Hi all

First time posting long time lurker.

Must say I really liking this game. Never played the original. (not a xbox user) I have this game on my PC and PS 4.

I'm running with a GAF tag just don't know how to hook up with anybody. Probably lucky for you all as I'm always the 1st one killed. Also I really don't know what the heck I'm doing. 1st time in about 8 years that I have gone back to PC gaming (always hitting the wrong keys) also I'm an old man can't remember what keys do what, :(

Like to team up sometime. Mostly get time to game on the weekends. I do have a mic

Are you with TitanGAF? Usually whenever people are online at the same time, they team up.

Started the campaign today. Made it to the mission
The Ark

How far off the end am I?

Loving the campaign. Absolutely superb. It feels like I've made a lot of progress for a single session which isn't like me at all.. my attention span usually lasts an hour, maybe 2 max.

One level more I think.

Snowy Christmas map...

I am a HUGE sucker for snow maps. And a snow map in Titanfall will be bonkers.

Welcome, welcome! Practice a bit and you will see your skill improving. I recommend playing on the PS4 because the differential between a good player and an average one is a lot larger on the PC.

man, the R97 is garbage.

I think I did good by unlocking the dice roll boost when I regened.

I get a constant flow of random boosts with it since the cost is so low.

Sadly this isn't true.

You have to reach 100% before you can start getting another Boost.

I honestly don't understand why, because in Pilots vs. Pilots it means every ability is equally spaced after the first Boost...

Applesauce

Boom! Bitch-slapped!
Corporate was more spaced out, there's more area for pilot and titan combat, not to mention verticality. Complex feels like 1/2 of corporate.

Yeah it was better designed than Complex and Titan combat was a lot better there, but I still don't think Complex is a bad map. I guess it's the overall aesthetics that remind me of it. I've had fun with it though. Scorch is a good Titan for that map.

Huh?

It totally feels like I'm getting a lot of them. Also they seem to stack if I don't use them before the next one.

so hemlock is awesome, hated it in R1 but the burst mode made the weapon fun to use.

and fuck complex, I'd rather play crash site 5x in a row.

You like travelling to the other side of the largest map to get in your Titan?

See how you don't get two Dice Rolls before your Titan?

If you did everyone would use it.

So far I don't mind regen!

You don't lose as much higher as I thought.

And I like that I can pay for something if u really want.

God this game is well made.

Mixtape only hopper to play imo.
I thought the dialogue and the little reboot sequence was cute, too. It's the little details. While i don't hate crash site as much as most, it and complex are definite weak links. Half of the maps are pretty awesome, imo but i feel they could use some diversity in thier layouts and aesthetics . Easy fix would be to give us the best TF1 maps . I like going into the maps solo or with a friend and exploring at our leisure . Despite being halfway through Gen 2 I found some interesting areas on crash site like a bottomless cave which requires wall running in order to access a shortcut/Flanking route. It also seems like a lot of people dont realize tht titans can walk up the ramp through the ship to the other side.

Load up Private Match solo with Attrition on Complex. See how many Minions kills you get before the time runs out.

Garbage map. Hardly any minions.

In R1, even when Attrition was like 300 to win, about 140 per team would go to AI. Now it's like 70 per team for a score of 500... And part of that has to do with how much the AI kills other AI. Especially since you can be fighting a Reaper, get it to its final bit of health, and you won't get the points because some dick AI got the final hit in.

There's no point in this mode. Just have it be Skirmish instead if that's the case. Both modes should co-exist with different playstyles.

Noobs aren't killing AI to contribute when chances are, all the AI spawns take place where all the best people are just running over them in Titans.

Huh? I only have to do that when I die right after calling one in but that's not exclusive to Complex. Which reminds me they really need to spawn you closer to your Titan when that happens.

So yea battery boost on Ronin is very good indeed. The shield is a really big deal for him plus I paired it with overcore for some matches...All it takes is one 1v1 and then your sword core comes online... It's super snowbally actually lol

going on larger sprees with Ronin is the norm with that setup whereas before he was inconsistent compared to some other Titans for me. You could do some crazy stuff but there was also times I'd only manage one or two kills...

Here is one of the clips I took yesterday showing just how fast you get sword core. Need to try battery + Overcore with the other titans now to test it out as well.

Sometimes it happens when you call it. You have to be mindful of where not to press the button for it.

Also why the hell is the Dome not large enough to escape a Nuclear Ejection blast? I'm forced to get lucky with Stim as I eject as to not murder myself. It's like that kit was an afterthought to these maps...

Christ... i tried to give IW a chance this weekend and fuck is TF2 worlds better in every single way. It's so hard to go back to any other shooter after spending time in TF2.

That said, i'm loving MW:R still for a much slower more grounded shooter... but wish i didn't have to keep IW for it :/.

Will be on and off TF2 all day if anyone wants to group up.

PS4 id same as GAF name

Played a game of Pilot V Pilot while under chemical influence and had a realization that playing that mode is like having a cool COD and then switching to the regular modes a badass game in it of it's self. Also anyone else find Bounty Hunt a bit more enjoyable than Attrition, i don't know if playing the beta is what made it so for me, but when the beta was over going back and playing the first game just couldn't scratch the same itch. Granted i didn't play much of the first but imo TF2 is a better feeling game than the first.

Or you can, you know, use phase shift in an offensive way before an enemy start shooting you, i do it all the time. Phase shift before turning a corner if you see a ping, before entering a window or before climbing a building, iff you have any idea where they are you are basiically apearing behind or in front of them giving them very little time to react if they have their focus on the distance. Holo pilot can be used similarly helping even scout those places before you enter revealing enemies that attack it. Now if you do anything of this at considerable speed, you should have the advantage unless your map is hacked.

