I wonder how much the budget is and how many people it took to make?

I'm pretty sure they want this to be as big as GTA V was, wouldn't be surprised if it took more money and people compared to it.

I think it would be something like this

Red Dead Redemption remaster - Spring 2017

RDR 3 - early 2018 (this includes the typical rockstar delay)

I could see this happening. Not doing a Red Dead Redemption Remaster would be leaving too much money on the table and it would also give the series a bit of exposure before the full sequel.

That said, there are a couple of reasons why they may not remaster it:

  • Given how popular GTA Online is and how much money they have made, it would be a reasonable assumption they are planning something similar for Red Dead 3. With that in mind, remastering RDR and its online features could cause part of the GTA Online community to shift to RDR online, when they will likely want players to move from GTA Online to RD3 Online.
  • It may prove too expensive or time consuming porting the game due to the mess that the code is in.
Also providing they do remaster RDR, I think they will leave out the online parts depending on how soon after we end up getting a full sequel.

They just had their exposure by going BC.

R* don´t just have a team hanging around ready to remake RDR FROM SCRATCH.

It´s not in the cards.

Why do a remaster when it was on BC not so long ago. If they wanted to do a remaster - they wouldn't have allowed it to go on BC

Also someone posted a post from a dev on here when he explained what a mess the code is for RDR - the amount of effort it would take to remaster it....not worth it.

It's about time R* release something and that ain't RDR remaster or another GTA online dlc and I honestly don't think they would tease us like this just for a remaster, it's a new game, I'm certain.

So, realistically and looking at past examples (GTA5 in particular) should we expect some proper news in the next two weeks or so?

Likely all 7 studios are working on it with San Diego being the lead. They only just opened their 8th studio this year based in India who originally under the banner of Technicolor had been working on the game and still are just as Rockstar India.

So 8 studios in total.

Think I'll restart RDR today. I was doing all the side content but eventually stopped playing before finishing the story. I liked the manual shooting but on horseback it would frustrate me. It's the biggest reason I hoped for a PC release as I dreamed I'd get a mod that allowed for manual shooting on foot and auto-aim on horseback.

Still, loved the game. My favorite rockstar game for sure.

You should definitely finish the story, it's fantastic.

I hope they find a way to fix the shooting on horseback, particularly if you wanted to use manual aim it was half-broken. The game required you to keep holding or mashing the X/A button to keep your horse running, but you couldn't do that while using that thumb to aim the right stick. It wasn't much of a problem with lock-on aiming which was so snappy you could quickly go back and forth between the A button and aiming. But with manual aim if you spent much more than a couple seconds setting up shots your horse would stop moving. Bugs me every time I play it.

No to the idea of multiple protags please! Having multiple protags will kill any chances of having a lengthy and epic arc for one well made character. I don't want watered down options, I want one strong option. Aside from that, just announce a game, Rockstar.

I think the biggest problem with John Marston's story is that it completely stagnates for a huge section of the middle. The story has an interesting beginning and great ending but almost everything in between is John looking to find X person and getting strung along like a punk over and over and over again. If adding one or two more protagonists can help cut some of that bloat, I'm totally on board.

The ending is so good. You need to finish it. I'm going to be replaying through the game again. I bought a cheap 360 recently just to do so.

RED DOG REDEMPTION
WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT?

In all honesty I am pinning on all hopes and dream on my idea that I post every 6 months.

I'll just wait for those royalty cheques to roll in!

EDIT:
What a kick to the balls (no pun intended) that would have been lol.

Well at least the guys with a PSVR will have something fun to play now.
