Yeah, it totally lost me in the last third of D2 and both series go on far too long. JJ as well. Punisher was great the show dragged and stayed around too long.

Netflix aren't doing too well with these shows. I'm bored already.

Who would have thought Agents of Shield would end up being the best Marvel show. Or if it counts, what Fox is doing with Legion is far more interesting.

Still don't get why Netflix insists on each one of these Marvel shows being 13 episodes. They'd be sooo much better if they trimmed the excess soap opera bloat each show suffers from & keep them to a tight 5-to-6 episodes. Ghost Rider was done incredibly well on this current season of Agents of Shield and if that character were to get his own Netflix series (which I hope he does!), I'd hope it wouldn't be more than 7 episodes in length.

I'll judge for myself(there's lots of reviled films that I enjoy and vice-versa), but if I think it's awful, it must be real bad.

I don't want to force myself through another bad show just to watch The Defenders. Luke Cage was a chore to get through. I'll give it a shot but I'm hoping that the people that hate Iron Fist are the same people that loved Luke Cage. That way I'd at least know that we don't agree on what makes a show good right from the start.

Luke Cage was thoroughly enjoyable whenever Mahershala 'Now I Can Hit You Like A Man' Ali was on screen, hopefully Iron Fist has something similar.

I already hated all the other Marvel NF shows, and those reviewed well.
So that's not a good sign.

And the action in the earlier clips looks so bad.

Iron Fist was the one I really didn't want them to fuck up.

IIRC, the original contract with Marvel was for four 13-episode series (DD, JJ, LC, IF) plus a Defenders mini-series, so unless they were up for breaking the contract, they were kind of stuck with that formula. Hopefully going forward they change it (I love Punisher, but I don't want 13 episodes of him!)

Disappointing.

Iron Fist was my Thor (expecting it to be the most fantastical property) of the Marvel TV shows and now it's apparently grounded and being panned :/. I was looking forward to this being the most "super heroic" of the bunch but it looks like a dare devil rehash.

Still going to give it a watch.

This sucks, Iron Fist was the one I was the most interested in and it looks like they fucked it up. If shit like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones is reviewing better than it then it must be ungodly awful.

Yeah there hasn;t been as single good looking piece of footage that has come out of this show. There are too many good shows now to waste watching sub par stuff that doesn't even have good fight scenes

I have no doubt they would. Not many people had any hope for this, even die hard MCU fans. Defenders is being run by the Daredevil S2 guys which, despite some arguments on internet forums, was received well.

Then we'll get The Punisher from one of the minds behind the Hannibal TV show, which is a brilliant choice.

It's fucking iron fist. It had no chance. Iron Fast fans will be mad at me for saying so but there was just no way. Jessica Jones was pushing it and we saw how that turned out to just be decent at best. This had no chance.

Filming it is just as important. There are plenty of films with great choreography and subpar framing and editing.

If we go by Rottentomatoes, S3 of Arrow is a masterpiece. If we look at general reception by critics (e.g. Metacritic), Jessica Jones is at the top.
It should always be kept in mind though that Netflix doesn't hand out the entire season. Frankly, all of their shows have been quite well-received so far.

Luke Cage got high scores for the first few epsidoes. Which is why metacritic and rottentomatoes is misleading when it comes to tv shows. It's better to follow something like Av club or Alan seppinwall and skim it than than those websites

Seriously. Considering the amount of unwarranted praise that critics heaped upon Marvel's other mediocrities, this one must be truly awful if it's actually getting bad reviews.

It should be noted that the 33 Metacritic is based on reviews from all of 5 critics. Still, this is looking pretty bad. What a damn shame.
