1, 2, Switch to feature at least 20 minigames

I disagree with people saying this should be included. This is a very specific type of game that caters to a very specific type of audience. If Nintendo included this in the box it would essentially give the message "This is what the system is" when it's obviously not.

Like everyone else said, really wish it was a pack-in. I still put an order through for one though. $30 wont sting to bad for this game. Seems like the only way to really show off the Switch at release to friends and family.

For $50? Nah. That still feels like its asking for too much. I think people would've been more receptive to it if it was like $30. People are enjoying the games but do a double take when finding out about the price. For something that appears to be more of the console's tech demo...hmmm.

Is one of the mini games 'guess how many ice cubes are in the JoyCon?'

WarioWare Smooth Moves had 204 mini games for the same price. That's a quarter a game.

It also had graphics.
that's not a fair comparison

warioware are micro games that literally last seconds, everything we've seen of 1, 2 Switch, while not as interesting as warioware to me, has been longer and more involved

e: if the ping pong is very good i'll buy it just for that tbh

Mario Kart would have been a good Pack in. Would demonstrate the joy con for MP and is more of what the system is I guess. Although the way they started that conference would make one think a Wii type system is exactly what Nintendo thinks the Switch is

Wait...I thought there were far fewer games than that. I had no idea all of these other ones were on there. Judging by the pictures, some of these could be pretty interesting.

They should have literally made a Warioware game and not some weird party title. Especially when it has almost no production values.

Even a game like Game&Wario which isnt a real warioware wasnt worth paying full price for. Id like to see them justify 50 for this.

Really should have been a pack in. It's like they don't understand what made the Wii so popular. Having a game out of the box would actually get buzz going. Sometimes I feel like they take their legacy for granted. It's something I would check out at a low price. Like $10-20 tops.

Imagine that this was a game available on the Play Store, or iTunes. Would you pay $.99 for package as a game? Never mind $40. This is just ridiculous and Nintendo is giving a great reason to everyone to just buy games on smart phones.

This must be a pre-installed application.

Yeah, I'm also on the side that thinks this should most definitely not be a pack-in game. This game is clearly aimed at social party people, think I'm gonna be milking any cows in my house solo, hell nah. I would just be pissed I'd paid for this if it came included. FeelsBadMan

Something tells me this is going to be an amazing way to showcase the HD rumble. The only problem is that showcasing HD Rumble is nowhere near as important as showcasing motion controls. Might pick up from the bargain bin at some point.

For the asking price, this would be easier to digest as a subset of "party games" within a game similar to Smooth Moves.

In this way you get a more traditional videogame that shows of what the controller can
do and also the more experimental "Off Screen" take that 1...2 Switch is attempting. Also, a 2 player only "Off Screen" game is surely alienating part of the Switch base, having the more traditional videogame component like Smooth Moves guarantees the game working for 1 - 4 players thus expanding the audience somewhat.

I feel like a Wii Sports approach, fewer games that are more mechanically interesting and replayable, would have been preferable. A lot of the games in 1 2 Switch seem like they'd barely be fun to play once, let alone actually have you coming back for more. Hell, I've had my fill of them just by seeing the gifs floating around the last couple of days. I don't think I need to try "Hold the JoyCon in front of your face and bite air at it as fast as you can" for myself to understand the nuances.

Yes, well actually its ballz

Nope, but there is a similar minigame where you need to guess the number of marbles in a box.

From some of the podcasts I've listened to, there's a "how many steel balls" or something like that.

Basically.

I was being a bit cheeky with that but yeah, now I remember reading about the HD rumble marble experience.

Actually, I wonder how far the JoyCons can actually be pushed from the perspective of new, innovative and immersive gameplay. I was intrigued when I saw the below gif again after the presentation, the sensors in the JoyCon seem to be rather advanced.

The 1-2 Switch mini games just aren't flipping my pancake. Maybe it's one of those things you just have to experience, but milking a cow or playing ping pong by sound doesn't seem like the best implementation. The shootout and samurai head chop seem like they could old very fast too.

This is probably the title I'm most looking forward to playing at the Switch event in Toronto in a couple of weeks. It seems like it could be a great party game for some laughs, but the main problem is.. I already have a bunch of those games. And most of them, like the Jackbox bundles, are $10.

Unless it blows me away at the event, I'll probably hold off until it's cheap. I imagine it will end up being one of the Nintendo titles that does eventually become reasonably priced.

Those games literally last 3 seconds, boss.

And they were very fun and far more engaging than anything we've seen here.

Totally comparable. Nothing is preventing them from having both quick and longer, involved mini games, yet all we've seen is slow, boring tech demos. WarioWare was a great display of the Wiimote and what could be done with it, while being fast paced and extremely quirky. Outside of the weird Milking game this is a snooze fest and lacks anything of the depth and quality of something like Wii Sports which offered up full fledged experiences in comparison.

Some of these mini-games barely qualify as games at all and they want $3/each for them. More robust and entertaining games with zero IAP can be bought on the app store for $1.

There remains zero justification besides pure greed and hubris for this not being the pack-in game.

And if not a pack-in with the system, it should be a pack-in with two joycons for $80.

If you do end up playing let us know your thoughts.

Bottom left looks to be Nintendo Online's Voice Chat App.
Savage.

While I still think I'm gonna hold off on buying this at launch, I'll more than likely rent it as soon as I can to get a party's worth of play out of it. My friend's and I will have too much fun dicking around with this.

This is typically one of those: "look at all our system can do" compilation with "games" you'll try once or twice and then never touch again. Nintendo is very fond of this:

- Puts features no one asked for in their console.
- Justifies the expensive price with those features even though nobody cared.
- Releases an overpriced tech demo demonstrating the features.
- As soon as the tech demo releases, forgets about the features and never use them again.

How many Nintendo games really used the Wii pointer? Tilt? Motion?
How many Nintendo games really used the Wii U screen?

WarioWare Smooth Moves had 204 mini games for the same price. That's a quarter a game.

Graphics are overrated, man.

I'm hosting a big "get drunk and play party games" party the week after release so I guess I'm buying this. Good to see there's at least a decent variety of games.
Isn't the concept that it's a 2 player game? Getting drunk between two people sounds... well...

I'm not. This is meant as something to get the Wii audience who don't normally play games.
Why getting rid of the Miis then?

Those games literally last 3 seconds, boss.
How long do you think you'll be playing 1, 2, Switch games?

Are retailers selling out of their pre-order allotments? If so, apparently, Nintendo doesn't need to include shit. Buy the game or wait for the price to drop. I hope we can exhaust this repetitive discussion about the value proposition of 1, 2 Switch before launch.

At 30 dollars this would be absolute robbery, at 15 I would feel ripped off at the lack of value.

This should be 9.99 at best, or better still free with the console.
