FFXV copies out in the wild (street date broken in Peru, possibly elsewhere)

I am one of the few people on here who really loves FFXIII...for me XV is not a guaranteed improvement and doesn't need to even be to meet my hype. Whilst loving it I know how bad some of the choices it made regarding story/game design are though. But something about that game resonates with me so much I just love it overall. FFXV can fall well short of XIII in my eyes and still be a great experience for me. In my posts better than XIII will never really mean anything...nor does worse than XIII. Knowing that... I am going in with hardly any trepidation tbh.

However I am only now realising how much XIII-2 and LR which I both didn't like much put down my FF hype over the last 6 years and coloured my perception on the XIII saga. Had I only had XIII and XV was out in 2013 for PS4 launch it would've been better for me personally.

Thanks, appreciate recommending the right way to go version wise. Sucks about the game sharing with my buddy but I like the PS4 controller to just not as much as the X1. From responses appears PS4 version it is which honestly makes sense anyway since I'm planning on upgrading to the pro at some point probably after holidays when money isn't as tight anyway. Thanks again though.

I paid for the 1 day and I am in CT. Hopefully 1 day from Virginia to CT can get it to me tomorrow but at the latest Friday? Guess it depends on when he drops it off to be shipped out.

It is fishy, but looking at his previous feedback history, he also sold watch dogs 2 early (disc only) and it was legit... so i said fk it, i dont need a box, its $10 cheaper, AND i get thanksgiving weekend to play it early.

Also if you ever get scammed on ebay, 100% of the time ebay sides with the buyer. Plus i have his address on paypal.

Hmmm I think I just saw someone on instagram who might of got one from the guy. He was only holding the disc with no case which is kinda odd when every other in hand photo has been the case and it's contents.

Does anyone know if the regular, non-day one edition has the thank you note and reversible cover for North America?

Debating on if I should set myself back a day by driving around looking for a copy or just going digital. The regular box art is so bad I find little value in getting a physical copy... but it almost doesn't seem right doing this for a new FF

Saw online the physical copies arrived in Pittsburgh. So I gather a lot of places, both chains and independent stores, are getting them now in the US.

I just need this to be either

a) A good story, or
b) A good open-world game

and I'll feel satisfied. Doesn't even have to be both. It was in development hell, I know it'll be rough around the edges. That's okay.

Gonna have to resist the pull of spoilers for one more week. I don't know why I'm so hyped, I pretty much hate JRPGs and disliked both FFX and FFXIII. Yet the story surrounding the development of this game has been in my life for so long that I can't help but be there on day 1 to see what all this mess was always about.

Is there any kind of general consensus on the story or gameplay yet? Basically is it clear that they've done a great job or horrible job at either? I'm worried by the time the game is out the story could already be a laughing stock among people who have played it, like FFXIII's ended up being.

Also, this is officially the first game where I'll be thinking 'shit, I wish I could wait for the PS4 Pro'. Is there really a huge difference in visuals?

EDIT: There's a PS4 Pro in my local electronics shop but it's $1,050 us dollars, so... nah, thanks

Really surprised SE didn't want to get this out before Black Friday. Seems like an ideal time to release it if the game's already breaking street dates.

I ordered mine around 12 EST and he said he was taking it to the post office an hour afterwards. Status still says "pre shipment" so we'll see.

NYC fam, i'm hearing that one place with the state in its name might get their delivery tomorrow. Just asked if there will be an update to confirm if thats the case, will let yall know

Just received my copy in the mail from the eBay disc guy, so I can at least confirm the actual disc is legit. About to start finally playing!

Okay, I bit and ordered from him too. I still have hope to find a copy in NYC on Friday but I need to hedge my bets, as I want to be playing over the weekend.
