Be patient, most people take 40+ hours to beat the first time even though the actual run only lasts 1 hour tops.
Different colored chests drop different tiers of items, being from worst to best: Brown < Blue < Green < Black < Black < Red.
You usually don't want to open brown chests, you want to destroy them, but as you get more acquainted with the game you'll start to figure out better how to manage your keys.
You get good stuff if you flawless the bosses.
The Hunter is the best for begginers imo, because her bow one shots most enemies on the first and second floor.
Shotgun is the unsung hero of brown-tier chests. It ca easily carry you a few floors and will absolutely destroy with some accuracy buffs.I know, I'm just getting shit weapons from chests, and I completely avoid brown ones.

So a save feature will be in the free update? I'll probably try to get back into the game, but I expect my ass to be kicked once again.
It's been implemented for a while, you only get to save and quit.
You can't load from the same savepoint multiple times.
Man the serious cannon is A+fucking+mazing. I have been saved could tless times by the rebound on the cannon ball. I had a run where I found that, the scrambler, the glacier and got the bloodied scarf. I was nigh unstoppable until I got killed by the floor 4 boss.
The item Daisuke adds when he unlocks is a lot of fun too.
Puzzle box from Hellraiser, as you use it you 'solve' it generally spawning demon bulletkin but occasionally spawning cursed loot, got it early in my run and had a huge amount of items by the end of the run.
I need some tips for getting past the Chamber 4 bosses. The difficulty seems to spike pretty good there for me, and that seems to be the farthest I can get before I get my ass kicked. Also, I usually fill out the map before fighting the boss, even if I find the boss door early. I'm starting to modify that approach based on the situation (health, ammo, chests found etc.), But I'm wanted to see if you guys had advice on that too.
Well. This game is bloody marvellous, innit?

One of the standouts in the genre, IMO.
Indeed. I jumped on the boat fairly late and the concept of playing a game over and over and not making much progress typically doesn't appeal to me, but the core game is just so much fun and I can see myself slowly making progress (finally getting to the 3rd chamber).
I can't get used to keyboard and have to use a 360 controller, but still cant get past 2nd floor.
Am I doomed?
Also, buying items in the hub area shop only unlocks the chance of them dropping through the game, right?

No.Started a run since the Supply Drop came out today.I beat the Dragun, but I only have two parts to the past killing bullet. I had a question about that. After obtaining all four parts, when you use the gun that can kill the past, do you have to get the bullet parts all over again for the next character?
Anyone notice waaaay more ammo drops after clearing a room?
Wow.. Mine Flayer boss is a little...op. Definitely harder than the other Floor 3 bosses.
For keys, kill key dudes, buy them, get lucky. What's the best strategy for getting as many keys as possible? I run into so many chests that I just can't open, even if I leave them to the very end.
Also, how on earth do you find the secret walls?

For PC players: anyone else play with a keyboard and mouse? It seems relying on the auto aim with a controller is the way to play.
I find KB/M to be wayyyyy superior. Not even close.
Most of the people I watch on Twitch seem to be using KB/M and doing way better than I could with a controller.I only play with kb/m, but wonder whether it would make it a lot easier because now you only have to focus on dodging, not dodging and aiming. So it is possible to get good using kb/m? lol
