the cracked cases are Amazon's shipping fault, I can definitively confirm that it (mine at least) was damaged like this prior to shipping. The watch was sealed inside of a plastic bag, which didn't seem abnormal to me at the time, but upon opening it I realized that it was done because the giant missing piece caused the black bottom cover to come off.
And because of the seal, I know that the missing piece of plastic was never in the package to begin with, nor was the bottom cover, nor was the missing metal clasp or B button which had all fallen out before being re-sealed.

It's a cool, functional watch! Just with a bad strap. Mine is missing the display stand anyways. Any reason not to, besides value?

Damn that is horrible but i'm not surprised at all that aksys had retailers send out broken shit.

And yeah i wouldn't wear it cuz the watch will probably break easily.

So this is pretty cool.

...Except I didn't get anything. I live in an apartment and I checked the office and they say UPS hasn't even been by yet today. So why did UPS scan my package delivered?

Goddamnit.

Yours was shipped via UPS? Mine was delivered by USPS.

So I just got my watch. There was only a slight crack in the case but the watch was in perfect condition. It had glue on the sides that i peeled off. I guess I got lucky and didnt get one badly broken like others have. I wont be asking for a refund and I guess the watch crap is over for me. Good luck everyone else. Im still not buying from Aksys again.

Just got mine. Chose two day shipping after seeing all those same day shipping horror stories. It was still delivered in a bubble envelope but luckily my watch is in perfect condition. The outer case is flawless too. No scratches or cracks. It has glue residue on it though but I can easily take that off. I'm pleasantly surprised. :O

Is everyone paying for shipping? I'm in Canada and the cheapest shipping option seems to be $5.49 which would be very reasonable if it wasn't for me paying for shipping for this order already. I feel I have not messed up so it is not I who should pay the additional shipping charges.

He's saying they're not 100% responsible, not that they aren't responsible, the manufacturing was out of their hand, they're not a huge company who can have a division for manufacturing+packaging. Publishing involves numerous steps, manufacturing isn't something they evidently, had control over. The roundabout method Amazon have used to get the watches to their customers is at fault for the import fees & shipping it in a bubble mailer may have caused damage to the casing+watch.
Thank you very much for understanding what I was trying to say and putting into words that are definitely easier to understand than my big wall of text.
I mean it. Thanks.

That's not much of a solution if you have to hope they refund it later and you still get charged up front for it (and therefore lose on the bank exchange rate because credit cards always charge you more for foreign currency and give you less for the same currency when you get a refund).

Yeah, that and having to pay shipping for it is pretty dumb too...

I imagine it's included in the refund you'll be getting for the import charges.

So the driver looks like they did their job. I've had it happen before. I think I got my stuff the next day. Call UPS.

Why would it be? I can't see any reason to believe this would be part of some automated process. Import charges are normally refunded unless the customs process goes "wrong" but I haven't seen any indication of shipping charges being refunded.

oh boy, my watch must be here! "sees key in mailbox to indicate there's a package for me in the bigger mailbox" Well, okay, weird, didn't think it'd be that big, but oh well, maybe they put it in with my B&N order.

..........nope, wtf. Amazon said it'd be here today, especially considering I ordered using Prime.

"Updated Delivery Day: Monday, September 12"
"Arrived at Post Office Sept. 10, 11:05 a.m."

So is it arriving today or not, because my mail already arrived & I don't know when my apartment suburb gets the mail, I just get it when I wake up around 2 or 3 p.m.

They waived my shipping fee too.

I was in the same position. It arrived too late at the post office to actually make it out today and I won't get it until monday.

Normally, I would be pissed off about this, but given this whole incident it feels like a drop in the bucket.

I have no idea. I just assume that if they refund the import charges they'll also refund the shipping charges. As we were entitled to a free watch.

As of right now, we're still in the dark though. Contact costumer support to make sure you're getting your refund.

Is this like how some people seem to be getting everything and some people get Mike H who shuts down the chat and tells you that he's going to charge you extra for wasting his time? lol

Well the shipping fees got waived by my first support chat but they said they couldn't do anything about the import fees, I was actually just inquiring on the status of my watch during which I noticed the amazon voucher email. The next day after I ordered the watch I complained about the import fees using bamboo's conversation as a template and they responded that this will get refunded later.

Have you ordered the watch already? If not I recommend contacting support and seek an alternative solution where you don't have the insane import fees. If you have I guess you will have to take a small hit on the exchange rate and complain to support for some compensation for all your troubles.

As far as I understand and see the distribution of watches has been a complete clusterfuck, but for me personally I'm happy with the current solution put forward by Amazon. It is not ideal but I only recently started contacting support regarding the watch issues. I also really want to have that watch and have always been willing to pay a little extra to finally get it.

Just complain to get the shipping waived, additionally Amazon has indicated to me that the import fees will be systematically be refunded for all customers who ordered the bonus watch

Just realized that there is no doubt all the watches we're getting are broken ones from original batch and seperated from the bundle.

The ones they sold at anime expo three months ago all had zero time dilemma stickers or manual/insert facing the front on'em.

Of course Gamestop just shipped the watches to people who ordered the game without having to do this whole separate order thing... which would have been the smart way to do it.

these guys are scummy... having the nerve to sell the nice ones while we get the crap leftovers though we pre-ordered these a year ago...

