I sure hope so because Dutch was a very interesting character in RDR and this could mean looking back at the Marston's criminal carreer.
What makes me less hyped is the possibility of a multiple character driven story. I hated its implementation on GTA5 and don't want to see the game I've been expecting the most throughout the years ruined by it. But this heavy emphasis on the seven people sadly points that way.
That was because the story in GTA5 was a fucking meandering mess after a certain point. The multiple character perspective can easily work and Hell one of the best cowboy movies ever is based around the idea, the Good The Bad and the Ugly.
I dunno, doesn't really sound the same to me.

About the name. I know they're sticking to Redemption 2 for Brand awareness, but if it is a prequel to John and crew and they're seeking Redemption, is it not a foregone conclusion that it obviously didn't work out considering the events in Redemption one. Got dang this is some dank weed.

This is such a specific and mildly ungrounded worry but I love how Armadillo feels lived in yet also a nowhere town at the same time. I like the barren space between the buildings and how dead the place feels sometimes.
I trust R* completely but I hope they don't overpopulate some locations for the sake of the tech.

The screenshot feature on BC for RDR is so awesome! Great shots!
Playing it to completion probably for the fourth time before this releases, the game is still stunning!

Kinda interesting note but the teaser amassed 4.5 millions on Youtube within 24 hours. About the same amount of views, if not a little bit more, than the second trailer for GTAV which was the one that officially announced the characters and such a year after the game's announcement.

I'd like to play RDR again, it's been like two years since I last went through it. But I don't have an Xbone and I'm too lazy to take out my 360 again and rearrange my other consoles to hook it back up =[

Haha I have my 360 hooked up but...the fact the BC actually improves the game like the textures and frame rate I want to play it in the best way possible now and anything else would just nag at my mind until I do. lol

I think one of the few games to make me get a PSVR would be Red Dead. Think of the first person duels. Speaking of which what are the odds it has a first person camera like GTAV?

Absolutely stunning visuals, we should all just take a second and appreciate that games can even look like this now. All of those shots were painterly.

But I think this is the Pro version...looks too good for PS4. But if it is...then I can't imagine how good Pro would be.

Yea it looks fantastic and the framerate improvement is so significant. Out of at least 7 visits to Thieves' Landing, only on one occassion did I see the framerate drop, and it was still nowhere near as bad as the original drops. I don't recall a single other occassion outside of Thieves' Landing where the fps dropped on the S.
Pretty high imo.
I hope it also has all the control customization that GTA on Xbone/PS4 had. I liked being able to adjust the FOV, the deadzone, the separate camera settings for driving and on-foot shooting, etc. Didn't have a problem with the original controls on 360, but it felt way better on PS4 once I got it all setup to my liking.
Ah, I feel you. I actually didn't even know there were performance improvements on there.

Yup. The frame rate got some much needed improvement and the game overall looks and performs better even in cutscenes.
Eh not really. Multiple threads popped up for the trailer and then the combined effort of Switch and the RDR2 trailer killed GAF for hours resulting in posts getting deleted or not going through when it kept going up and down, which was a minor accomplishment considering E3 didn't even bring down the boards this year. lol

Well it's an announcement trailer for a game that's a year away. Rockstar will give us a slow drip of info/trailers over the next year. I hope we get those "Life in the West" type trailers RDR had. Also crossing fingers for more at PSX.
I enjoyed the trailer. I was happy just to see what this game looks like.

I mean the trailer got 4.5 million views in a day. That's pretty damn good lol.
But on a discussion forum there's not a whole lot to discuss. Still a year out and all we have are some good looking environment shots. Lot more to chew on with GTA. Man this trailer is good, i hope rockstar doesn't fuck this up, i am slightly worried since a few key team members left. Since i got pretty hyped i replayed the first 3 hours of Red Dead Redemption and it is so good.. Anyway i think i'm gonna watch some classic western movies, i mised most of them and i'm curious now.

I gotta bump this because I cant believe a Rockstar game reveal is getting mauled by the Nintendo Switch reveal.
And I dont think this has ever happened before.
Rockstar needs to realise they dont shit gold and their product will be outshined by a major console unveiling. They should have just delayed the trailer to a proper timeframe so it could have had the proper exposure it needed.
The first page of NeoGaf is all about Nintendo Switch.

Rockstar has nothing to worry about. The game will sell millions and be GOTY in the minds of many after release. Red Dead(as awesome as it is)just isn't quite GTA in terms of recognition/popularity. The views for this new RDR2 trailer obliterate the views for all the other RDR stuff on Rockstar's official channel.

The lead-up to the trailer with the first pic and then the second pic was a lot more hyped up.
The trailer, while nice, is just a tease that really gave us nothing to talk about aside from "it looks nice." We got no sense of characters, story, or any 'new" things that it has (aside from updated graphics).
I think once they start to release longer trailer that show more of the game and what it brings to the table it will be more hyped and talked about.

Thing is its not like you can't talk about Switch and RDR. As I said earlier I think people were expecting shootouts, set pieces, a look at the characters involved,etc. Instead people got landscape shots, more landscape shots, and the only real "action" scene was a charging posse and a guy with his back turned surrounded by a burning town.

No doubt but one can't say they knew this would be the reaction.
Were they wrong to expect that though? The GTAV reveal trailer was very substantial so people probably expected something more along those lines. My first reaction to seeing the length of the YouTube video was "Damn, that's it?" So it was more of something that had to do with expectations of the trailer than the actual trailer itself.
EDIT - Also, just to clarify, I was very impressed by the trailer once I watched it.

Delaying the reveal wouldn't have really changed anything. The lack of conversation is really down to there really not being anything to discuss. There was no story or gameplay in the trailer. It was short and largely involved environment shots. So there really isn't much to say aside from it looking really pretty.
It's also nice to see the contrast between these two trailers, they're so different.

I expected far from more the trailer, but it looks gorgeous. Unlike GTAV's trailer, there really isn't anything to truly talk about and speculate. I didn't expect the Nintendo Switch trailer to show as much as it did either, so it's a case of Rockstar not having a meaty trailer and Nintendo pretty much having a very strong one.

Could the shot at 30s be Great plains/Beechers hope? Don't have the original installed or I'd have a look. Think the mouuntains on the left half of the screen could be from the original game.

Maybe they would have had a greater reaction if they just realeased the trailer without the artwork. See the trailer then bam Red Dead 2 fall 2017.