Edit: yes , i agree with your last paragraph but as you say, it is only better at long distances, you can close the gap pretty fast and secure using stim or phase shift (in my opinion that is) or even with holo pilot.

I don't find that especially useful used like that personally. Enemies can hear the shift clear as day and if they're already watching a corner they're not going to be caught by surprise to see someone appear in front of them either.

The issue with this is that it just resets the encounter to a neutral state, it doesn't offer a considerable advantage and you also do not know what's around the corner other than what's indicated by the single radar ping. If there are two players there you are likely to be dead.

I feel that you get a better advantage by traditionally peeking the corner, minimising your exposure to the enemy by only exposing part of your body, minimising your size by approaching the angle from as far away as your weapons optimum range allows. This way I don't announce my presence with an audio cue, and play off the concept of a peekers advantage, where it's easier for the aggressor to react to the target (because of netcode and preparation of the motor system).

If I'm using phase shift I generally hold onto it to use it defensively unless I'm really aware of what's around the corner, phase shift combined with map hack has pretty good synergy.

How about Rainbow Six Siege instead? It's great for that.

Snow would definitely be my number 1 choice

Would love a rain map too. Seeing it splatter off the hull of your Titan as you enter would be amazing

Oh damn, that got me thinking. A night or dusk map, in the rain, with a lightning storm going on. That would be so immersive and epic. Imagine Northstar activating flight core, up in the sky with periodic flashes of lighting in coming from the clouds behind him, while he reigns down missiles on the battlefield.

Combined with cloak, I'm getting mgs2 opening vibes. They would have to balance cloak around night or rain. Maybe have it flicker a lot because rain is hitting it or the water is causing it to short

I finally figured out what map complex is.

I have no problem playing it. I will agree it feels different than other maps but that's what I like about it.

I guess I just have low map standards after gaming for so long.

I would agree with this if speed wasn't a factor, moving fast while phase shifting is a game changer for me, your enemy might hear the sound cue in front of them but you are already behind them for the second one.

Same. I definitely don't think they are as strong as the other maps but i d o appreciate that the play a lot differentl and shake things up. I don't ever think about skipping them. I'm the same way with tlou mp.

What are the chances we'll be getting new titans?

Did the original game get any new ones?

New pilots would be great too.

I would say there's a reasonable chance. The way the pilot kit menu is structured, it looks like there was going to be an eighth pilot tactical ability at some point and it was cut out. Moreover, they've been vague on what new content besides map they'll be bringing out, but that "everything" would be free.

The game can only get better from here, and I'm sure they want to keep it things fresh over a long period of time, if not to retain current players to bring in new ones.

Here's what happens when you try to escape on the enemy extraction. The result of fooling around with some fellow Gaffers last night.

And here's the full match, though it's nothing special.

I was waiting for you to post this. LOL. Definitely a highlight from last night. Would have been amazing if one of evac team warped in at the last second and was like "thanks for waing, guys, i just made it... Wait, where's my team..." i thought, for sure, we were going to get an extra merit

I am very hyped for the stats page. Want to see my kills, deaths, time played, and a bunch of other stuff. I love stats for the historical value they provide.

How about Rainbow Six Siege instead? It's great for that.

I played the hell out of R6S when it first released but quickly got bored with just the same (Basically) one mode. Attackers and Defenders. Bomb, hostage etc. it was all the same. GREAT, probably some of the best tactical FPS bones... but not enough meat for me personally. Id love the maps and basics but strip all the "power" abilities and just allow for no respawn elimination style gametypes that start both teams on opposite sides of the map like S&D gametype.

Just picked this up last night and damn does this game feel amazing. Jumped right into MP and it just plays and moves so fluidly. The first Titanfall is one of my favorite MP games, but with so many games coming out I didn't expect to pick it up until some time near the holidays. Reading this thread made the urge to impulse buy this game harder and harder each day, but I'm glad I did since it's damn incredible.

On Xbox One and I'm trying to join the TitanGAF network and I hope my request went through. When the message pops up to send a request, hitting "A" to say yes does nothing. The message screen stays there making it hard to read if it worked or not. Either way, hope to see some of you guys online.

I cracked open the MP over the weekend and, have to say, this is the most fun I've had in a game for a long time!

I love the map design, I love the way the action is paced, I love doing crazy things with the grappling hook and everything just feels 'great'.

For me, it's one of those true MP gems. Hats off, Respawn, you did a great job,

One of the best MP games in a very long time. If you suffer from "one more game" syndrome, please see your doctor.

You mean like the OG R6 games on PC? Rogue Spear and Raven Shield were too good

With Angel City coming soon, I really hope that Outpost 207 is coming too.
Great Map with that awesome skybox. Most of the TF2 maps didn´t do it for me.

So many places on these maps you can go, the game penalizes you for and tells you to return to action. Why the hell do you have all these high places you can reach easily, and then tell players they can't be there?

The whole game feels so flat compared to TF1, they really try to limit how vertical you go. And it's not even high places, just random areas of map that you can climb on, and the game tells you to get down. wtf

At this point, they really should just port all the maps from TF1. It's a bit of work to test out the balance and such, but I'm sure it's doable over time.

I actually don't have a huge problem with the current maps, but it took some getting used to to find the best strategies as pilot or titan.

My favorite is when I accidentally land in a bush in the center of the map and it tells me to return to battle lol

Yeah I got "killed" once or twice because I was lost in the bushes and couldn't find the exit before the end of the timer. At least make the foliage transparent, or add an arrow towards the nearest exit, because I can't see shit !

That's what I'm hoping as well seeing as a lot of people didn't play the first game so it'll all be new. They could port them all, I didn't dislike any of the maps as much as Complex.
