It's not legal to carry firearms in NYC so that would be very rare.
Every single time something like this happens i just hope the perp is not from middle eastern/muslim. Because of all the racist shit i have to hear at work. I just feel really bad for the muslim community because they actually hate these guys most of all and still will be compared with these assholes regardless by tje bigots.

There's plenty of people who share some of his phenotypes who aren't muslims but yeah, those who wear religious symbols are easy targets for bigots, especially when they're females.
This is my biggest worry about something like this. It could really fuck up someone's life. But if it is him, I hope they find him.

Honestly as long as this is not a case of mistaken ID then you're right, if it's another case of the Boston Bomber false ID then long sighhhhhhhh.
I also have a feeling that a Trump presidency is exactly what ISIS wants, where the continued profiling and disgusting treatment of Muslim people drives more of them to sympathise with their organisation abroad due to harassment by Trump.
Voting Trump is essentially voting for ISIS at this stage and America needs to realise that now and not December.
I want Hillary to win as much as anyone, and despise Trump. His anti-Muslim comments should have made him a non-viable candidate. Instead, they confirm fears that the US has not advanced morally or racially that much from the time of Jim Crow or Japanese internment.
The reaction of fearing that this will help him, however, seems unfortunate to me. This type of thing has happened several times in the last few years. It's part of our reality (as is right-wing terrorism, as is random shootings). The idea that we should be actively hoping that criminals and terrorists fit into a specific category to help "our side" politically seems a bit ghastly to me. Terrorists come with a range of motivations, and as long as we recognize that the overwhelming majority of Muslims are against terrorism and that the overwhelming majority of people who are anti-abortion are not shooting up abortion clinics then it shouldn't matter which group or category any given terrorist fits as they are the nuts within a group, not the group itself.
I understand that among the idiots in this country it doesn't work that way and they will see that the suspect is Muslim and use that to fuel their BS. It's unfortunate so many people (and one major candidate) can not differentiate between an outlier within a group and the group as a whole.

Or this plays into that trump is the reason for more terror attacks because of his rhetoric and it will only get worse if he is in office.
He'll be caught on the Pennsylvania Turnpike by tomorrow. Unfortunately for him, it's impossible to go 100 yards in this area without being spotted by some type of camera. He was a coward to begin with, but he probably should have detonated himself with the bomb in order to avoid what's coming to him.

I thought so too. Normally they have to put the word out for a few days before they get enough to ID the dude. This was less than 36 hours from the initial incident.

There's no need to preemptively frame the issue as a 'win' for Trump. And it's annoying seeing these asinine scorecards as if there's some contest for saying "this is gonna help Trump" first.

They didn't release a name yet but the Tsarnaevs sure made the most of it after their pics were broadcasted all over. Took them to go out and kill others for them to get caught.
