That one is just insane. The Simpsons in its heyday was the smartest, most earnest, most consistent, and plain funniest show on television. It's difficult to take seriously anyone's opinion who thinks The Simpsons was NEVER good. I mean...just come the hell on.

Absolutely! No other show comes close to The Simpsons greatness during seasons 1 to 10 or so. Saying that the show was not good even during that period is just... NO, I mean NO! Simply doesn't make sanse! But oh well.

Come on man. Let's not pretend that Colin's actions had nothing to do with this. His own coworkers denounced his tweet.
Not to mention Greg said this is more about a growing devide between Colin and the rest of them over some time.

The tweet may have been the straw that broke the camel's back but this split was inevitable it seems.

The golden age of Podcast Beyond of 2011 to early 2013 is, bar none, my favorite gaming podcast of all time. Greg, Colin, Clements, Goldfarb, just the best show. I looked forward to it eagerly each week. Clements being laid off following the Ps4 reveal was the clear end point of that era, though I still very much enjoyed the show through Colin and Greg's tenure on it.

Colin was always Colin, but moving to his own co-owned company (that co- part ended up being important) clearly freed him up to speak more openly and often abrasively. It would be very irritating at times, though I can't say I was ever too offended by any of it. He was still interesting to listen to right up to the end. Still, his wanting to become a hybrid gaming/politics personality clearly clashed with the community of "best friends" the other three cofounders were building. His dumb trolly tweet and reaction to it may have sped up the timeline, but he was eventually going to do his own thing regardless imo.

I liked his segment (Collin was right) and am confused as to what prompted this sudden shift. Last I checked, there was a thread about him talking to Glen Beck.

Seems like he will be able to find himself a comfy safe space within the likes of Rubin:

That's cute.

Are you guys kidding me right now? 78 pages on Colin's personal life?

1) Congrats to the people who broke up the kindafunny gang, I really hope it works out for you all. I'm glad you had enough time in your own lives to accomplish this.

2) Congrats to Colin, he'll make way more money talking politics than he ever will talking about video games.

3) Move on with your lives. It's over. Go find some other internet personality to attack, because that's what is hip these days right?

There's probably room for you in Colin's safe space. Do you have any strong feelings on free speech you'd like to share? Perhaps the lesson should be don't say dumb, unfunny, sexist stuff when you're a public-facing individual representing a company/brand. If Colin didn't have the intellectual capacity of Will Ferrell's character in Talladega Nights, he wouldn't be in this situation. You can't just say "it was a joke" or "with all due respect" and then be immune to the consequences of your actions.

"Why didn't you all just like Colin, damnit?!"

Being a grown-up and taking personal responsibility for your own words and actions no longer needs pretending to be a mantra in Trump's America. Blame everyone else, always, just like Dear President.

IIRC Colin doesn't like the current administration.

However, who would have been happy with a Romney one, which would have still done tons of damage to all the minorities you have listed.

It's weird, because when the ugly side of the Republican party is staring him in the face, he will disavow it, and strongly. But if it's hidden behind the veneer of respectability, then he's ok with it.

Nail --> Head

This is the exact same reason his identifying as a libertarian or a fiscal conservative or whatever is surface-level bullshit. Colin is a dimestore toxic conservative.

1) It was a group effort lead by Colin. He did certainly put his fair share of time in over the years to help us call him out!

2) He just might! I have no idea how much he was bringing home every month either before or now but I guess your statement might be true.

3) Plenty of people here enjoyed Colin's work. His opinions are and have routinely been hurtful and frankly oppressive to many groups of people. Most people would have been satiated with a hint of introspection on his part about his actions.

But alas, here we are.

I won't talk about his politics or even the tweets as these seem to have already been covered enough here.

