The golden age of Podcast Beyond of 2011 to early 2013 is, bar none, my favorite gaming podcast of all time. Greg, Colin, Clements, Goldfarb, just the best show. I looked forward to it eagerly each week. Clements being laid off following the Ps4 reveal was the clear end point of that era, though I still very much enjoyed the show through Colin and Greg's tenure on it.
Colin was always Colin, but moving to his own co-owned company (that co- part ended up being important) clearly freed him up to speak more openly and often abrasively. It would be very irritating at times, though I can't say I was ever too offended by any of it. He was still interesting to listen to right up to the end. Still, his wanting to become a hybrid gaming/politics personality clearly clashed with the community of "best friends" the other three cofounders were building. His dumb trolly tweet and reaction to it may have sped up the timeline, but he was eventually going to do his own thing regardless imo.