While this is decent circumstantial evidence, the ones at anime expo were supposedly an air lifted emergency batches. It's possible that later batches for the bonus replacement were in the other style.

But this in addition to all the other evidence makes a compelling case.

Of course Gamestop just shipped the watches to people who ordered the game without having to do this whole separate order thing... which would have been the smart way to do it.

Yes that is very much the smarter way, but I would not be shocked if amazon has no way in their system to actually do that.

Well I got mine, haven't had time to open it yet nor take a picture but it looks just fine. Case is scuffed but not cracked, and watch inside doesn't look to have any problems. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Got mine. Same as everyone, shipped in bubble envelopes and the cases are cracked. Only one was super cracked. The other one had minor cracks so I can keep that one sealed.

I also noticed they have glue on them where you usually see them stuck with the games. I find this highly unusual and is making me strongly suspect that these are indeed the botched ones that were supposed to be replaced. If they were a new batch, why is the glue on them? There is no reason for that. I agree that these aren't even the same ones that they sold at AX from the pics.

Wow, this is really disappointing. We waited months to get the same watches that were supposed to be included with the original preorders AND I can't even get all the watches for all the games I preordered.

I'm pretty much done with this. Not gonna bother complaining anymore cuz it gets us no where. The way Aksys and Amazon have handled this was horrible. What's worst was this was for one of my most anticipated games of the year and now I have to remember how screwed up this experience was.

Really disgusted seeing what some of you received. After all that happened, and now damaged watches.

Never, ever buy anything by Aksys again.

There are so many games these days, we don't need Aksys.

The strap is garbage though wow. There's a really thin layer of rubber in the holes
(the ones that secure the clip when you put it on) that you have to punch through.

Are these really the original watches? This is funny as hell. I can't wait for my watch to come in the mail. It's sitcom-tier if they are sending the watches that started this whole mess

I cancelled my watch preorder long before the issues with the launch supply happened, but if these turn out to be the same batch of watches they initially had issues with, then I'm done supporting Aksys. This is not how you treat a loyal fan base that justified publishing the game in the first place.

Just got my watch. All things considered, it didn't end up as badly as it could have. My case is cracked and scuffed up, but the watch seems to be perfectly fine. It did have the sticky stuff on the side like it was connected to something previously. Wouldn't really be surprised at this point if it was from the original batch at this point. lol

Got mine today, too.

Case is scuffed, watch looks okay.. At least I think it does. I guess they all come with that warped look?

There is some sticky residue on the side. Definitely was once attached to something.

Got mine in the mail. Case was fine actually. I really hate the Amazon bubble envelopes since they don't do shit to protect what's inside during transit. Also seems kinda shitty on the pre-order vs booth watches, but at least we got them right?

I think I'll avoid pre-ordering anything from Aksys in the future.

Got my watch. Some scratches on the outer plastic case, but the watch looks fine. My game was delayed a couple weeks but I got $10 off and the free watch came eventually so I'm not really upset about the whole scenario, but the communication from Aksys was pretty bad.

I will say that my case doesn't seem to have the 2 glue spots on it like most of the others. And my watch showed a date of 6/21 when I pressed the left button.

Got my watch. No sticky residue on the side, and thankfully noting was broken. Case looks like it had been dropped in the asphalt though.

There's a small scratch on the watch that's unnoticeable unless you look at it in the light correctly, but I find it funny there was no adhesive protector on the screen, but there was on the back over the Aksys logo.

Date was 6-22 when I checked

Oh hey, look at that nice damage free watch and booklet compared to what we got.

Yeah, at this point there's no doubt in my mind that Aksys just said fuck it and sent out the old waches.

Should I place the order and then contact cs? Or chat with them first and then order? In canada for reference

If you talk to CS first, they will at least waive the shipping cost, potentially upgrade it too if you play it right.

Maybe even promise you will be refunded the import fees deposit "soon".

I emailed jeff@amazon.com a few days ago as it reached the point where Amazon CS was basically telling me "I'm so sorry, but we can't offer any additional insight or action on this matter", even after I was charged $570.45 for 2 watches and the associated import fees.

I just got an email from Executive Customer Relations telling me that they are looking into my case and I can expect to hear from them by 13 September. Fingers crossed.

Anyone who is still having issues, you might want to try this option if you haven't already done so. I see someone else on Reddit was able to get his import fees refunded by going this route.

Yeah, I just got mine and it's very clear that these were the ones that were broken. My watch is actually in seemingly good condition, but the box is banged up and you can see the glue.

I wouldn't say I'll never get another Aksys game (if they bring over Tokyo Xanadu PS4 I definitely will), but I'm definitely wary about any LEs moving forward.

Got mine in today and the box has a few cracks, but everything else looks ok. On one hand, this whole thing has been handled very poorly by Aksys, but on the other, complaining to Amazon got me enough credits that this game was pretty much free. Still, I do now have the complete trilogy of watches.

I had to put the metal clip back on the watch strap, but it's all good now. They could have packaged this a lot better. Case has a big crack in it.

I also got my watch from amazon today. The case was scuffed up and both buttons were completely off. It also has the adhesive circle which matches perfectly where one was ripped off my Vita game (I have yet to open it).

$22.00 to ship the watch from a US friend to Europe.

Hhm. I'm a Vita collector, but having to pay anything for something that should be free is messing with my brain!