I will mention his complete lack of passion for gaming that was ever increasing. If you are a long time IGN fan of even Kinda Funny one, you can find many evidences on that on PS I love You or their weekly videos, on the gaming side or the variety one. His dissatisfaction with current gaming because they lack innovation and they are a lot worse than the old ones. If you watch a video on the variety side about top 5 lists for entertainment for them Video Games are low on Colin's list and he treats it with disdain as he doesn't think VG should be number 1 in anyone's list. He doesn't care about finishing games anymore, not even the ones that interest him, with a few exceptions, he does like to talk a lot about them though as if he did. That and other several examples you can find widepread throughout their content

Kinda Funny is not losing a lot with him when it comes to his knowledge because VG is not on his list of priorities anymore, the writing has been on the wall for a while with him.

As to his other issues, and it's not few, it's the reason i quit watching them for over a month and unsubscribed from youtube and patreon for a while longer. Yesterday was the day i came back to watch their future content.

3) Move on with your lives. It's over. Go find some other internet personality to attack, because that's what is hip these days right?

Please, please, please explain to me how Colin was "attacked" and not simply called out for saying stupid sexist shit and other past bullshit. This isn't some random dude named Steve that works at Kohl's, it's a famous public facing internet personality who said stupid shit on his Twitter account publicly who then took his ball and went home because people legitimately pointed out why what he tweeted along with his response wasn't cool. Please, please show me how Colin was attacked, or threatened, or doxxed, or hacked, or was told he would be murdered or raped - anything constituting an attack other getting publicly called out for saying stupid shit. By the way those examples of attacks are exactly what have happened to women in the video game industruly simply for being a woman.

How is it that sometimes it looks like people talk more about political stuff than about games themselves(not just this personality but people and medias in general). Have video games become so boring for people that they dig around to find political themes?

lol @ Colin's Twitter. Man puts all this effort into being a sexist douchebag and they go and call him racist...Guy just can't catch a break.

Wow, honestly I had no clue my post would get so many responses. I had no intention of returning to this thread, but I will say thank you to the people that actually read my post as most things I do in life go unnoticed.

Whether it's positive or negative, thank you! I apologize if anyone read my post as sarcastic or sincere.

Is this the first time they miss a PSILY week since its inception? Damn, I was coming for my fix even if it was just Greg by himself.

The show must go on. They can't retire this podcast. With or without Colin.

Apology accepted. It was my mistake really. I should have known your post was neither sarcastic or sincere!

Nah dude. Beyond found its identity with Greg and Colin, and if that's not there, then please don't keep the same show. It's just not right.

It's not Beyond. Beyond is the IGN show with Max and Marty and Brian.

PS ILY is the Kinda Funny Sony podcast...I don't see why that should change just because Colin's gone.

Bingo. Alt right views, "anti-sjw" views, pro-GamerGate views, and the like are toxic to this fandom.

Video Games are primarily made by techies who are overwhelmingly progressive and for inclusion and embracing of other cultures. The views of Colin are vastly opposed to the wider community. It is why GameGate was such a toxic mess and embarrassment for the community.

KF could not continue as long as Colin insisted on spreading his views which were toxic to the wider gaming community.

The question I'd love to ask the "non progressive" people is this. Are you against inclusion and embracing of other cultures?

Never thought that Colin was so influential to arise a 79 pages thread. Colin was right was the only segment I watched on kinda funny, I will just cancel my subscription.

^Yup that is the truth.

Thankfully Neogaf isn't representative of the majority of people and the support he is receiving on social media is really heartening.

It's a decent enough show, but they should not have kept the Beyond name, they aren't Beyond. Not that it matters I guess.

I asked this twice in this thread already, you wont get a response because they know the answer is shitty

You know what has never happened in the history of the echochamber/different views discussion?

The people who are opposed to the 'echochamber' or supporters of 'free speech' actually stating what these different views are, rather than just saying 'alternative opinions'.

Really. What is the liberal agenda that everyone is so against? What's a specific viewpoint that people are too set on and deserves to be debated? I challenge someone to actually say it so we can clear this up once and for all.
