Black church set on fire, "Vote Trump" painted [Up: done by member of congregation]

^^^ people can choose which fundraiser they want to give to, donate how you like.

I think that's a fair question of any crowdfunded charity. If the bishop has endorsed the Gofundme, that's great. I have to admit that people are 'troubled' by a crowdfunded charity set up by Trump supporters - do you think they're going to just steal the money or something simply because they're Trump supporters?

You are sharing a donation link that comes off as disingenuous and promote a false flag mentality of this church burning. Are you just dense?

The fact that you are even defending that donation is disgusting. I truly hope to see you be removed from this community for your actions.

Try this.

It would look better on you and on others if you donated to the one that was non-accusatory. By posting one that was claiming it was a false flag, it makes it seem as if you think it was a false flag.

Context, as we all know, is key.

Yes, I'm not interested in contributing anything to the most deplorable of Trump supporters using a fundraiser to peddle disgusting conspiracy theories. Get a grip.

because whoever set that up cares more about trump supporters coming out this situation looking good rather than helping to repair a torched church.

That's possibly a fair criticism. I also think it's fair for people being blamed and vilified to say 'we don't support this, lets help these people'. I'd ask what you think what the motivations are of the "Dems help reopen a NC Repub office" Gofundme though...helping repair the office or looking good.

A trump charity has a much less likelyhood of giving money to the people that need it. And his party is the party of hate and white supremacy.

Plus, they're blaming the dnc for burning it down.

ALL valid reasons to not go with the white supremacists fund.

I don't know, which one is pushing false flag conspiracies in their godfundme pages?

Since shoplifter is as dense as lead, here's the description on that donation page:
After the recent arson of a church in Mississippi, Trump supporters have decided to come together and donate money to help rebuild the church.

The DNC has been caught paying agitators, and others to act on behalf of their political party. We believe that this was directed by the DNC in an effort to slander Trump Supporters.

It would has been a noble gesture if they had only said the first part or said they didn't support whoever is doing this, but got to throw in their punches.

I know I will be in minority but when I first saw this, my first thought was back to 2008 when a woman painted a "B" on her cheek and claims she was beaten by an Obama supporter.

Painting "Vote Trump" on a burned out church is as subtle as a "handle with care" sign on a nuclear warhead. it's just too on the nose...Of course those that burn down a church aren't exactly Mensa members to begin with so I'll hold off on my thoughts until someone is captured.

No they are mad that Trump supporters are trying to create a narrivtive that this was a false flag directly ordered by Hillary Clinton. Instead of the simpler answer that racists support Trump. I and I'm assuming other people here are tired of the supposed "good" Trump supporters acting like it's just a coincidence or something that violent racists love him and absolving themselves of their support for him when his campaign started and has been run on racism, among other things.

did they frame the arson as being deliberately set by republicans to smear them?

The difference is that the Dems condemned what the people did, the people in this case are blaming the Dems. That's the difference.

People have gotten banned for hinting at lesser events being false flags.

During these situations you give the victims the benefit of the doubt. The victim being the church not Hillary supporters. I don't think someone would burn a church to push an agenda like this. And as others have pointed out this is Mississippi.

But why, exactly? I don't get it..🐸

My sympathies are with the church goers of course...I just popped into this thread and now I see the "false flag" crap going on and that is that last fucking thing I want to be associated with...I was just giving my thoughts. Please don't lump me in with those people...

Glad no one was hurt. Hope they find the people who did this. This happens far too often, and I hope this doesn't start something.

Sad to say but I would wait before trying to pin this on Trump supporters. I would not put it past some sick fuck to burn down a church they are part of to make the other side look bad. Crap like this has happened before.

Ok...smh. let's not jump to the defense of ghosts and spout theories that don't need to be discussed just to appear unbiased. What happened is horrible. Considering other recent happenings in Mississippi, this blatant act of terrorism isn't shocking. Let's not defend terrorist. Let's not worry about the who right now

Yeah, especially after hearing about that project Veritas bullshit.

My state, why are you never in the national news for positive reasons?

Every black in MS should prep for Tuesday. It is going to be fucking awful. Overt racism is going to be at an all-time high.

It's funny. Whenever something of this calibre happens, the members who might be considered Trump supporters or "both sides" people are often silent.

Because they fit the phrase "a sad bunch" to a T.

OT: Disgusting racist fucks burning down a church to intimidate black people to voting for a disgusting racist fuck that vindicated the racist fucks to do this shit in the first place. Fuck Trump supporters.

And the ones that are the first to shout to the rooftops about something involving Hillary but when assholes like these are putting innocent people in danger or when a new disgusting layer to Trump is revealed, they remain silent. You people are nothing but a bunch of sad cowards, sad complacent cowards that want to put a racist fuck in the office. You people make me sick.

Anyone who thought this would intimidate people into voting for Trump was an idiot, which is why I'm suspicious. They should have known better than to think that people would be bullied into voting for someone. I'm not going to start blaming anyone yet though, I'm going to let the police investigate and we can regroup when they catch whatever asshole(s) actually did it.

I made the mistake of going down a Trump-supporter Black hole on Twitter after one of my tweets about this got some responses from Trump supporters.

Here's a meaningless anecdotal observation that I'll share anyway:

None of these Trump supporters care that the church was burned down. They care that this might get pinned on a Donald Trump supporter. Mind you, many of their profiles were things like, "Religious," or "Social Conservative," one was even "Proud Catholic." Yet, all of their tweets were about promoting the idea that this was done (or "paid for") by Clinton supporters as a last-ditch attempt to frame Donald Trump.

None of them seemed to care that a place of worship was burned down.

Like someone mentioned earlier, can we at least wait for all the facts and investigation to conclude before jumping on the "Fuck Trump Supporters for fucking doing this" bandwagon? How do you know it wasn't some radical leftist that did this, only to blame Trump and his supporters?

This is a horrible, fucking, terrible thing that has happened. Whoever did this, I hope they are caught and prosecuted to the fullest.

Its not a defense at all but rather wait to see how this plays out as we have had idiots hurt themselves and destroy their own property to just to blame others.

Don't be like that....

Yeah, I'm just tired of the blame game from both sides of supporters. This election is the worst and it's gone on far too long. The worst election. There are good people and bad people in both cheering sections and the bad ones are getting the good ones to fight amongst themselves.

How would burning this church down and spray painting vote trump help Trump get more votes?

For people who would burn down a church, it's not about getting votes, or increasing a share of votes, or getting candidate A elected over candidate B: it goes beyond democracy to the root of intimidation and terrorism.

Burning down churches in the 1950s and 60s didn't get votes; No segregationalist won an election because a church was burned down the week before. Kristallnacht wasn't trying to convince Jews to vote for the Nazis. They're not campaign-endorsing acts: they're acts perpetrated to tell people "You're not welcome here."

thousands of black churches have been burned down in this country, even some left year after one got shot up, so looking for rationality might just be a fool's errand.

Did they ever get a motive for the guy that was burning the churches around STL? I was searching and couldn't find one.

I hear you man. It's bad on both sides, good on both sides and just outright awful on both sides. This election will be one for the books indeed.

Pancake Mix

Copied someone else's pancake recipe
Even Bush called those who are committing hate crimes, some of the worst of humanity. Instead Trump prefers to feed hate crimes....

This "Even Bush" talk seems misguided. As bad as his policies were, he was not a racist.
